            • @OZKap: That’s great for word docs and excel but it still just makes the text bigger losing the value of the extra resolution

With a bigger monitor you don’t need to do this.

              • +1

@choofa: The display still operates at 4k. It's just like how phones and tablets have worked for years, yet somehow people still think 1:1 pixel is the best or only way to use hiDPI. SMH

                • @lunchbox99: I understand how it works. For me, a larger 4k monitor allows more space to work with for my poor eye sight.

        • -3

4k 27" with typical scaling means you're only getting the dpi of a 1440p display.

For office work it's no better. But if you're using it for games/movies, sure. But the 32" would still be better.

          • +2

@justtoreply: Even with scaling, you are getting extra pixels, so a sharper image.

If you are going for a 60hz display for office/internet there is no reason to choose 1440p over 4k, except money.

          • +4

@justtoreply: Nope. You have the real estate of a 1440p display, with 4K resolution. It makes the text sharper and is recommended if you work with Coding/Office/Internet a lot.

            • @davescott: You are right, everything was crisp and clear on my 27" 4k monitor, and the only benefit of the 32" for me is when I need to extra real estate for highly detailed Visio diagrams, or when I need to have a large excel spreadsheet split screen with a word document.

95% of the time I have one document open and the 32" is not really an advantage over 27", especially with sitting close to the flat VA panel and the dimming on the sides due to poor viewing angle.

But then, when I sit on my bed, pick up an xbox controller and play…

It really does depend on the use case

            • +1

@davescott: Seriously how do people still not understand this when phones and tablets have now worked like this for a decade. Bizarre.

              • @lunchbox99: Probably because this hasn't actually worked so well on Windows in the past. We had 27" 4k monitors at work on windows 7 PCs and it was hit and miss with what would work nicely. In the end most people switched the resolution to 1440p to make it easier.

    • +2

I moved states and had to sell my dell 27" 4k and ended up getting a 32" 144hz 1440p. Huge regret, 4k is way way more useful than having the extra frame rate, picture quality was way better as well.

      • +1

i did the same had 1440p ….. bought 4k and soled the 1440p, 4 k much nicer ….. i do office work from home …..

    • I use the S2721DGF (1440p 165Hz) and S2721QS (4K 60Hz) side by side. I would go for the S2721DGF in a heartbeat. Yeah, it looks way more pixelly but it still has decent screen real estate for productivity. 165Hz is amazing for gaming but I find it's also really useful in productivity tasks if you are scrolling a lot. Picture wise I also prefer the S2721DGF but the S2721QS is no slouch either, both look great. The only advantage really is the crispness of the S2721QS, it looks insanely sharp with 150-200% scaling but then you have the same real estate as a 1440p so it's not really improving productivity.

  • So I must sign up to eBay plus to get this deal? $4.99/mth, might just sign up for a month.

  • dealbot, is a ebay voucher code required for this deal? And will Shopback cashback work? Thanks.

    • +1

Yes, code required. I’ll update when deal goes live.

Promo code needs to be listed on ShopBack which I don’t think it will be.

      • Code is not working for me.

        • The price tag still $436 not $299.

        • Took a few attempts at entering the code, but worked eventually.

  • How much for 2 of these monitors?

    • +2

      $299 x 2 = $598

      • May be one code per account.

  • +2

I’ve said it before. This screen is the business. If you sit close to the monitor you’ll love the scaling and clarity. Absolute bees knees. Ducks nuts feels.

    • My only complaint with these (and it's not going to be unique to these monitors) but they are really susceptible to leaving a shadow behind when something high contrast is in the screen.

For example if you watch a 10 min video on YouTube in the standard player size and then go to a dark page, you'll see the outline of the player for a few minutes. My background rotates between a few photos I took and some of them will cause this.

Minor annoyance and it goes away after a few mins.

      • +2

That should absolutely not be happening.

        • Also does not happen to my 2 monitors.

          • @ronnknee: Happens to mine but I can only see it on grey-ish colours and it disappears after a while. I bought it over a year ago, maybe the newer ones don't have this issue.

      • For example if you watch a 10 min video on YouTube in the standard player size and then go to a dark page, you'll see the outline of the player for a few minutes.

Eh, I agree with the other poster, this should not be happening. I've owned the S2721QS for close to 2 years and have never seen this before.

  • I know the chances might be really low, but does anyone knows HDMI to USBC working solution? Want to connect my console to a USB-C monitor.

    • Not sure if this is what you're asking but I sometimes use this as a PS5 monitor - I just bought a cheap cable off Amazon for USBC to HDMI connection.

  • +1

I got one of this last year through another eBay sale (non eBay Plus) for $299.

One of the best purchases that I've made.

Perfect for the home office when I'm working from home. Crisp and clear word and excel documents and good aspect ratio. I use 175% scaling on Windows 10.

But the speakers on these are really weak. Also there's a headphone jack under the monitor but when I plug in some Apple standard earpods sound still comes out of the laptop itself.

    • It's a good deal, hope this monitor still have this budget price in the future!

  • S2721QS has built-in speakers

    • The sound quality is absolutely atrocious though (as one would expect). Not usable except in an emergency.

  • Really stupid question, but is it easy to scale content in Windows on these 4K monitors? I wouldn't like my windows to show up tiny AF.

And does Windows remember the settings or would you have to re-scale every time after rebooting?

    • +2

You can set it to like 150% and it will remember it but some old programs may have problem didn't scale properly.

    • would you have to re-scale every time after rebooting - of course not.

27 4k in my opinion works better on Windows than on Mac. 150% or 175% looks great. On Mac you have to set to 200% to make it look good but that make everything big.

