Price has reduced by $50 a year but there are major changes.

Thanks for Spaceship Dee on reddit:

Summary: What’s Better? Hotel discount jumps to 15% (was 10%), and applies globally, not just Asia Pacific.

Instant Gold status (was Silver), helping secure better benefits like possible upgrades.

Two Stay Plus nights (was 1)

Annual fee drops in Australia (from $399 to $349).

What’s Worse? Dining discount is cut: now 30% off food (was 50% max).

Stay Plus nights must be used as part of a two-night minimum booking. Previously, a single night could be used any time; now, you must stay at least two consecutive nights to redeem the two “free” nights together.

This reduces flexibility—solo travelers or those on short trips lose out.

No Stay Plus nights for former Traveller/Supplementary membership holders.

20 Status Nights → 30, but this is relevant only for those seeking higher status. Though you can no longer stack multiple Accor + memberships like the China one.

What’s the Same? “Red Hot Rooms” deals, 15% off drinks, exclusive event access—these remain substantially unchanged.

Coverage of 1,300+ hotels in Asia Pacific (for Stay Plus).

In summary Value for those booking longer stays (at least two nights at once) may improve thanks to two bundled Stay Plus nights.

Short-stay and frequent diners lose out (lower food discount, less Stay Plus flexibility).

Travelers seeking Gold status benefit, as do those booking globally with the higher 15% discount.

    What is this garbage

    • +2

free with Amex Plat ($1,450/year fee) 😅

      • +10

        An unusual definition of ‘free’.

        • spend money to save money - I wouldn't pay for it alone but budget stays for business travel makes Platinum easier to obtain for holiday time benefits

  • 20 Status Nights → 30, but this is relevant only for those seeking higher status. Though you can no longer stack multiple Accor + memberships like the China one.

Just FYI, I did this yesterday and it still works so it's not disabled at least at the moment.

    • Can someone please expand on the stacking. Can you have multiple memberships and get multiple bonus status nights?

      • +1

I'm not sure about other memberships, but the Chinese one allowed me to stack another 20 nights. They have a 5, 20 and 30 might memberships at various prices (which are on sale at the moment) but the only way to buy them is using WeChat which was a pain to set up and needed someone to verify my account, was then a pain to purchase through Google translating the app.

The membership only gives you free nights and discounts in China, but the bonus nights go across memberships, or at least they did for me.

    • Just FYI it's disabled on mine and limited to 30 as of 1 Oct.

      • So you added a new China membership after the date and you didn't get the extra 5/20/30 nights added on? Because I got the bonus 20 from China on top of the 30 standard

        • On 1 Oct I received 10 instead of 30.

          • @roddy84: I think that's different to what the OP and me are talking about. The Chinese ALL membership gives you a bonus set of points on sign up not on a specific date, so you use it to stack existing points whether those are from plus or whatever other way you've originally accumulated points.

People weren't sure if it would work after October 1, but I tired it on the 3rd and it worked still.

The standard plus membership for Asia Pacific got updated to 30 total points so on October 1 most users would get a bonus 10 points as previously you would have been on 20.

The China membership is used to try and get to platinum before the calendar year ends.

            • @sp3tsnaz: I got the 30 bonus accor nights on 1 October when the new program commenced. Because i already had 20 it only applied 10 instead of 30.

I think it's exactly what you're talking about but you haven't had the 30 bonus nights applied so will need to wait to see it doesn't work.

  • It was already very hard to find a free night, not with book 2 nights and get the 2nd one free, I am struggling to find anything over the weekend. Earlier I could book either a friday or Saturday and then break it, it's all gone to rubbish now.

    • +3

Enjoyed top floor room at Novotel Olympic park on a Saturday night after Paul Kelly recently for free

      • Have had plenty of one nighters but it's gotten harder with the second night condition especially over the weekend when Friday and Saturday combined.

Sat and Sunday is much easier.

    • +1

Just saved $500 on a 2 night weekend stay at a Sofitel. Can’t grumble at that, and still have one Stay Plus left

      • I did the same with Pullman and have another night left. It's much easier than finding weekend nights with IHG Ambassador.

    • It’s a lot easier now I find, it appears the free night can be standard inventory not specific dedicated free nights.

You just need to find two standard lowest public rate nights and the higher cost night is free. Worked for every date I checked at Sofitel when previously they had absolutely nothing available for months using stay plus night.

      • I am mainly looking overseas in Asia Pacific, some weird things happening, night is available when I check for 1 person, not available for 2.

  • Does anyone know if you book a 2 night stay using the new Stay Plus, will you get 2 status nights from it, even though you only pay for 1?

    • +3

You can just have something charged to your room and your free nights will count towards your stay.

      • You probably don't need to with the new ones because you're paying for one night…..

        • That's what I was wondering, all the info about 'put a charge on the room' seems to be when it was a stand alone free night.

If you still need to charge something to the room, I wonder if the charge needs to fall on the exact night which is free, or if it can be any point during the stay.

It might be easier to get clarification from Accor I think.

          • @Kiwi131313: UPDATE:

            From their chatbot:

Regarding your upcoming 2-night stay with Stay Plus, you will typically be credited for 2 Status Nights if you charge something to the room during your stay. This charge does not necessarily have to be on the exact night that is free; it can occur at any point during your stay.

