  • Pretty good - just signed up and have been provisionally approved :)

Net $255 gain from points? Sounds like they're easy enough to apply to my grocery purchases at Coles - also gets me into the Flybuys game.

PSA: NAB refunds annual fee pro rata.
As soon as the bonus points are transferred out of NAB to Qantas account or Flybuys account, close it, enjoy your annual fee refund for unused months.

    • So what, $380 benefit here?

    • Just confirming that the 90k points can be also transferred to my Qantas Frequent Flyer account?

      • Doesn't seem so on this card:

You'll collect 90,000 NAB Rewards bonus points, which are automatically redeemed for Flybuys points, when you spend $1,000 in the first 60 days

    • I have check with NAB and they confirmed they won't do pro rata for annual fees, have you done recently. Any tips for bargain

      • I canceled 1-2 months ago and they refunded on a pro rata basis.

        • +1

May I know how the refund works after the card is cancelled? Did they transfer you the money to your bank account?

  • Give or take, depends how long you take to hit spend and cancel card. Mark sure you have used or transferred points before closing the card or you lose them!

Example, I paid $195 for 100k bonus Qantas points on another deal. Cancelled after about 2 months and got back $165ish.

    • Is that with American express too? They reimburse you for the months not use?

      • Only NAB that I'm aware of

    • after you've closed it, how do you get the refund? Nab bank account?

      • You provide them BSB and account number. Doesn't need to be NAB

Fewer points but lower fee: https://nab.com.au/4cards

    • Interesting.

If you have NAB account, when login and go check new card from within your Internet banking, you will see similar offer but less points.
      eg
60,000 bonus points when you spend $1,000 for the Reward Platinum.

  • Does getting this card and then cancelling after Flybuys points get transferred affect Credit history or anything, which may impact home loan application later?

    • It may.

If this is the only thing in your history for years and you're well able to service the loan, probably not.

But if you've opened a number of cards/loans recently then it won't look so good.

  • not bad, 90,000 flybuys = 45k velocity. wait for a bonus and u should get 50k+

  • worth a crack

  • Can't see anything in conditions about waiting period with other nab cards previously?

This offer is not available to existing customers who have received or are entitled to receive NAB Rewards Bonus Points for a new personal NAB Rewards Platinum Card in the twelve months prior to the opening of the NAB Rewards Platinum Card account. Offers are not available when closing/transferring from another NAB credit card account or in conjunction with any other NAB credit card offer.

You are fine if you don't have a Rewards card within last 12 months

  • Frustrating application gets error messages and makes you start over again. gave up on third try.

  • It's weird you can't find this deal on their website. The link on this article works, but they navigating to the offer from their website and it can't be found. Called NAB and they didn't know about offer?? Maybe it has ended…

  • How do you find out which offer you actually signed up for?
I received the CC today, but I cannot find any info about the deal I applied for anymore…it all looks generic.

  • "This offer is not available to existing customers who have received or are entitled to receive NAB Rewards Bonus Points for a new personal NAB Rewards Platinum Card in the twelve months prior to the opening of the NAB Rewards Platinum Card account."

I've had a NAB Qantas Rewards Signature Card in the last 12 months. Would i still be eligible for this promo? Since i was earning Qantas points not NAB rewards points?

    • For those wondering they confirmed I would be eligible.

  • To those applying for this, make sure you keep screenshot of the promo with appropriate timestamp - one way is send email to yourself the promo screenshot with the application number.

I signup in Jun and already spent the required $1000 within 1 month. Haven't seen the bonus points so called them today. They did some digging and said i only spent a bit over $1K and the promo that time was required $2K spending. I was pretty upset and told them to go back and check with their system or supervisor as i have evident of that promo only needed $1K.

After few minutes on hold, they agreed to give me the full bonus points (without admit they wrong or right). I told them I'm happy to send them the info if needed.

    • I had the feeling this happened to me to, so I spent a few hundred more and then got the points. I think the annual fee doesnt count towards the $1000 .

      • How much did you spend?
I spent around $1300. They are no longer pending status. Not sure how many days will the points be loaded to my flybuys.

        • About the same, the points are calced weekly and sent to flybuys.

          • @specwarop: Just logged in to nab and can see all the points now. Now I only need to wait for it to automatically change to flybuys and close the card.
Did you keep the card or cancel after you got the points?

            • @RTY: How long did you have to wait after met the $1K requirement?

              • @timhn: one week

                • @RTY: Ok, got all my bonus points last week from the Rewards cc. Claimed $500 WW giftcards and closed my account. NAB have also refunded $79 for the fee. ($99 originally and kept the account for 3 months). The refund amount is now in my CC account and will be credit into my saving after 30 days.
Nice one NAB. See you in 12 months :)

                  • @timhn: They refunded me full $195 :). I kept the card for two weeks only.

                  • @timhn: How long did you receive the refund back to your other bank? I gave them my bank details but it hasn't been refunded yet, only showing the annual fee refund on nab atm.

                    • @RTY: I think at least 30 days. Right now, it's still sitting in my CC account.

                    • @RTY: Did you end up getting your refund? How long did it take?

                      • +1

@foxes28: The refund is still on my account and I don't know when they will transfer it to the bank account I provided.
Got the refund in 1 day after online chat with customer service.

                        • @RTY: I also had the full annual fee refunded when I cancelled my card, had it for less than 30 days.

Weird thing is it got refunded back to the CC, which should be closed off. I did provide them my other bank account's BSB/Account but didn't think it will show up in the CC transaction.

Is this normal? Was planning to hit up customer support to let them know to transfer the amount to my nominated bank. But if it is normal and will auto transfer, then I'll just leave it as is.

                          • @CodeXD: The refund amount will transfer from your CC to the other account after 30 days.

                          • @CodeXD: I contacted the customer support again after 5 weeks of closing my card, and finally got the $195 back to my commbank account the next day.

  • Anyone had their 90,000 points showing in the NAB rewards account as auto-redeemed to flybuys but the points never showed up in the designated flybuys account although other normal spend points that were auto converted weekly showed up fine.

  • If you haven't closed this and gotten a pro-rata this perk has now ended https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/nab-ends-annual-f…

  • just missed out cos had to fight the lousy customer service just to get the 90k points then its too late. Also so complex to redeem points. Gonna cancel anyway. Not gonna sign up again. Too much stress to get the bonus.
