Would be interested to see how well the claims of '13,200mAh Lithium battery lasts up to 6 months on a single charge' pans out in real world , especially in higher traffic areas.

Friends don't let friends buy Swan

  • Any good against the Arlo? Tempted as there's no subscription fees

    • Im using Arlo (original) and decided to go with Eufy cam pro 2c for my next one

      • Because?

        • Eufy don’t need sub I believe

        • no cloud storage needed, local storage supported

          • @Dalgona456: Thanks, how is the resolution compared to arlo, does eufy support solar panel power supply, is a hub needed and does the sd card go in the hub or the camera?

            • @nsavi: They do support solar panel. check more info on the youtube

I won't use another Swann product as long as I live. HORRIBLE apps, dreadful reliability, and poor longevity.
      Been burnt too many times.

Same, crappy service. Still waiting for call back from Raj, 3 months on.

  • Swan is a good camera maker but their cameras not good.

  • Recently bought a EUFY cam 2K 2C 2 camera pack which is expandable eco system (Door Bell, Additional cameras upto 16, Security Floodlights, Sensors, locksetc) with local storage and no ongoing fees. So far can't complain at all, after 3 months use battrey is still at 65% with optimal setting on camera at the main door and about 15 triggers or so a day if not more. Overall is really good system.

  • My first wifi security camera was a wired swann. Goes offline multiple times a day even though it has full bars. You NEED to have a night mode and day mode setup because night needs to be more sensitive or it misses everything. Leaving it on night mode during the day results in 1000 events. It has a good field of view but that is the only positive. Reolink is way better at less than half the price.

  • Could someone can confirm would this be true:
Recently my friend house was broken into and he had swann security (WI-FI) installed but unfortunately the cameras didn't record anything. The recording were there until few minutes before the break-in but not when the incident happenend.
I was thinking can burglars can deactivated or make those Wi-Fi camera not to work?

Thank if you could shed some light. TA

So the thieves either disabled the wifi or the power or both. Most meter boxes are unlocked and easily accessed (they should know if that happened by clocks or similar not having the correct time). If your friend has wifi battery powered cameras they will only record if they have a memory card inside or a wifi signal. If the thieves turned off the power then the wifi wouldn't work. Security systems and anything that is attached (cameras, NVR, wifi modem etc) should have a Uninterruptible Power Supply to keep them running, which should also be hidden and secured ideally.
