For NSW, I think the best option with this link is to go with Red Energy fixed rate. Too bad I already switched to Origin fixed rate yesterday.

Pretty sure the cooling off period is 10 business days. You can cancel for no reason with no financial loss to you.

      • Hmm I'm very tempted

      • ^10 day cooling off period - this is true, but check your T&Cs to see if yours has a cooling off period.

        • +1

Cooling off periods are mandated and if not provided you should contact the ombudsman. I'm just not sure if it is 10 days or 10 business days.

Red Energy comparison for me (NSW) had Red Energy higher than Origin.

    • Agree.
For me, Red Energy was cheaper than Origin and Energy Australia

    • Where did you check? For me Simply Energy was the cheapest on https://www.energymadeeasy.gov.au yesterday but today it's not even listed on it. Not sure what happened.

      • I got same results as well. I compared my existing bill and the website advised that simply energy was cheapest only to find that no such offer was available on Simply Energy's website. :(

    • Sorry folks. I should've specified I'm only looking for fixed rate options. Variable is definitely cheaper than fixed but as ReAmped CEO said, secure fixed rate if you can.

  • Sorry but they are telling customers to leave? And they are getting rewarded to do so? The company must be about to go bust.

Has anyone actually figured out what ReAmped "new" rates are going to be?

I got an email from them on May 1, about a price hike effected May 24, but the rates are still competitive. Not worthwhile switching.

It's not clear to me how quickly reamped can change their rates again.

    • Entire discussion here

      • Thanks - I've read that thread in some detail, but there's nothing concrete about where ReAmped prices are going beyond the recent hike effective May 24.

        • +1

probably cheaper than everyone elses anyway. stick it out

    • +1

      Probably early July

This information was made available to customers on the 9th of May. New rates here.

      • This information was made available to customers on the 9th of May

Yeah - I got something similar (probably different market to you). Those rates are still competitive.

        • Just realised that, yes, rates may be different based on location. The rates aren't too bad, but when compared against Origin, I found them to be about $15 more (when based on last months bill).

  • +6

Hmm didnt get the email, but got two emails really urging me to leave with no information on what the new rates will be

    • same here….would be nice to receive $100 as parting gift :-)

    • Didn't get the email either but I ported over to Lumo the next day I received the email from ReAmped asking me to leave.

      • Yeah, request to move too soon too! But can't find anybody else better to swap to anyway.

    • Check their email from the 9th of May. New rates here.

      • I got their first email about leaving on 31st may, on handshake plan, nothing about rates just a graph about wholesale pricing i think

Ah, companies paying people not to use their service. What a time to be alive.

Check finder plans vs going to a supplier direct, I found that the econnex shopback/cashrewards plans for Tango energy cost more than going to Tango direct, and I know another ozbargainer found the same … the $100's gotta come from somewhere :(

    • how? the rate i received via CR is the same on Tango website, $0.2068/kwh and $0.66/day for next 12 months . i am in Melbourne Southeast

      • +1

They are usually different plans. It's the same with iSelect, Compare the market, Big Switch, Econnex, all those comparison sites have special plans that are usually different that the default or the companies cheapest plan. They make money from providing you a service'.

      • For mine, the SB econnex plan was 20c more day on supply

  • waiting for email with unique code, when did people get this email?

  • The Origin deals that were offered are all variable plan, wonder if switching to variable plan and take advantage of this $100 gonna end up saving more or costing more when Origin decided to increase the price too.

Anyone seen any fixed plan that have deal too?

    • Origin is fixed for 12 months.

    • There's both - just make sure you're applying for the right (fixed) one

      • But the ones that I got through the finders link are only variable plan

        • I haven't tested the link as such.

Hmmm, then it would be a bit of a toss if $100 only available to "some" plans (which may include variable…) is worth it, as you've suggested

  • Hey folks. I've been with ReAmped for 3 months now, and wondering if I should switch? I'm getting a $50 monthly referral discount for 6 months (so 3 more months to go). Makes sense to stick with ReAmped till the discount is over?

    • Stick until your prices go up. You have 5 days to then find a new deal.

i got an email telling me they can't put their prices up to August, and after that its fixed for 6 or 12 months (can't remember). Putin might have stopped (profanity) around in the Ukraine by then and prices back to normal

  • +1

If you received the $100 Woolworths gift card "quit" offer, don't accept it before its expiration day. I believe ReAmped will increase this to $200, or even $500.

Look at the spot price: https://aemo.com.au/en/energy-systems/electricity/national-e… We are having $600/mWh now! This is a 1000% increase in a month! ReAmped will lose millions of dollars in a single day!

    • Hold ! Hold ! Apes together strong

  • +1

Interesting they seemed to send this to Qld supplied customers, not Vic…

Reamped probably getting a fat cheque from Finder to help pay their electricity bill next month :P

  • For ACT electricity customers it may be worth waiting to see by how much prices will increase, given our renewable power purchasing agreement

  • Okay I switched, how/when do I receive the $100 gift card? Haven't seen any emails

    • What did they say when you asked them?

    • That's by design. and the fine print says 90 day wait for voucher so you forget about it and never chase it up.

  • I have already initiated the process before them sending an email….can I still get this?

  • Went with finder and signed up to Origin variable xl plan. Got an email confirmation email with contract and rates within 2 days but haven't heard anything from finder about the $100 woolies card. Anyone else got theirs yet?

*edit, just realised it's 90 days after sign up.

    • Yeah not sure about this as they don't communicate anything about the woolies card. Guessing finder will e-mail us?

  • Are we meant to get any emails (either from Finder or our new energy provider) which indicate the $100 woolies gift card is given to us after 90 days?

I cant see anything in either emails from Finder or my new energy provider (Origin) contract pdfs or elsewise.

  • When I use finder, it's not recommending Red Energy despite it being the cheapest for me. Is there a reason why Finder only recommends a selected few?

    • cause they're the only companies that have agreed to pay finder's commissions

  • Doesn't recommend any companies at all for me. Guess they all gave up?