      • Also on Linux Mint you can only do 200% which I find rather annoying.

  • Buy!

  • Seriously considering this moving from a crappy Acer 27" 1440p monitor.

Want a little extra vertical real estate for seeing more in visual studio code on a Mac. Am I going to be squinting too much on a 27" 4k if I want to actually get some benefit from those extra vertical pixels? Should I be opting for a 32" instead?

    • By the time you set scaling, for office work, you're back at 1440 effective anyway. Waste of money.

You need to keep what you've got or buy a bigger monitor.

      • Thank you, that was my fear. I might hold off for a good 32” deal.

        • just get a 4k tv lol

  • Has anyone experienced random on and off flickering or monitor switching?

    • Nope, had this monitor since it was released i think i paid around $580 for it, its been great. use it for work, light PC gaming & PS4. I also rotate the monitor vertically for work & use with another monitor.

      • oh yeah the speakers are very average, but the monitor has audio out

    • i used to with my gen 8 GPU …..work gave me a new laptop last year and problem is gone , no more random blanking / switching.

    • I've had that with a 1050ti going into power save mode, disabling power saving on the GPU fixed it

    • Has anyone experienced random on and off flickering or monitor switching?

I experienced this, and it turned out to be due to a dodgy DisplayPort cable. I had to buy a VESA certified cable to solve this issue.
      https://www.amazon.com.au/Club3D-CAC-2068-DisplayPort-Cable-…

That was just my experience, but yours could be due to different reasons, YMMV.

The Dell S2722QC is an updated version of the Dell S2721QS with many of the same features, but there are a few differences. They're built the same and have similar picture quality with an IPS panel with wide viewing angles and a 4k resolution. However, the main differences are with the inputs; while the S2722QC has a USB-C input and two USB 3.0 inputs, the S2721QS has a DisplayPort input, which the S2722QC doesn't have. The S2722QC has a slightly quicker response time, but other than that, both monitors are similar.

  • any 4k 120+hz monitor deals?

  • +1

The price they put on the receipt is the price before the discount, so will be over $300 on the receipt for tax purposes.
Any thoughts on how to prove you paid under $300 if asked for proof by ATO? Bank statement?

    • Paypal receipt will show the actual price you paid.

    • You just say 80% time used for work purpose so 80% of the receipt price to claim.

      • that's now how it works… If above 300, you will need to depreciate over 3-5 years.
        Wheras under 300, it's a 1-year write off

  • Have this monitor, can confirm it's great. Use it for work, leisure and console gaming.

    • Works great with PS5 and Series X.

  • This or wait for the S3221QS deal , being waiting for the $369 S3221QS deal to come back for a while :(

    • If you can wait - wait.
If you can't wait - buy.

  • Code doesn’t work?

    • +1

      code works, hurry.

      • yep purchased!

  • +1

Looks like the code only works for a quantity of one. Was trying to get two and the code didn't work.

    • separate order also not working as well…

  • Estimated 5 July delivery date….ouch

    • I bought this last year and they always quote this long delivery time.

I got mine delivered in 2 weeks.

  • Did the code work on 2 x monitors?

    • As soon as I changed the qty >1, wouldn't work for me.

      I fomo'd and bought 3x at $340 since I need them on one receipt for work ; _ ;

Very attempting as currently using P2421D 2.5k from last deal. Any reason that I can save a $299 apart from non-usbc please? Appreciate.

  • When I put the code in at the checkout (PWE4K) it says in red: This code can't be applied to your order. Does anyone know why this is?

  • Ordered one. Delivered by 5 July…

  • Code worked. FYI I did have trouble initially because I had an old international address saved. Thank you!

  • +1

Keep in mind Tax invoice might show the full price (more than 299 AUD)

    • It did for my previous purchases with dell ebay.

  • @dealbot
thank you for the deals you organise !
    I am after 2k 27" one if possible !

  • Excellent. Grab 2 with two different ebay account with the promotion code.

  • I'm looking to upgrade my secondary 7yo Samsung 24" monitor that I primarily use just for watching Netflix, Youtube/Twitch streams, and scrolling through Discord. Would this be the monitor to snap up or should I look elsewhere?

    • This would be perfect if you don't mind the bigger size 27". It's 60Hz so scrolling isn't as smooth like a high refresh monitor but for video and static elements it's pretty much perfect. It has HDR but it's pretty rubbish but that applies to most monitors.

    • I was in the same situation as yours, I got my 24" monitor since 2015 and Samsung brand (what a coincidence lol)
and then I decided to buy new 27" monitor with higher res and refresh rate on last Christmas, and I did not regret it at all. Man I wish I've bought it long way back then..

Point is, just go ahead and buy it, if you want to have new "experience" feeling, tho I personally prefer 32" for 4k res.

  • So if i buy 1x using
    Coupon:PWE4k get $137.25 discount
    Coupon:DSLL22 get $95.98 discount

  • Hi, currently its listed at $436.25 after 22% discount its $340.28.

how do I get the price down to $299?

    Thanks.

    • +1

Make sure you have Ebay Plus and apply the discount code

      • Thanks this works!

  • This has been on the dell outlet store, at this price, for weeks. I know because I bought two, and have been having a true f'ing nightmare sorting out delivery with startrack ignoring pickup requests, and dell's indian support denying it's even been dispatched.

Actually it was a buck cheaper on the store.

    • That's refurbished tho..

      • Often it isn't. These were offered with a pixel perfect 3 year premium warranty so you tell me.

        • I love the dell outlet store. But it’s not exactly the same as buying new.

  • bought one cant wait to get them delivered

  • newbie question: do nornal laptops support 4k monitors?
