I have 3 pairs, soon to be 4 (thanks Op), all have has no issues. Two of them get used every day.

      • why so many pairs?

        • +1

For desktop, laptop, phone. You can pair two devices to them, but not my thing. I use them so much, good to have a spare pair:-)

    • Good find!

    • Many thanks, I took the plunge, with your Coupon advice.
Not having tried this design before, hopefully I can make calls with them ok also ?

Should be obvious, but do not buy these for music. I use these for YouTube, Podcasts and audiobooks. They also work well for phone calls.

The great thing about them is being able to hear the phone ring, someone speaking to you, or the amazon (eBay in this case) guy knock at the door. When my serious cans are on, the world is blocked out…

    • Do you mean music just doesn’tsound great, or literally unusable? I’m considering something like this for cycling- safer in traffic- but I want to listen to music.

      • It depends how much you like quality music. If AM radio and MP3s are OK, you might be OK with these. I would always put on decent cans for music.

I got the aftershokz specifically for cycling music. They're great, they've got shit bass. They're good for phone calls or discord. I can game on them. I'd buy them again if they broke. I like this model as it has a USB-C charge. One benefit I didnt' realise is how good they are when it's 40 degrees, they're low profile so much cooler than my XM3s.

  • But it still leaks sound to other people even though they say bone conducting technology.. it touches out bone only so why a friend sit next to me can hear? Unless my bone touching my friend bones….

Mini open speaker headset is more correct…..

My Mrs says she can not hear these at all. I have them on every night watching YouTube while she has the TV on. Also, no-one ever mentioned them leaking in the office.

I just tried, and if you turn them up loud, they leak. But I am in a quiet root ATM. A TV, or office noises would drown them out at mid volume.

These vibrate, but that’s exactly how normal speakers work. They vibrate the air. The difference is that they don’t have some sort of membrane to vibrate on, so when you put it on, the vibrations occur on your temples.

You can also stick it onto a bottle and get some sound out of it. But that means that it still vibrates the air, so you can still hear it from around you.

The design is focused on outdoor sports/running, so it’s not generally an issue.
