For $1000+ watch. I want this to be made of gold

    • +2

      Or titanium 😆

      • +2

        Mine is made from obtanium

        • +3

More like unobtainium at this price.

          • @nfusion: Big flashy watches look good on guys made from smalldickium

      • It is a titanium bezel, and you can get a titanium band for it too

    • +5

$1000 is nothing for a watch.

      • -2

Serious? How much do you want to spend?

      • +6

It’s nothing for a mechanical watch that can be serviced forever, but it’s a lot for a smart watch that will be obsolete in 5 years.

        • -1

          Consider it your insurance.
Fall detection, abnormal heart rate alert, battery that last 24 days (well some mechanicals can run 8 days but they are 10x more) can be worth some $ for some people.

          • @bnh: Depending on the mode used, the watch should get around 5-6 days of use with heart rate and Bluetooth pairing/notifications on. GPS is the real battery killer. I am comparing to the 6X Pro Solar with my examples.

            • @YupMan: My 7x last charged on Saturday morning. On 70% now with around 4 hours outdoor cycle time. Full hrm, notification alert running (very busy whatsapp notification), balanced gps too (which been in occasional zombie mode since 8.35 update!)

      • +2

For those that visit this site religiously, $1000 is 500x $2 noodle meals

        • Wow a year and a half of dinner sacrificed for a shiny watch.

  • +55

The deal is ok, the bants are top tier.

    Waddles towards nearest kfers

    • mmm KFC

      In a Homer Simpson voice

  • Highly recommended.

  • +4

the 7s sapphire solar is also pretty cheap for those with a smaller wrist

  • +2
    • Being small comes with its benefits after all.

  • 7X or 7S Sapphire Solar?

    • +4

      Yes.

    • 7X if it suits your wrist. Happy with mine :)

    • The difference between them is size, and a lot of size between the 7S and the 7X, so no one can answer the question for you. Ideally you'd be able to try them on in a shop and see how they look / fit, but if you can't, then you can go off dial / case sizes of watches you know you like wearing.

    • +2

Generally you wouldn't cross shop the two
Theyre two completely different sized watches

      One is for childlike wrists
      The other for hulk

  • +29

    +1000000 for the KFC reference

  • +8

Ffs. Why can't they put the torch in every model.

  • This colour looks so cool

  • +11

    This is a big boi
    For the chonkiest of wrists.
Purchase at your peril, by peril i mean if you're shorter than 6'4/have narrow bones then this watch will eat your wrist alive.

My feeble childlike wrists are no match for the heft of this. Need to stock up on some zinger burgies.

  • Does anyone know if cashback works with this product?🙏🙏🙏

  • +1

Upvote purely for the banter. Well played.

Came to see a smart watch, stayed for the KFC sledge.

  • No ECG on these

  • +3

It's a good price for the 7X but I would wait until JB have 50% which they seem to do a few times a year.

The 6X is currently on sale for $699 and will get you 99% of what the 7X does for most people.

I'm still rocking my Fenix 5 Sapphire and have worn it daily, I just replaced the band but other than that the watch looks great, has performed flawlessly and I still get weeks of battery life. Highly recommended.

    • You are compare the 6X basic to a 7X Sapphire? A correct comparison would be the 6X Pro Solar which is still going for about 1K, so this is quite a deal consider it is a new model.

I am not into Garmin but my wife has been looking at these for a while and she said the 7S/7X has updated some issue that was heavily coitized in the 6 series. at this price its not worth going for the last gen.

      • +2

coitized? Past tense verbal form from "coitis"?

    • JB have 50% which

      Probably when 8 comes out…

      • +1

It did happened, both at JB and Amazon, but it’s 50% off RRP😂😂😂

    • +1

I have a 5 Sapphire and I think the extra money for the glass was worth never having to worry about it. I've ripped through a number of bands tho.

    • +1

My Fenix 1 still works perfectly also.

      • Xmen fenix is also cool.

    • Where did you source the band?

  • I got the Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar in Carbon Grey for 1165 at JB Hifi Solutions a few weeks ago. Still the same price.

