Awful clearance pricing, hard to imagine JB had way better pricing..

  • Cheaper on eBay
Anyone know if c2 on sale?

  • Any idea why 77" is almost double the price of 65"?

    • +2

Larger = more room for defects, so more scraps? So avarege the costs to the units sold? Just my guess, I am not sure.

      • Interesting. I was planning to buy a 77" OLED or a 75" QLED for my media/gaming room. Looking at the prices, wondering if I should go with 65" and save some bucks.

        • +4

I just couldn’t justify double the price for an extra 12 inches so went with 65.
Most amazing tv I’ve ever watched

      • +2

They’re all cut from standard sized slabs. Larger screen size means fewer per slab.

    • +1

We get ripped off in Australia on the 77" and 83" oled's.

  • 55" is $5 / 65" $10 / 77" $70 / 83" $100 cheaper

Same website, but different prices? Weird…

    Free delivery to selected cities.

  • Do you guys think these C1 TV's will keep coming in Nov, Dec or they will be finished with stocked in Jun, July. I know no one has crystal ball but still asking..

    • +2

You’d have to think these 2021 models are in their final month or two of stock

    • New ones are already out these are EOL and last remaining stock is clearing I would say

      • Thanks guys. And C2 are bloody expensive :(

        • +1

Wait till black friday sales should come down a fair chunk by then.

Welcome to the lifecycle of I.T and TVs !!

In all honesty, the C1 is such a great panel its well worth it to jump in, especially if your primary use is gaming. Unless you absolutely have to have the latest and greatest.

    Contrast/Perfect blacks/VRR/G-SYNC/120Hz/HDMI 2.1 on ALL Ports…

    No brainer.

    • How is the reliability of the LG OLED panels?

  • Wonder if c2 will drop this low by end of this year ?

    • No reason LG would. Almost zero chance id say.

      • New model would make them

    • Boxing day sales almost always have decent price drops. It's just for less than a week though, I would expect the C2 to be under $2500 by then.

      • +1

Hope so as I’m waiting for that sale

        • Me 2

        • You'll be waiting until 2023.

          • @KangaDrew: That’s fine don’t need one till this time next year as building new place

      • Enjoy the wait. Zero chance the C2's will be even remotely close to C1 pricing given anytime this side of Easter next year.

Anyone found a deal on the 77" by any chance? C1 or g1? The jb hi-fi deal was great but no stock :(

  • If I watch TV for free to air, standard definition Netflix and Disney+, would OLED still make huge difference as compared to QLED?

    • +1

      Yes

      • Mind to elaborate? Thanks.

        • +5

I have a CX 65" OLED and a Sony 75" LED, I far prefer the picture on all sources on the OLED even though it's smaller; perfect blacks, amazing contrast, excellent upscaling on lower definition content, I would choose an OLED over LED for any content every time, simply put it's the best looking TV I've ever experienced

          • @cook99: So non-4K content still looks (significantly) better on OLED than it does on LED?

            • +2

@peuwayaqdq: On my TVs yes, although my LED is 2015, but was the absolute top of the line back then too.

Put simply, every TV I buy from here will be OLED, I'm definitely a fanboy

    • No, it won't. Get the C1 OLED if you intend to watch 4K HDR content or want to use it for gaming. Otherwise you're better off with a LED TV.

    • +1

QLED is just marketing name for LCD with QD-based LED backlighting. You can’t compare LCD and OLED contrast because LCD can never be pure black.

    • +1

Once you go pure-black, you never go back.

Seriously, my wife almost murdered me when I told her I was buying another OLED TV.
But everyone - and I mean everyone - comments on how stunning the picture quality is. You cannot beat it.

They seem to last as well.
My last LG OLED was purchased in 2015 and was sold second hand - works absolutely perfectly with almost 0 burn in.

      • Almost 0 burn in? 😂What does it mean?

        • Read RTINGS' "Permanent Burn-In Risk" section in every OLED review. Anyone who claims they have none is either lying, can't see, in self denial, or not watching TV (eg. seldom or selectively and/or especially dimmed).

          • +1

@AlexF: Because it make total sense that the most popular and desired TV on the planet has a fundamental defect that affects EVERY screen ever made?

I don't have to read the the article. I have two LGs. I game (my kids game). I watch a lot of TV (So do my kids). All settings on 'normal'. The only thing I make sure is activated is the auto screen turn off if no ones using it. I've never seen a hint of burn in on either one.

  • Can anyone get delivery to VIC?

  • I bought a 65" C1 from the Good guys a few weeks back and it died within 2 hours of using - seems fairly common that these units are DOA, even the LG representative simply said "Take it back and it will get replaced" - no questions asked.

GG were amazing, picked up the old one and replaced the new one. Definitely worth getting this from a reputable retailer.

  • Probably time to close this thread. The prices are up $1000 now. Will have to wait a bit.
