Free 20 Status Nights for New and Existing Accor Plus Members (+ Extra 20 Status Nights for Renewal)

1321

Easier now to get upgrade to next status

Free 20 status nights given for new and existing members + an additional extra 20 status nights for renewal before 31 December 2023

Gold status is the sweet spot for room upgrades and late check out

I'm a fan of using the 50% off restaurants at the buffet at Suzette (previously Thyme) in Brisbane and The Tenary in Sydney. Let me know if any other good restaurants!

Status tier requirements and benefits
Silver - 10 nights, free wifi, free 2 drinks, late check out
Gold - 30 nights, all above + room upgrade, late check out
Platinum - 60 nights, all above + suite upgrade, Executive lounge access
Diamond - 26k status points, free gold status of your choice

Ozbargain Accor Plus deals
Explorer deal 1 free night $205 - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/767946

Explorer plus deal 2 free nights $388 - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/789806

Possible Citi Prestige Hack
A little hack by stacking with Explorer plus with Citi Prestige (Stay 4 consecutive nights and only pay for 1 night)

Use 2 stay plus free nights from Accor explorer plus + 1 night free from Citi Prestige (if staying 4 consecutive nights). Total 4 nights and pay only for 1 night.

Double check Citi Prestige terms in case if this doesn't work due to using 2 stay plus free nights but I'm assuming it should work.

I'm guessing you don't get 2 night free stay and 50% food, 15% drinks in Asia as would if you had a plus membership

The tier benefits are the same i.e. room upgrade, free welcome drink, late check out and free wifi

      • Thanks mate, I might give this a miss then as rarely going to Asia. I do have IHG Diamond Elite as well from a previous ozbargain deal so hopefully that suffice for our upcoming Tokyo trip.

        • 15% off drinks is only for asia, rest is for both. IHG Diamond elite benefits better

I got both Accor plus (currently in platinum) and IHG Diamond Elite (also with IHG Ambassador)
I feel that for domestic (australia) and Asia pacific travel I tend to like Accor plus more
As there are more choice of hotels and price range to choose from
the dining discount and the perk like lounge access and complimentary breakfast are also nice to have
The dining discount is great especially you can get dining discount even you are not staying in the hotel
In Australia, you can even use multiple Accor plus membership in the same table (1 card, 2 guests, 50% off . 2 cards, 4 guests, 50% off….)

For IHG Diamond Elite with additional Intercontinental Ambassador
I mainly just stay in Intercontinental hotels
My recently trip to Japan I have been staying 4 nights in InterContinental Yokohama Grand and it was great
(I pay for the Ambassador mainly just to retain the Diamond Elite status, its a known hack and has been providing great value on its own)

If you are travelling a lot you should consider getting the AMEX platinum charge
its a top tier charge card (annual fee $1450) but the perks definitely pays off the fee
Platinum charge also comes with complimentary Accor plus as well, so saving you A$395 /year
The $450 travel credit can be used in hotels, car rental, flight tickets etc (booked via AMEX travel)
Then the $400 dining credits ($200 local + $200 global) is pretty easy to use as well <- In my recent trip in Japan, I used the $200 global dining credit to enjoy a delicious Wagu Yakiniku set dinner

The card itself also give you unlimited access to many airport lounge networks, including AMEX centurion lounges, Plaza Premium, priority pass etc.
And the best is even additional card (free to apply) can also bring guest to lounge, meaning you can bring a family of 4 to airport lounge with just 1 card
Also the main reason why I like AMEX Platinum charge over Citi Prestige, which the Prestige PP only can bring 1 guest

The remaining perks of this card include free Amazon Prime membership, free "The Australian" news subscription, $150 Net-a-porter /Mr-porter credit per year etc.

      • Citi PP can offset up to 100k into the homeloan though

        • What does it mean? Can you explain it more?

  • I still have not received an email or stays Signed up to plus this year. Expires next year July. :( would have got me to Gold.

    • Just logged into the app and saw the 20 stays added on. I did not get the email.

  • Still no email for my Amex Accor Plus. What's up with that…

  • So I'm a little confused. They say that "enjoy a bonus of 20 Status Nights for quicker access to the next status level or to retain your current status for longer" and "Silver or Gold member will either be upgraded from Silver to Gold status and from Gold to Platinum status upon receiving the 20 Status Nights bonus, or retain your Silver or Gold status". I am currently Gold All, but that will expire at the end of this year. If I sign up to Plus does that mean I will remain Gold until this time next year? I'm assuming that if I get another ten status points over the next 12 months to add to the 20 bonus I'd retain Gold?

If you sign up Accor plus today it will add 20nights to your current year status night

Once you join plus the joining date will be your anniversary date. Membership status is calculated based or the higher of last year or this year status nights.

