Does the stay + night mean book one night, get one free? Or one free night?

    • +1

no, you don't have to book more than 1 night, it's just getting 1 night for free (e.g. you book for an overnight stay, you don't pay anything)

      • +3

Right, so I can book a stay in a 5 star place for one night, and it becomes free? Looking for something for my anniversary

        • Subject to availability, so if you are trying to book a 5 star hotel during a weekend or other busy periods you need to book well in advance. Akin to finding business class seats on Qantas using frequent flyer points!

        • +1

Actually I remember now, you do get the free night at Sofitel darling harbor but if you want the better room with good view you have to top up.

        • +11

Pretty much, the simplest way to find your hotel for free stay is from:

          1. https://www.accorplus.com/au/

          2. STAY - > search with 'Stay Plus' (Yes)

          • @hfwangau: Can you confirm if I can use it for "Garrya Nijo Castle Kyoto" ?

            • +2

@Indomie5: checked for 1st May, you cannot use at 'Garrya Nijo Castle Kyoto', but can use at 'Mercure Kyoto Station'.

        • +1

yes, google “stay plus night” and get the details. Works like an airline reward seat, so there’s only so much available on any night and it covers the cost of a standard room (no upgrades/suite etc). i’ve used to stay at the Sofitel Darling Harbour, so definitely not limited to economy hotels.

        • -6

wow, 5 star hotel. that is very fancy.

    • -7

Free night generally capped at $200~. Need to pay excess.

      • Disagree

        • Proof?

          • @Meconium: Do you have the proof of the cap? or is it just a case of not being able to find availability at the high tier hotels?

I have booked room at Sofitel before using the free night, I can share screenshot of that but I really can't be bothered sorry… Seems like other members have done it too. Try harder:/

(It was also my anniversary so they threw in a free champaigne)

          • @Meconium: I just booked a sofitel sydney room (for november) using this deal with no cap, $0. The original price was over $400!

      • +2

Not true - I used the free night at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour several times where room rates are > $300 - having said that, obviously availability is limited so for to 5 star properties you need to book well in advance. Note the free night will only get you into the cheapest room, if you want a better room or a suite you'll have to pay the difference.

Or you can buy Malaysia version.
    https://www.accorplus.com/my/benefits/
    1090MYR ≈ 372AUD for 2 free nights.

    • +9

Found this in their T&C's though:

"If your membership includes more than one Stay Plus night, please note that only one Stay Plus complimentary night can be used per stay. Multiple Stay Plus complimentary nights cannot be used during the same stay."

      https://www.accorplus.com/benefits/more-nights/stay-plus-ben…

Not sure if you could just book two 'seperate' bookings right after each other though if you wanted two nights in a row.

      • +11

I found this when I bought the Malaysia version too. And you can't also use it consecutive booking. Luckily my husband has 1 free night via Amex platinum card. So I can make a A.B.A booking for 3 nights.

        • +1

Any issues at check in? Do you just let front desk know that you would prefer to not move room twice?

Thinking that my wife can book the B night in cash?

          • +1

@heathy: Haven't traveled yet, but yes, just let them know in advance. I emailed them.

Yep, I think that will do.

          • @heathy: Hotels is Australia did not mind you booking consecutive stays using the stay plus benefit. However I found that hotels in S.E.A often enforce this rules so I would not advice doing this under your name. I was caught out last time in Vietnam doing this.

        • So in the app it wouldn't let you book consecutively?

      • Still trying to work out if this or the HK one is better? Surely this one is but you just have to use the two free nights individually at different times. But it’s still a better deal right?

        Or am I missing something?

    • damn, this is a better deal. i should have waited, i got this same deal back in january i think.

    • Is it just the Malaysian VPN that's needed or would I need to to put a Malaysian address etc.

      • +1

I used my AU phone number and address when I bought it.

        • Cool thanks, may have to give it a go. Great value for 2 single night stays

    • thanks, signed up and paid with Wise, ~A$373

      • +1

how do you pay with wise?

        • +1

Create wise account. Top up myr currency paying with aud. Wise sends you payID reference. You pay from bank account using PayID.

Also confirmed i was able to utilise stay plus (free stay) immediately on registration

          • @OZcheepsk8: It shows only VISA Mastercard and AMEX accepted..

Not sure how bank transfer would work?

            • @freedomofspeech: You get a digital VISA to use with your Wise account

              • @Soapdroid: everyone or you need to apply for the card?

                • +1

@freedomofspeech: I'm 99% sure you don't need to apply for it. I did it years ago, so. I'm not 100% It's basically a debit card that uses funds already in the account, so it should be for everyone.

