A night's accommodation saves maybe $150, the FF points about the same so it's only really worth it if you actually spend more than another 4-5 nights in a hotel over the year.

You want to share a link for the Sofitel Melbourne for $150 please?

Other great redemption include the Sofitel sydney (darling harbour) and the Sofitel Noosa. These properties usually go for $300+ per night.

That’s why you choose the right hotel for your free night to cover the signup cost, We use the dining benefits quite regularly as we have 3 Accor properties close to us with great restaurants attached, we save 50% off food and non alcoholic drinks, and when we stay at hotels during the year each stay we have managed room upgrades without asking due to the gold status. Great program imo.

      • Does one need to be staying at the hotel as well to receive the dining discounts on the day?

        • +1

          No

  • Have joined the ALL Plus Explorer for few years
Enjoyed the program especially comes with 50% off restaurant bills
and the guarantee 10% off RRP on all ACCOR rooms

personally don't see much difference between Silver and Gold status
It is still a nice treat that Business Explorer starts from Gold, as its much easier to get into Platinum
Platinum is a good tier as it comes with complimentary breakfast in Asia Pacific

  • What's the free night redemption availability like? Are there restrictions? Also, it says up to 50% off room bookings… What is the typical saving?

    • +1

you can search which hotel and room to redeem the free night
typically rooms under price of $400 in my experience

50% off rooms are via their Red Room promotion
will receive these offers from time to time via emails
usually only for specific hotels in specific period of stay
great for those who can take leaves in off peak seasons

I literally signed up a day ago. I’m so cut. Haha.

Edit: just saw I can cancel during cooling off period. Thank God.

  • I can't work out if you already have a Qantas Business Rewards account, does that mean you get the full 10000 points? Or just 5000? It looks like 5000 is a sign up bonus for new accounts only, but can't be sure.

Will that work for the qantas personnel account?

  • I used to have an Ibis business card which worked ok for me. https://ibisbusiness.accor.com/#/auth

  • @olo - do you work for them? If yes, you need to declare it bruh.

  • do you get any cash back via shopback or cr?

  • Don't you get this free with some credit cards plus a lot more points as sign up bonus. How is this a deal?

  • are the rates any better than Accor plus (not business explorer) members?

  • I'd probably apply for this but their websites say Accor Plus Business Explorer and Qantas Business Rewards require the member to have an ABN.

    • use a Sole Trader ABN?

      • The ATO doesn't look positively on people grabbing an ABN if not operating a business.

        • +1

You need an ABN if you are doing some types of contract work. Eg. Uber, gig economy jobs, etc. I wouldn't say these people are "operating a business".

  • I signed up to this (thanks!) and it's showing I have Silver status. Does the Gold happen automatically?

    • I signed up today. It's silver as well. Have you change to gold now?

      • Just checked and yes, now Gold! So took about 24 hours.

        Nice.
