1321

Easier now to get upgrade to next status

Free 20 status nights given for new and existing members + an additional extra 20 status nights for renewal before 31 December 2023

Gold status is the sweet spot for room upgrades and late check out

I'm a fan of using the 50% off restaurants at the buffet at Suzette (previously Thyme) in Brisbane and The Tenary in Sydney. Let me know if any other good restaurants!

Status tier requirements and benefits
Silver - 10 nights, free wifi, free 2 drinks, late check out
Gold - 30 nights, all above + room upgrade, late check out
Platinum - 60 nights, all above + suite upgrade, Executive lounge access
Diamond - 26k status points, free gold status of your choice

Possible Citi Prestige Hack
A little hack by stacking with Explorer plus with Citi Prestige (Stay 4 consecutive nights and only pay for 1 night)

Use 2 stay plus free nights from Accor explorer plus + 1 night free from Citi Prestige (if staying 4 consecutive nights). Total 4 nights and pay only for 1 night.

Double check Citi Prestige terms in case if this doesn't work due to using 2 stay plus free nights but I'm assuming it should work.

  • So is this auto credited? how do I know it's hit my account.

    • Should be auto credited I'm checking my app but haven't received anything yet, news just came out today

      • So for existing Accor Plus members they'll 40 nights?

        • Reading that article I am assuming:

20 for existing, then another 20 for renewing before end of year

          • @Fat Horny Ghost: And as a one-off benefit, existing Accor Plus members will also be gifted a separate set of 20 bonus nights this year to give them a helping hand with attaining a higher Status Tier.

            • +1

@nightelves: Yes 20 for existing, 20 for new members and renewals

So existing members that renew before end of this year should get 40 status nights = instant gold tier

If staying another 20 nights on top you get platinum

              • +1

@Fat Horny Ghost: This is too good to be true
Will be good if someone can confirm this with Accor plus chat :)

        • Hasn't arrived my account but fingers crossed.

  • just signed up. Can not see any free status credits.

    • Doesn't seem to be anything on their website, but reading through FB comments you can contact the Accor Plus help and they should clarify. Apparently confirmed by staff through that chat.

    • Did you sign up for free Accor Live Limited or $249 Accor Plus?

  • Was about to ask as well 40 nights for renewal! dam already renewed after I let lapse but got the discovery for $319

  • Nothing in my account, probably should be moved to the forums.

  • Reading the FB group it should be credited today, only just released

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/972775709470331/?ref=share

    • I don’t use FB and I still don’t see any credited. What’s the latest?

      • +1

The email to Accor Plus members said

To celebrate we'll be crediting your bonus 20 status nights to your account within 10* days

*Your bonus status nights may take up to 10 days to be reflected in your Accor Plus account. You must be a current Accor Plus member as of 31 July 2023 to qualify

  • -2

sorry does this mean 40 nights for free?

    • No, these are status nights that you need to collect to go up tier levels for more benefits

  • Has anyone been able to match IHG Platinum to Accor Plus Platinum or Gold in past

  • My renewal is due Feb 2024. Does anyone know if I renew what will happen if I renew in let's say December 2023? Will I still get the full year to Feb 2025?

Those extra nights are great to bump from Silver to Gold.

    • Want to know as well

    • +1

Best to ask on FB group or the accor plus team via chat

  • +3

Total 4 nights and pay only for 1 night.

Won't work as the entire 4 night booking needs to be booked/paid via Prestige Concierge.

    • Yeah was wondering about this. Didn't make sense to me either.

  • +1

I'm an existing Accor Plus member. Do I receive this?

    • +1

Yes will be receiving 20 status nights today according to those that called or spoke to accor rep

    • Chat told me we would get the nights credited in about 3 weeks

  • +2

Can you renew 6 months ahead? Looks like the website only lets you renew 45 days before expiry

  • +1

Does anyone know if this would apply to complimentary Accor plus obtained through the Amex Platinum Charge? Or just paid memberships?

    • I'm assuming all, but you can always double check with Accor rep.

