The card offers an earn rate of 1 Qantas Point earn per $1 up to 5,000 per statement period and travel insurances. There are no Qantas Club lounge passes on offer.

If you decide to keep the card after the first year, the full annual fee is charged, which is $395.

    More like 100,000 points trickster

  • min income and min credit amount?

    • most likely $75k+ on a $15k min

  • +6

There is also an extra 20,000 Qantas Points on offer for first-time Qantas Points earning
cardholders (this is defined as someone who has not earned Qantas Points on a Qantas
Points earning card into their Qantas Frequent Flyer account within the past 12 months from
    application).

Every time someone adds this to a CC deal…
    cries in card churner

That seems a bit of an ambiguous statement.
"The extra 20,000 Qantas Points is available to anyone who has not earned Qantas Points on a Qantas Points earning card into their Qantas Frequent Flyer account within the past 12 months from application."
According to that, if you linked your woolworths rewards card to qantas points then you're ineligible…

    so 100k point for $295,
+ 20k if you first timer

    +30k for another $295 after a year.

i'm guessing the ANZ deal is better for 130k points upfront for $425 fee but with $200ish back?

  • +4

At least these guys pro rata the refund

    • So the $395 annual fee in the second year, pro rated when canceling before the second month of the second year, would be $32.91.

So it’s worth it for the extra 30k points?

      • You wouldn't let it get to the first year
Churn and burn within the first few months so the most you'll be out of pocket is $150 or so

        • Ah, got it. I’m new to this game. Cheers mate!

    • Is this a confirmed policy?

  • Where can we register for the bonus 20K for the first timer? I thought it’s already expired?

  • Are the points worth more than the fees?

    • You're must be new to the game here. Apply for the card, spend it quickly then close it after receive the points. If you do it right, you may only out of pocket for $20 - close it within 1-2 months.

Category should be Finance (not Travel)

  • i would rather get an anz black rewards card than this one… the annual turn the deal down…

unless you get the bonus 100k pts and cancel the card to get the balance 10 mths fee reimbursed.

    • If you want to keep the card longer then yes. But if you just want hit and run this one much better - spend and close it as soon as you can to minimise the out of pocket spend.

  • Does bill payments and council fee payments count towards the spending?

    • If that for Government fees then no.

    • Should count as eligible spend when paid via Beem.

      • Can anyone confirm Beemit bpay payments counts towards $3000 spend?

        This is for council rates

        • Ah nvm just read the Beemit thread
Checked biller code and my local council only accepts Cheque, Savings, debit cards for payment via bpay

  • For the purchase requirements. Does buying gift cards from Coles or Woolies count as everyday purchases ? or they can't tell ?

    • +1

No problem with that. Had being doing that to reach the spending requirement for many credit card promos.

  • Can we get the bonus points on this card, as well as the NAB Signature Rewards card deal currently on offer?

    • Yes. But I wouldn't recommend to apply both at same time.

  • I need a new cc which has android pay to use for the next 10-11 months - would this be the best one for bonuses atm? Currently have an ANZ so have to exclude that.

    • If you going to keep it longer then consider current promo from St George or Westpac. They're having annual fee than NAB. Even less if you are their existing customer.

  • Applied, thanks Op

wow i got a statement and the 100k points about a week after getting the card.

cancelled on chat and the full fee refunded.

    fastest churn ever.

    • Really?

So you got the 100k points no problems and a full refund of the annual fee?

I am thinking of doing the same but don't want to risk losing the 100k points.

      • +1

        yes

      • What risk? Once you see the card in your QF account, cancel the CC.

    • just hit the 3k spend today. how soon do they issue the points?

    • +1

It took 3 weeks for them to approve my card… But after that I prepaid daycare fees for the minimum spend and waited until the statement was generated, paid it in full then cancelled over live chat. full refund also, which is crazy - thats effectively 100K Qantas points for free.

      • Nice work, I almost achieved the same but missed out by a day because I had no clue what the statement date was

I had 2 transactions that didn’t settle til day after the first statement date so didn’t meet the min spend in time. Now have to hold the card for another month to receive my 100k

  • is there any way to add the card to mobile wallet before receiving the physical card?

    • If there is no such feature in the app then no way but wait for the physical card.

    • No. You need to wait for the card.
To add to mobile wallet you’ll need the last couple of digits from the card itself (which you don’t have).

      • Thanks. Looking in the app I didn't think it was possible but thought someone might know a way around it

        • +1

I wanted to do the same but the card doesn’t take long to get to you

    • +1

A late reply to this comment - but I was able to activate my card which was on the way (once I received approval). The person in the live chat was able to provide me with the card number and date which was all that was required. I was then able to add the card to my wallet from the app!

      • You would think that they wouldn't let you activate a card which you don't physically have yet (opens up the possibility of someone else receiving a card and using it straight away since its active) but glad you got that sorted!

  • Does the annual fee count to the 3k spend ?

    • Nope