    • +8

Almost better getting 2 HK membership. As you get the two night plus 50% food discount for 4 people.

      • Good call. I'm assuming they allow this when 4 people are dining together ?

      • +1

You can pay for a supplementary membership for this. When i did the HK one it was only $30 more

    • just signed up from MY, but I can't see the 2 free nights benefit, and even searching for "Stay Plus" doesn't bring up any results. Any idea?

      • Install the accor all app

        • Not there too, only the red room promo is available

          • @r0xz: On the landing page in the app under your status points, it should read 1 or 2 stay plus

            • @OZcheepsk8: None on my view. Contacting support to sort this out.

              https://ibb.co/gPr9dJm

              • @r0xz: Did you get this to work?

                • @rusta2019: Nope! I raised a ticket last night but yet to get any reply. I'll update once I get this sorted.

                • @rusta2019: Just checked my account and it's all sorted now. I've jumped to a live chat yesterday afternoon and the rep told me that my account was previously deactivated (stopped using them many years ago but they still kept my email & details for some dodgy reason, not good!) and they need some time to manually 'fix' (whatever that means) my account in the back end.

    • Trying to sign up through Accor Plus MY but it will not let me as an existing member. When I type in my email address (used for existing membership) it recognises it and asks that I sign if first. When I sign in it redirects me to a renewal page which does not allow the Explorer Plus option and also defaults to Australian pricing.
I'll wait till the existing membership expires (in 4 days) and I'll try again. Otherwise I'll use a different email and get them to link my points/accounts at a later date.

  • +3

Surprised the benefits are limited to Asia and Au/NZ pretty much whether you buy the HK or AU one. no good for my upcoming Europe trip, especially since they are a Euro company

    • +1

Indeed Accor Plus only covers Asia Pacific, not good for Europe!

    • You can book hotels on their app for Europe and they are about $10 a night cheaper than elsewhere with Accor Plus. But the Accor hotels arent necessarily the ones youd want to stay at.

    • If i search Paris hotels filtered with "stay plus" it shows a couple of hotels. Does that mean i cannot use the 1 night complimentary from this deal in these hotels in Paris?

EDIT: NVM, read the facts and cannot find France in the list of countries.

  • +1

one night free stay per year?

  • Booking hotels for Bali in June, this would work there (i.e peppers in Seminyak)?

    • Not on the list

    • not the free night

  • When I try, it is charging me only HKD888 per year. Did I do something wrong?

    • +6

The 888HKD one doesn't have 1 free night.

    • +4

since you selected the 'TRAVELLER' option which doesn't include the free night, you will need to select 'EXPLORER' option

    • +3

Thank you. Yes you were right. I had selected wrong option

        • +3

          You’re fun

            • +7

@kiriakoz: Or maybe we support each other and your attitude is the thing that changes instead.

                • +1

@kiriakoz: mate, mate, seriously, why so much hate?? Nothing wrong with helping each other here. One can easily miss it, no need for such hatred

  • +2

888 HKD does not come with free night, you need the 1088 HKD option

  • No find for ‘HongKong VPN’ in the App Store? Am I looking in the wrong place?

  • Last week I booked Quay Suite in Melbourne for this week that normally retails for $350 AUD a night, so the free night definitely is worth quite a lot if used well (Sofitel Melbourne on Collins is also available that retailed for similar price)

I already for A+ from Amex but if not I would definitely take up the HK offer

    • what is this amex offer are you talking about?

      • +1

probably the Platinum Charge card. it's one of the card benefits.

  • this is the same deal from earlier this year? because i got it already. do i get it again?

  • +5

Do they mail a physical card?

    • +2

      Edit: just use Australian address.

  • Do you sign up to this using your existing Accor membership or start a brand new membership?

    • I am unsure as I started a new membership

    • Better to buy it under your other half's name. Then you both can have the accor plus benefits.

    • Let me know how you go, mine is still valid until Aug

    • I managed to purchase this and combine with my existing Accor membership. It was done automatically when I purchased with the same email address

  • Am I right the deal is only good for someone wanting to travel within the year to HK?

    • +3

Nah, basically Accor is offering the same paid membership at half price at their HK website comparing the price at their Aus website.

  • +8

50% dining when dine with your better half

What if you are 'the better half'?

    • +1

Then buy the card under your name this time, so that you both have the same benefits to use.

  • +1

Any other benefits other than the free night?

Have work travel trip coming soon using one of the Accor hotels.

  • +1

Some countries have had the accor plus feature two free nights in the year as opposed to one eg Indonesia

  • Do you have to use the free night within one year from the date of purchase, or withing the calendar year?

    • +1

      Membership year, not calendar year.