If you obtain gold because you have already reached 30status nights in 2022 full year, let say you join plus in Aug2023, you will already have gold status until Aug2024

If this year (2023) you have already stay for 10nights then by adding this 20nights you will be able to retain gold till Aug2025

      • Thanks - I'm actually Gold this year because I was Platinum but due to Covid etc have barely travelled the past few years so slipped to Gold and fully expected to slip to Silver by the end of this year. I do have a few points stacked away, so maybe I might use 4k points to join Plus and extend my Gold status for a few more months. I am going to be doing a bit more travel so the 20 bonus points are likely going to be enough to bump me over into Gold again. Now I need to decide if it's worth going for the Explorer level - 12k points, but that includes a complimentary night….. decisions decisions…. ;-)

  • If I book a hotel while silver status, but then get upgraded to gold with this offer will I still get gold benefits for the stay? Stay isn't until late October.

    • +1

If you becoms gold before the hotel stay, then yes. Bear in mind, stays take around 7 days to register.

  • FWIW Offer came through last night that you can join for 4,000 Reward Points "equivalent to 80 Euros or AUD 130. Accor Plus Traveller Membership’s regular rate is AUD 249"

  • Can anyone with membership check if there are any free nights booking availability for 3 adults at Mercure Tokyo Ginza (Privilege room, 2 Twin beds & sofa - Non Smoking) for 12th to 16th of April 2024?

    • +1

I don’t have any free night to check but can have just stayed in that hotel in June 2023

Good location, very close to train station, and 1min to McDonalds. Room size is pretty small though but reasonable given it’s Ginza (CBD)

    • +1

No free nights with those dates, but half price $202.71

      • I've signed up now but can't seem to get it at half price and see $499 on my phone (The Red Hot Rooms offer is not available with my your criteria) but can't get the desktop site working yet. How did you manage to find the half price? Was it on the desktop site?

  • I have received my status bonus nights and now I'm at Gold tier.. YAY!!!!!

  • Hi, can someone please see what is available in Singapore 21/9/23 and Manila 22/9/23, thank you in advance.

  • Where is 'an additional extra 20 status nights for renewal before 31 December 2023'?
My email shows 'You will also automatically receive a bonus of 20 Status Nights once every 12 months when you renew your Accor Plus membership.'.

Mercure Singapore Bugis - Signature room with queen bed or Signature room with twin beds

Ibis Singapore on Bencoolen - Standard room with Queen bed or Standard twin bed room

Manila 22/09/23 - No free stay plus rooms, but the Novotel Suites Manila at Acqua has red hot rooms for $72.

      • Thank you so much.

  • Confirming the 20 status nights have hit my account, now need another 10 to get to gold

  • Will you get the bonus 20 status nights if your current balance is 0? I got Gold tier by using Qantas points club plus offer and then joined Accor Plus recently but I only see 0 status nights in the app.

  • So joined up using 4k points. Extended my current gold status for a year plus 1 week (rounded up to the end of this month). Almost jumped for the Explorer to get the "free night" but will think about that for next year. I'm curious if people who have booked the free night, when you search for the rooms via Accorplus (https://www.accorplus.com/au/hotels/) and select the "Stay Plus" drop down option, does that mean anything that comes up will be a free night? Accor says that if there isn't something on the chosen location/dates then you might be given options to pay for an upgrade (https://www.accorplus.com/benefits/more-nights/stay-plus-ben…). When I do a search for various hotels it brings up a range of rooms for different prices, but no indication that specific rooms can be booked with credit…. or do you actually need a stay plus credit available before it says anything?

    • +2

You need a SP credit before the search shows the options. Else it will just display standard rates.

      • Dang. Thought that might be the case. Well, might try it next year just for the heck of it. Thanks for letting me know!

  • Accor Plus through Amex - do we get the 20 nights bonus when the mebership gets auto-renewed?
Mine got renewed some time during August but haven't seen the bonus land.

  • Hi guys

I did the Malaysian thing for 2 free nights.

However now I have my membership, when I search for hotels in Boracay and Manila, all of them come up as not being eligible for the 2 free nights??

  • Also with cashrewards, when I am booking my accommodation at accor.com which cashrewards option should i click through (Plus or Live Limitless?)

  • Can anyone please confirm if they've received 20+20 bonus status nights after renewing in Aug? Would be helpful to know before I live chat with AccorPlus.

  • Currently in Boracay, Philippines at the ridiculously expensive Movenpick

50% discount on food is nice. Doesn't offset the fact the room is way overpriced (even with Plus discount) but the food is quality and reasonable value at half off.

Tonight we had 2 x 12" pizzas, a spaghetti and an entree size serving of mussels. After 50% discount + 10% service charge (which is charged on undiscounted price and not discounted) total cost was less than $30 AUD. Not dirt cheap for the Philippines, but given the setting and the quality of the food it was well worth it. Same meal would have been $100 at my local Italian joint in Australia.

Free buffet breakfast each morning + unlimited chocolate and cakes between 3pm and 4pm - I'm going to come home 10kg heavier

  • Be aware the 50% off food only applies to 2 diners outside of Australia, NZ and Fiji.

Even if you have 2 members, outside of those locations you only get 25% off for 4 diners as all other countries don't allow presentation of 2 cards with one bill. We learnt this the hard way in the Philippines.

  • What is Elite status?

    • from silver to top, all is Elite

  • Can anyone please check if there are free status nights for Sydney for between 8th and 13th of December?
    Thanks :)