  • Whats the deal with Gold Status and room upgrades.

Do you need to book the room category directly before club/executive to get acces to the lounges?

I'm also curious about renewing. I signed up using Malaysian Accor Plus. How much is renewal and will it extend my expiry if I do it early?

    • Yeah unlikely you'll get a executive room that allows lounge access. The upgrade will more than likely be a higher level room.

    • I actually bought the ibis business (which gives instant gold) and stayed in Malaysia Pavilion by banyan tree in May. Got 0 upgrades and only late check out till 4pm.

      • You didn't do a status match with Qatar?

        • Not flying Qatar anytime soon I'm afraid. All my flights hedged on SQ atm.

  • Sorry me dumb, so if I join up with the $205 Accor Plus deal - theoretically should be able to find a night's stay in e.g. Perth and essentially get the hotel stay for free…..

    • +1

Yes, however that would be a waste as Perth has pretty average Accor hotels. Use it when you go to Sydney/Melb/Bali for a nice Sofitel stay.

The MYR deal is best. $388 for 2 free nights. 1 year.

Cheap budget hotels in Perth using red hot rooms
50% off dining in at Hotel restaurants.

      • Totally agree. Used my Malaysia Accor 2 nights + Amex Accor 1 noght staying at Sofitel Adelaide. The hotel was amazing. Really loved it.

      • Fair points. Looks like the Hong Kong price has gone up to $300 now instead of $200 😔

    • +1

Yes but the good expensive hotels are usually booked out their stay plus quota especially peak periods or dates, you'll need book far in advance

  • What's special about TERNARY

    • at 50% disc, it's a great value for money considering the food/drinks variety, ambiance, location, and service. Also a great spot to view the Darling Harbour weekend fireworks 🎆.

      • +1

Discounts on drinks is usually are not included in Australia though. 50% off food is excelent, had a top class dry aged sirloin for $28 (50% off) in Hobart at the Movenpick hotel.

        • yes, drinks aren't included in the discount. I mean the selection and variety is good, they have a well-stocked bar, trained bartender and a good wine list.

    • Food is ok. Views are great especially since they took away the building and during Saturday fireworks at 8:30pm.

  • +1

I'm a fan of using the 50% off restaurants at the buffet at Suzette (previously Thyme) in Brisbane and The Tenary in Sydney. Let me know if any other good restaurants!

Miss Mi at the Movenpick on Spencer, Melbourne
Tayim at the Harbour Rocks MGallery, Sydney.

  • Sigh, I can't renew since AMEX Accor doesn't renew until the new year.

  • Signed up to the MYR 2 night membership ship a few months back. For the life of me can't remember what the default status was. Today logging in it shows me as silver but not sure if it was always silver of if the upgrade has been applied.
    Anyone know?

    • +1

Everyone is automatically silver when they join the Accor Plus program

      • Awesome, good to know. Will now keep an eye out for the upgrade.

  • "A little hack by stacking with Explorer plus with Citi Prestige" - What? i can't find any info on this

    • Yeah would like to know as well. From actually using Citi prestige, I had to book and pay immediately with my card. The 4th night cost got refunded to my cc 2 weeks later. I don't see how you can insert and use the 2 free nights.

      • Think OP meant to say 'Accor Plus Explorer'

    • +3

You can't. Citi Prestige is booked through Expedia using a customer service agent. I have asked this in the past and they don't allow it.

      • +1

That's what I thought hence my reply. Thanks for confirming my thoughts. Should be interesting to see if OP can show the article/post of said hack.

  • Damn, already platinum.

    • I am currently platinum as well but dont have enough stay this year (only around 30 nights up to now)
this offer is great as it bring me towards to reach 60 to retain platinum

  • Would I be right in saying the $HK trick is not so good these days at HK$1588 a year (about AU$305)? Or am I doing something wrong

    • +1

Accor Plus Malaysia with two free nights for $388 is better value.

  • Will they just show up at some stage in my existing silver account?

