I think this is the same deal as last year.

Echo Auto is not compatible with some cars that support Bluetooth to play music. Check if your vehicle is compatible with Echo Auto if using Bluetooth.

The included air vent mount is not compatible with some style of air vents. Check if your vehicle's air vents are compatible with the included mount.

Is Echo Auto compatible with my smartphone?
Echo Auto connects to Alexa through the Alexa app on your phone and uses your existing smartphone data plan for connectivity and other features. Mobile service provider charges may apply.

        So you have to turn on your phone hotspot and connect manually to echo auto everytime you drive? I watched videos online but no one showed that part

          @bheart: No, it connects via bluetooth. I have to manually open Alexa App everytime I drive.

    Alexa doesn't support free Spotify. I can't play that on my echo device either

  Not sure I get the features here but I ask Siri to do the same things listed here while connected to my car audio via Bluetooth…

  I guess it's useful as a Bluetooth "bridge" if your car doesn't have Bluetooth. Or doesn't have android/apple carplay.
  Rules out most of recent cars

  I have a colleague who has one of these and he says that it is awful and doesn't really pick up what he is saying. On paper it sounds great but I am interested in feedback from more people who have this device and whether it's great or overrated.

  I actually got one of these last year,
  The "alexa" do respones better while driving with road noise or music on thanks to the mics, buttons works well wihtout need to keep look for operating.
  basicly acting as extra mics for alexa on the phone.
  But one big issue is if your phone signal or internet drops, it is dead as well, even can't play any music that's already on the phone. spotfy would keep looping the recent songs that's already downloaded when internet is down, but this device just stopped everything once offline almost instantly.