However, please note that the specific policies may vary by hotel, so it's always a good idea to check with the hotel directly for confirmation. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask! 🌟

  • AND 7% cashback from Shopback

30% off dining now applies to food and 15% off beverages

    • +3

15% for drinks but up from 0

This isn't really a deal. It is a product. When it's on sale or we get it cheaper with a VPN, that is a deal.

    • I made a thread on this, they’ve updated pricing for ALL APAC countries - it’s now near equal. The 10% cashback is easier and worth more than geo hacks now.

If they do any future country specific discounts this may differ, none active right now though.

      Edit: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/921359

Lowest is $339 - better off with cashback and AUD, unless they do country specific specials again.

  • Two questions for any Accor veterans out there:

    • Do two rooms booked for one night satisfy the two nights requirement for complementary nights?

    • If I'm gold now, with plus membership expiring at the end of the year, if I renew would I get the bonus nights now? This would bump me to platinum.

    • Hi mate, if possible can you pls do me a favour n check the price got 3ppl staying at Cassia Phuket (Bang Tao) for dates Jan 14-20 for the 2 bedroom suite and 2 bedroom loft pls. Also pls let me know if there is a free night available. Thanks in advance.

Unsure if free nights available, I've already used mine. But for that room rate, it's highly doubtful

        • @undercut, that price doesn't include the tax (vat) right?

      1. No
      2. You get the nights, it could push you to platinum
    • Youn go to Platinum.
You can only get 1 night per date. Its written somewhere more succinctly in the t&c's. Even if you book 2 different hotels on the same date, they only give you points and status for 1 night.

  • Not worth renewing now when mine expires next year…

    .

  • +3

    I won’t be renewing.

Part of the reason I got it was 50% off for two people dining. Now it’s terrible.

    • Tried to use the discount in Bangkok today. Was told my Platinum and Accor Plus is not entitled to the discount. Didn't bother asking why due to communication difficulties…

      .

      • discount rates vary from countries - it’s up to 50%

    • Yeah, “free” stay often comes with fine print like blackout dates or extra charges for peak nights/weekends. I had to pay $60 for a night at Pullman in September.

      • That may be the tax. Happened to me as well with pullman

        • Nope I don't think it's the tax. there were $0 with some other hotels on offer. Say Novotel next to the south wharf.

  • +3

Doesn't sound as good as before and free stay sounds more like buy one get one free night?
Considering to redeem free stay you need stay paid night

  • +1

Mentioned this last month, is this price change a bargain - or the permanent price due to a product change?

No more free night, you actually have to PAY for it to get the other night "free".

  • +1

honestly speaking its not worth the sticker price….

  • +1

If we have gold currently with 37 nights and are not due to renew til March 26, if we do renew now will that boost us to Platinum for remainder of this year and all of next?

  • This worked out well for me. Needed 4 nights at Novotel. Bought this, two nights become free (two seperate bookings) and then I get gold for a year.

    • but it is not technically free because you paid $349 for that two 'free' nights. At $175 per night if it's still worth it for you then great… :)

      • You’re right. But I guess I got the gold membership for free…

        • Did they subsequently cancel the 2nd booking on you? I tried the same thing, and the hotel cited the following condition and was forced to cancel, even on a non-refundable booking. Can only use one Stay Plus free night per stay (a stay being any number of consecutive nights).

  • is that combined with the ACCOR+ BIZ offer (bonus QF+ ACCOR points)?

tried to register but did not see any option to input my ABN

  • Was about to book a 3 night stay on the gold coast for 4 of us around chrissy.

Became a member and redeemed one of the nights.

I had to pay $200 for the "free" night but it still saved me over $600. Minus the $350 joining fee im still in front by $250 plus i have cheaper food and an extra night to use over the next year.

So if you have an upcoming trip that will likely use an Accor hotel, I would certainly consider this membership.

  • Hi there,
I am considering becoming a member but want to know if I can use the perks for an upcoming family holiday.

Looking to travel to Phuket- Novotel kata Avista hotel from 14-18 December - family room 1 king and 1 queen bed currently $1393 with breakfast (2 adults + 2 kids) or $1027 with breakfast for 3 nights 14-17 December.

If I buy this package, can I access the 2 free nights for that room on any of the dates above? How much can I save? I want to see if I can get an idea beforehand because I won’t have much use if I can’t use it for this trip. Any help is much appreciated!

    • +1

      14th-18th Dec:
      Non-ref $1160
      Non-ref breakfast $1248
      Ref $1289
      Ref breakfast $1304
      Taxes additional $216-$248

      14th - 17th Dec:
      Non-ref $854
      Non-ref breakfast $920
      Ref $949
      Ref breakfast $961
      Taxes additional $160-$184

      No free night available.

      • Thanks kiwi, just saved me $349 and a whole lotta disappointment!

  • Description needs updating to clarify its 15% off the lowest public rate, which means no special rates and it doesn’t stack with other discounts.

It use to be 10% off any rate and would stack with the 5% member rate, so 15% minimum in APAC that would stack with 20% off promos

  • Trying to work out if worth it.
Any chance someone can lookup Novotel in Phuket for week stay from 17th April for 2 adults 1 child?
    Vintage or Kata Avista
Or if there are any hot deals for this week?
    Really appreciate your help.
If there is a link that allows me to check prior to purchase please let me know. Cheers
