  • how much better is the C2, is it really that much of an upgrade for the cost?

    • +9

Honestly no. Faster processor, tad brighter screen and more smart feature in settings it not worth more than 700 AUD

    • +6

Just picked up my c2 now. I have 55' c1 and will see and update you.

      • nice, appreciate that - if you dont mind me asking a personal question, whats the plan for the c1 since the upgrade?

        • +2

Could be a second tv since apparently He gone bigger in size with the newer c2

    • If you watch a lot of SDR content and you are getting one of the smaller sizes (where the price difference is slightly less), maybe.. But probably not.

  • Does this have HDMI 2.1?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/403683102396?epid=19046991906&ha…

A little bit cheaper here and free postage.

    • Here I thought getting it at $1885 from them was the best price couple days ago.

Im getting it delivery today, not sure anyway to get that $100 dif if any chance :(.

Edit: Nevermind, my afterpay limit is $600 anyway, never actually use it.

        • Thanks, I dont think ebay would pricematch afterpay promotion and its over 48 Hours anyway. Still good to know this, shopping at ebay for years and never see this policy before.

@linhlink: If you buy big ticket items with a credit card that offers price protection (I have it on my Coles MC and Latitude 28 degrees) then you can claim the difference. It's good for tech items since you know the price on them will drop eventually. You can even submit multiple claims on the same item but I believe there has to be a certain reduction threshold for it to be granted.

I am not sure if they officially cover coupon code discounts but I haven't had any claims rejected since the price difference is normally only a couple hundred bucks they just approve it all lol

      • Wasn't the best price even then, there was another 10% just before the 5% (so same price as what it is now).

Also the eBay best price guarantee doesn't include eBay themselves as an approved retail website. @Ca1vin

    Such an impressive TV.
I have both this and the Sony X90J, both in 55", and every time I use the LG I just swoon…

    • picked up x90j last October feels bad now I missed out on making the leap to Oled now.

  • I picked up a Sony OLED on their last deal, I can say OLED is wow for sure

Are these LG tvs reliable? Swore against buying anything LG years ago as whatever I bought would have issues

I have an old B7 55" with 6k hours, and a CX 65" with 3k hours. Both going strong, they are awesome tellies. Thinking about getting a C1 as well.

      Edit: I bought it.

      • +2

I've got an old B7 55" too. Probably not as many hours as you, but mine's also going strong.

      • Is there an easy way to tell how many hours? Or is it a rough estimate? I've also got the B7 and it blows away so many other TVs

        • +2

It's not right in front of me, but it's something like Settings > General > About TV > TV Information.

They repaired my non OLED TV after 3 years warranty period and had to replace the motherboard. Only asked for my purchase receipt and that's it! Made me a LG fanboy. My B8 is going very strong so far.

    • I'm still on a B6 (2016) going strong.

I've been waiting for a significant update to justify an unnecessary upgrade so I'll probably upgrade to a C2 end of the year.

      I love my LG C9 OLED (2019).

At 2yrs 8mths i got minor humming from the powerboard when bright colours were on screen. I am picky, most people wouldn't have even noticed. But LG had repairers come out and swap in a brand new powerboard, humming completely gone.

This was repaired outside of normal warranty, we have good laws here in Aus, but i didn't even have to mention any of that. Very impressed.

    • 65" C8 user here, bought it back in 2018 I think..still going rock solid, zero burn in, still amazes me with the quality!

I will never buy anything else apart from an LG OLED now haha. Cant wait to upgrade..probably next year..but I've been saying that for a few years now ;)

  • I got the 65' last week and it blows me away how great it looks.

  • Whats it like using windows apps? Also how far should you sit at a desk back from it?

Afterpay did my head in last night. I went to Woolworths, did some shopping, and purchased a digital Woolworths gift card and it wasn't emailed to me until the next day.

I tried purchasing a second one for only $70 and I was rejected(this has happened once before too), I was furious. What the F#%$ is the point of being a mint(consistent, reliable payer) member with a 3k limit when they decide to decline my purchase which would have taken my account from about 4% to 6% total used out of my limit.

I was humiliated standing at the checkout hitting refresh on my email repeatedly for ten-15 minutes (normally takes >60s) before just paying with cash.

This is part of my conversation with them from this morning, I could just comfortably use the Gift Card, but it's the principle of the thing.

Most of their other responses were just vague templates which have frustrated me even more.

    • I feel you.
I had too much frustration dealing with them. I don't want to spend money I don't have, and only use them for the promotions.
I'll keep it that way as I've had similar experiences.

Need a good price on the 65" to milk a little more out of my CC price protection before all stock is gone. I am at $2743 paid currently, unfortunately missed the ~$2450 price the other day :(

  • Meanwhile the 42" C2 is going UP in price. I should've pulled the trigger the other day at $2150

    • There is always a quarterly sale to make quota. Just wait then.

  • What's the warranty on these?
What happens if they get dead pixels a few years in

  • Any recommendations for beat picture settings for ps5 gaming ,watching sports and tv channels/ films? Have a 65inch C1

Got a 55" Samsung QN90A for $1700 via Government portal. Might be some still in stock.

    • How to get it via Government portal without being a government employee? Is it possible?

      • -1

Get someone to buy it for you.

  • I have a C1, one thing I actually don't like about it is that it doesn't support DTS or possibly even DTS passthrough. I have an older stereo with Optical in only, DTS is best I can hope for apart from analogue 5.1

  • I wouldn’t get one but the code will bring the Philips 55” OLED down to $1439.10 😬

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/144595395444

  • My limit is a few hundred short. Do these discounts still work if I mix in some gift cards? I've done that on earlier afterpay deals

    • My limit was 800 in afterpay, but it let me buy it. Have you tried going through checkout?

      • +1

Yeah first thing I tried. Just says I can't because I have a $1500 limit.

I got $300 in gift cards and it went through fine.

  • I add the coupon code first, then select afterpay. Able to checkout with delivery with no issues.

  • I have a c8 is this gonna be a noticeable difference

  • Costco has the LG 55 Inch OLED ThinQ 4K Smart TV OLED55B1PTA for $1650 but it has an a7 AI processor vs. the a9 processor in this one (earlier, lower spec model perhaps).
I just bought this one as it is a newer model and is only $150 more.

    Thanks OP

This or the Sony A80J? The Bing Lee ebay store has the C1 and Sony at the same price.

    • Thanks Op. Sony A80J comes down to $1,795.50..no stock near me.

    • +1

      Movies - A80J
      Games - C1
      Mix - Toss a coin

      • Thanks for the info, appreciate it
