        Building up stock wouldn’t help. It would just mean that lots of people get it at once but afterwards there will still be the same number of people waiting for it, since neither demand nor supply has changed, just the timing

    This is crazy. I got one in October last year and I'm not tech savvy to the point where I can set stock alerts for various stores etc, so just kept checking ozbargain. Got lucky as checked at the right time. At this rate you're better off getting a pre-order and waiting.

    I think an Amazon drop lately that lasted longer, big w is a bit temperamental. When go too early from alerts it shows as OOS but keep refreshing and it goes in stock. I missed out a few times because I didn't know and thought it was sold out.

      For BigW you need to play around with checking different post codes to find the stock and then you can checkout with your normal postal address. The website is a bit odd.

    People are desperate for PS5….. it should be listed as an essential item in the CPI basket.

    Come on Labor - there should be free PS5s for those who can’t afford one, it can’t be just limited to the select elite few.

      As at the end of March this year, 19.3 million PS5 units have shipped globally. As a comparison, the PS4 shipped around 100 million units over the first 6 years and ~120 million to date. And the PS5 is even more in-demand, and the global gaming market is much larger in 2022 than is was in 2013.