    • I contacted support. Apparently you’ll only get them if they send you an email

      • +1

Just got the email now to say within 10 business days it'll be reflected

        • +1

          Also got the same.

  • Previous gold members, what's your experience with the room upgrades "when available", is it more often than not that you get upgraded? Or just occasionally?

    • +1

I used to get almost 100% of the time and two drink vouchers. Sometimes in Asian ports and Middle East I’d even get free breakfast

    • +3

I'm a gold member for approximately 1.5 years. Most of the time, you will be upgraded to a higher floor or a better view. Rarely, you will be upgraded to say…premium room or suite. You still do get 2 drink vouchers though :)

      • I would have expected that, no way would they upgrade you to executive room and provide you with lounge access.

    • +2

      Current Gold member.
I can’t recall a time I have not been upgraded. Each time it has been to the next-up room category (or at least a better view eg ocean as opposed to mountain or city view). On one occasion recently (in Osaka) they were unable to upgrade us so instead offered us free use of the executive lounge (which was a better outcome IMHO).

I’m also a big fan of the little welcome amenities that are left in the room for you on arrival. These are generally either a small cheese platter, locally sourced chocolates or lollies, fruit platter, and sometimes a bottle of wine and pastries. These are in addition to the welcome drinks.

    • If you look on the FB group it seems like 95% of members get a room upgrade

  • +1

Just received the email from Accor.

Does anyone know whether nights on their "red hot specials" count for status purposes? (I've had a few of them).

    • +1

They do. That's the best way to garner stays cheaply.

    • Stay Plus also count as a status night. If you really want to do cheap status run for the next level, it is usually very cheap to book those Red Hot Ibis rooms. They are dirt cheap.

    • They count

      • Yes, well it turns out that only 3 of the 8 red hot special nights I have booked and stayed count for this promotion. For the other nights "the hotel is not eligible", I don't know why.
There are so many rules and restrictions in this whole scheme that I won't renew next year. It is all akin to false advertising.

        • Which hotel chain? Never had this issue

          • @Dyl: Hotel Ibis Budget Singapore Joo Chiat

  • +1

Just received the email from Accor about crediting 20 nights

    • Yes me too.

    • Yes me three

  • same

  • Sigh.. Just renewed :(

  • +4

For anyone not with Accor Plus, I personally wouldn’t recommend joining. Redeeming the free night is near impossible, support is absolutely useless if somehow your membership doesn’t create/link properly, I was given the run around for months and wasn’t semi-resolved until I threatened legal action.

Status with Accor seems to mean nothing. The only time I felt status was worth it was once in Belgrade. I’ve never had a good experience other than that, never been able to avail a late checkout beyond 12pm…Accor’s loyalty program is absolutely pathetic as is their Plus program.

I’m an Elite member with a few other brands and liked Accor until I ventured out and earned status with other brands.

    • Yes there have been more misses than hits with my experiences -
Following up with missing status points and reward points,
Correcting the wrong charges to room
Paid with gift cards and then they still charge my card, but before that, being told I cannot pay with gift cards, then the convo changes to we need to see the physical card, THEY ARE DIGITAL
Booking a rate to PAY AT HOTEL, then charge my credit card, ring and complain, receive refund but the exchange rate changes and I'm out $10.00.
Having to ask for your free drink vouchers

      • Was thinking of joining as Iam doing 3 nightly weekly at the moment ; will check if I can get the free night as part of the booking.

    • I haven’t found this the case at all. Booked my free night at Sofitel for New Year’s Eve immediately and saved over $100 doing so. Get drink vouchers every check in. Not as good as Hilton Honours but prob the second best program I’ve found

  • Is Amex Accor Plus part of this promo? I haven't received any email like everyone else has…

    • I've got Accor Plus through AMEX and received the email about the 20 nights getting credited yesterday.

      • I havent received it yet and I have Accor Plus via Amex. But I guess they still might be sending the emails out in batches.

        • Still waiting here, hope it'll come soon for us.

  • I have ALL Gold status but am not a Plus member, is it worth it to pay $250-400/year for this Plus membership?
