What Do People Think about Car Plate Custom Frames?

Don’t worry. Not trending at the moment. Oh so negative comments.
I don’t mind if you buy them or not.
I just think custom writing on car plate frames are a good idea in addition to custom plates.
But I do appreciate your honesty and discussion as I like community chat.

I am not in retail or car industry. Or marketing.
I just found it interesting to find out your opinions.
(Not about my design either)

PS I tried to delete the website, but I couldn’t.

My life isn't empty enough yet that I feel the need for custom car plate frames of all things…

  • I can't even think of what I'd write on the frames!

  • +5

You sure you don't work for them?
First a deal and now a forum post asking for opinions on what they'd want to see on one of they were buying?

    • -5

Just curious. I find it strange also not many custom design decals.
People are only into custom plates. I mean some people.
Even paying $500-$2000+ for them. I guess it’s more stylish then a name on a sticker stuck to the bumper.

What the absolute heck are you on about mate?

    • Definitely a bit suss

What do people think about custom Car plate frames?

    Useless Vanity gimmick.

  • I think it is suss you doing market research after posting a deal.

The fetish It seems to have started with custom plates in 2019, now needs framing…

      • Actually, I installed them at the same time.

Plates look best with zero frames

What could you possibly write on them that would appeal?

    Oh…

Mine says “skyhopper and skippy” top. And bottom “Sing and Dance: Live Laugh Love” I also have emoji wink plate “LOVUB” haha.

    Holy cringe batman

      • It’s suppose to read. I did not like my number plate…
Didn’t know I did that typing mistake.

omfg. I feel like throwing up at the 'meaning'!

        • Yes, I agree, I didn’t like the plate at all.

        • Also, it was too sexy car….not a person.

    • Zero frames do look nice. I agree with that.

    • +1

      Oh my…

    • LOVUB means “love you beautiful” the plate and frame was a gift for my wife.
It reminds us to be happy in life. I like it, you don’t have to.

I like it, you don’t have to.

Then stop making posts about it.

  • Well at least you guys are honest.
Because I really wanted to know why they aren’t around much.
And no, I don’t work for car company or related accessory industry.
I just thought it was a good idea, and wondered what people thought.
Hence post in forum for more opinion. The post in deals was a good deal I think. The frame does look a lot better in real life. I didn’t think it looked that good on picture but decided to buy and try it out for fun. You are not obliged to like my design, hence I asked what would you write on yours.
Never asked do you like my design?

I feel like I need to clarify if this is a result of Google Translate?

Sorry about these tossers on here mate, not sure why people are so worked up over such a basic question.

Personally I am not the biggest fan of these plates, but I have seen some good ones around, especially on nicer, more premium cars or sports cars. Maybe when I can afford something like that I might consider it :-)

      • Thanks for your comment :)

  • I had to take the frame off my front plate due to the hassle of misreads in car parks that use plate recognition.

    • Interesting. I will remember to check next time I go to those car parks.

You're weirdly obsessed with number plates and plate frames. Like, really, weirdly obsessed.

    • I like a few fun topics, but I guess it’s not trending.

  • +1

I’ve got nothing against them. They’re potentially better than a lot of decals, particularly those stick figure ones.

Frames are good for car shows and media events. Also good for car club members that don’t like decals.

    • I have been thinking of decals on my car for three years now, but it’s so hard to have a good design, so I haven’t got one on yet.

  • +1

I’m guessing they’re more popular in cultures where detailed and intricate decoration is more normal. Aussies seem to prefer clean, more minimalist designs.

Probably fit well on one of those B&S ball utes that are covered in stickers though.

I like those frames you get from the dealer but I don't like the dealer's logo on it, it's just giving them free advertising. Almost want to cover their logo with black tape or something.

    • You can take them off separately and spray paint them black?

    • I removed the dealer frame from my vehicle when I purchased it. I replaced it with a custom frame from Ebay for around $20. It now reads 'retired farmer'. Other drivers on the road can now safely avoid the old geezer driving his car like a tractor on the highway.

      • Haha, that’s the first I heard that phase and meaning.

  • +1

OMG! I still cant believe you got your "top choice" in custom plates and no one had snapped them up.

Now you can get a number plate surround and spend some time writing something on it that explains what the (fropanity) your "top choice" plates actually mean, because 2 years on, and I still don't know WTF they are supposed to be saying.

    • LOVUB means love you beautiful (wife). Why is that so hard to understand?
The plates and frame was a gift a Gift for my wife on our car. Sing and dance quote is from. “Dance like no one is watching, sing like no one is listening”. I think it’s a nice take on life.
      You understand now?

      • Our custom plate isn’t suppose to be every one would understand, that’s why it’s coded. I guess that’s why it worked on you. Lol. People who see it on streets and my friends don’t know the meaning of our plate for a while or ever.

      • It's not "LOVUB", it's "10VUB". LOVUB is not registered to any vehicle in Qld and I could understand the meaning if that was the plate, but 10VUB is what? Ten Vub? IOVUB? One oh Vub? 1 ov you babe? Why not just get LOVUB or LOVUBB? Now you have to spend time trying to convince people of what it says and I bet most of them just say "Yeah, ok, no problem, champ."

But, I guess, so long as you know what it means and she gets what you were trying to say with it, it's all good. I suppose sometimes, personalised plates are a bit like tattoos. They don't have to make sense to anyone other than the person who owns it.

No, that is what "BB" means.

        • “ Alternatively, you might see some people use variations such as “bby,” “b2,” or even just “b.” says in article.

  • Life is too unpredictable to worry about what strangers on the Internet thinks.

People should do what is right for them.

  • If you want to invest in something car plate related invest in heritage plates.
