"Economy Lite" = travel with no checked baggage? No thanks.

True ozbargainers only travel with carry on.I never have checked baggage.

      • Virgin used to include it in their fares. Just a new revenue stream

It's fine by me. For the airline it streamlines their freight contracts (better idea of passenger cargo loads well ahead of the flight) and encourages passengers to travel light (more cargo space). They can pass the savings on and customers only pay for what they actually need.

Seems like a clear win win, essentially cargo contract subsiding your travel costs.

They still do, all they did was create a new tier which cut out checked luggage and seat selection so those wanting to save a small amount can do so. Only economy lite has neither of them, economy choice and above are still as normal

        • No, it's not. As said above, it's a win for those without hold baggage.

  • Melb to Denpasar from $449
Hobart to Denpasar via Melb $399

Often happens. Auckland to many Asia destinations goes via Melbourne/Sydney - but from Sydney/Melbourne it's almost worth flying to Auckland first…(price wise)

      • Good to know…
        Now to move to Auckland😉

  • Anyone know if you can boost these to business for a reasonable number of points ?
