Xiaomi Mijia Omni Sweeping and Mopping Robot Vacuum US$830.82 / A$1182.47 Shipped @ Lanjing Store Aliexpress

160

Seems like a pretty good deal on a brand new product by Dreame (one of Xiaomi sub-brands), something I found reading https://www.notebookcheck.net/Xiaomi-Mijia-self-cleaning-rob…

Works out to be less than 1200 AUD with free shipping (if you use Aliexpress's AUD option, cheaper still if you have a 0% international transaction fee card), and this gets you an all in one dock that auto removes dust, refills water tank, cleans and hot dries the washing mop pads, lifts the mop pads up by 7mm if it detects carpet - better than the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra that retails like 2700 AUD here or Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni at 2500 AUD here.

I'm not buying a sulking robot.

  • cant seem to find any reviews. Does it auto-empty the dust? Google integration? Noticed it lifts the mop pads over carpet (great!). 4000pa is short of the 5000pa in the others. Object avoidance?

    • There aren't really any reviews yet outside of China I assume. Xiaomi Home should be available I hope, there should be object avoidance too. Dreame is a pretty solid brand overall, looking at the past reviews of their other products Dreame W10, Dreame Z10 Pro etc.

Omni vs G10S vs J2 Chinese Review

G10S is the Chinese version of S7 MaxV Ultra, half of the price but the app only works in China
G10S is the best, Omni is not as good, but if you take the price into consideration, it is excellent!

I believe that omni in the video is the ecovacs deebot x1 omni which is different to the xiaomi mijia omni robot in this deal. Would get the g10s pro if that could work outside of China…

this or the Roborock S7 MaxV?

    • Wondering the same. The S7 MaxV Ultra is more than double this price so this seems compelling but would love to see some reviews pop up on YouTube soon hopefully.

  • I have a funny feeling that this won't be very good at mopping floors….

    • They all seem to be a variation on damp rag dragging

      • That's what I'm concerned about in terms of buying of a mopping vacuum, your statement I believe reflects most robots with that capability do. That's why i am waiting for a only vacuum robot like new roborock q5+.

        • S7 max v seems to have improved mopping with vibra mopping action vs the old school drag.

@Eyetie: Bit like sonic toothbrushes versus oscillating I guess. S7 MaxV does need a better wetting distribution method though, as the water tank drips in one spot on the mop - the outsides dry out quicker. But with half the house tile or wood, super glad I got mopping ability.

            • @Janko: Good to hear it's working great for wood/tiles, i personally just have tiles. Are you referring to the s7 maxV or another model?

              • +1

@loudnoises: s7 MaxV. I find I take the mop off halfway through each floor to rewet it, or sometimes chuck water or floor cleaner on the floor to cater.

It's definitely not as good as a mop with elbow grease and it is dragging a dirty mop over the floor (I don't have the Ultra dock), but in practice, house is looking much better as it'll mop once week instead of me doing it once every few months :)

And kitchen I'll vacuum/mop every day (I cook and grind coffee a lot) instead of maybe once a week - so I'm not tramping coffee grinds or vege scraps around the house. Hence decided to go the vaccum bot route instead of a cleaner once a week.

    • What they call supersonic vibration won’t be as efficient as rotating mops, I’ve almost watched all the videos on YouTube lol. Dreame w10 has the best mopping efficiency, but there are downsides as well, such as you can’t vacuum the carpet during mopping, it won’t go into areas with carpets with auto detection.

  • Recently bought the Dreame W10 Pro from Taobao for $750aud+shipping, totaling $790ish.
Still waiting for it to arrive, takes about 6 weeks.

    • great price. tell us how it goes. I found an Amazon dealer for $855 (thats with au amazon partner warranty). They didnt deliver. amazon refunded me

      • Not shipped yet, waiting for free bonuses (consumables like filter mop heads and brush, as well as a free air fryer and hair dryer lol) to reach the courier warehouse and despatch all together, will keep you posted.

  • How does this compare to Roborock S7?

    • Good enough mopping and automation considering price

A lot of money for no warranty product

  • No warranty= no deal.

This could be great but what happens when it stops working ?

    • Sweep itself up and chuck itself into bin, big risk buying for no warranty.

I think I'd stick to the tried and true Roborock S7. So many happy customers and positive reviews.

It's a good price, but no deal considering the lack of warranty

    • +1

Warranty on Roborock is poor anyway for products this expensive - 1 year.

Dyson give the same on refurb units, double that on new.