But yes, the 6 at $600 something is a good deal.

    • +3

I bought my 6 Pro (regular size, pro has maps and music) at JB in August last year when it was $574, used a 20% off coupon for Garmin, so $459.
The 7 came out in Jan 2022.

Pretty sure I did something similar going from a Fenix 3+ to a 5+ a few years before.

So the heavy discounts usually start at least few months before the new models land.

As always, dcrainmaker or desfit are the goto sites / YouTube channels for reviews.

  • FYI. Garmin are more targeted towards hiking/fitness users. If you don't do either this isn't really for you.

    • +16

It's all about looking like you are a hiking/fitness user while using the watch to see how long before KFC shuts.

      • +1

        😃😅😀😀 Gota love this comment.

  • +5

    Is it grease proof?

  • 44 upvotes on $1000+ watch … What am I missing ?

    • +19

      $900?

    • +1

Fenix is the best selling high end multi sports watch. Garmin has cornered a nesh market, its not your Apple or Samsung watch.

      • Does this supports Samsung or Apple Pay ?

    • +1

      KFC zinger

      • That's a better choice for me 😁

  • -7

Just get an Amazfit T-Rex Pro 2 which is a fraction of the cost and is superior in quite a few areas!

    • dont understand negative comments on this. Trex pro 2 just got released looks great.

      • -1

Probably from cheesed off owners who realised that they have overpaid for these watches and end up looking silly.

  • +3

wipes hands of chicken grease before typing my response of offence

    Oi!

  • +1

7X is suitable for those with larger wristo

This is debatable. What about if i have a small wrist , but a 7X big penis

    • +1

And what if pigs could fly, what if easternculture didn't tell fibs online, what if my aunt had bolloc…

Guess we'll never know eh :)

    • -1

who you share your bed with is your business.

    • Then this watch clearly won’t fit. But, due to its impressive fitness features and durable band, you’ll be able to use it as a cock ring

  • +3

I got the 7X saph solar in the black on black from JB for 1200 a couple weeks ago.
I’m more of Maccas $1 app bonus kinda guy so my wrists aren’t KFC big, but I’m 6’3, so it sort of looks ok ish.
BUT!!!! It wears super light and I usually forget I’m wearing it.
I came from Apple Watch, and hated having to charge it, the garmin has no where near the battery life they claim, I’d say more like 18-19 days, not a month. But, I look at my grandparents and think, only one generation ago, they used to look at the sun for the time.
And yet now I’m grubbin on my Uber delivered maccas burger, feeling some type of way about battery life of a watch that’ll probably call the ambo if I comatose on these extremely average cold fries!!!!

    • Is that because you don't spend enough time in the sun for the additional several days? When you take it off do you leave it by the window?

      • +1

        Haha! Haha!
No. What sun? I stay indoors and get my workout between my couch and Kumar the Uber driver that knocks on my door with my maccas. …..Shut up!

Jokes, i mountain bike and jog 3-4 times a week and weights 3-4 times a week. So it gets it’s time in the sun, but to be honest, no matter how much sun it gets, it won’t charge it up to full etc.
see solar charge requirements video here: https://youtu.be/nVOuyMHvtEU

Even with a 18-19 day battery and not being a “never charge” watch, it is still hands down the best fitness watch on the market here. I had the coros too and didn’t find it as intuitive as the 7X.
I never use the multi band gps, but hunting season is picking back up, so it would be good to have that too.
        Hope it helps.

    • How did you get the 7x black so cheap?

      • I got mine through wildearth for 1221, just need to keep your eye out for deals and 10% off codes(which is easy if you are a new user).

  • +5

    Bought one for my leg.

    • Richard the 3rd leg?

  • How many Zingers I can eat with that amount of money🤑

    • It’s not the size of your wallet, but the size of your stomach. If you pinch your buns and they feel soft, then you’ve had one too many

  • Anyone had much luck having Iconic’s special price matched at JB or Rebel?

  • I have a 5x, only wears when I work out. It's too bulky and heavy as a time piece.

  • I will take a rolex instead of this for 12000 grand

    • You’ll be waiting a while to get something at retail.
