[QLD] 4x Bundaberg Rum & Cola 6pks $7 @ BWS (In-store Only)

510

IN STORE ONLY. DOESN'T WORK ONLINE.

There's a pricing error that occurs when Bundaberg rum and cola 6 packs are scanned 4 times. Instead of reducing the cartons-worth down to carton price it will drop to $7. (Works with Bundaberg rum and cola zero as well)

This will ONLY work instore in QLD.
Only works on 4x 6 packs of Bundaberg Original rum and cola. Note: this will not work if sold as carton, it must be entered as 4x 6 packs.

Get instore quick before they fix the price error… They'll be on this quite quickly.

    Can you share a receipt?
Feel for the staff who'll be hassled with scan requests to test this out.

    • +4

I work for BWS, I can't serve myself alcohol as it's against the law.
A few Qld stores are aware of the error. These include stores around palm beach area and other gold coast stores.

      • Close enough for me, thanks mate

        • +4

All good mate. A few stores are aware of the error. But we are just doing our jobs. If it spits out a price error than that Woolworths problem not ours at a store level

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Less of a Woolworths problem, since they are separate companies now.

    • I was going to post a photo of my POS screen but I couldn't

True QLDer, Bundy & coke for brekkie

    Link broken.

    • +3

It's instore only. Will not work online.

  • -1

I feel you would need to be extremely lucky for the store clerk to let you have it at that price rather than just do 2 transactions or something. Also who did you buy it from? That's not going to happen in every bottlo that sells bundy unfortunately. Need to put the store in the title, I'll guess you got it from BWS

    • +3

We technically need to honour and uphold the pricing shown untill such time as Woolies gets onto it and fixes it

      • No you don't lol, there is absolutely 0 obligation to honour a technical issue making a product cheaper than intended, especially as it wasn't advertised.

        • +3

How is the person scanning it supposed to know it is an error?

How is the person scanning supposed to know that it isn't a promotion?

    • +2

Let them know that you can get it at 7 bucks and they're obliged to honour that

  • +1

Old mate clearly partook in his bargain before writing this deal up.

    • +3

      I work at bws

  • +14

I'm standing at the counter replying to all of you

    • +1

That explains it, you're working and excited hahah, cheers mate! Will have a go when stores open at 10am

  • +2

I just opened the door to the shop and I'm waiting for someone to try it😂

    • +6

Elaborate way to identify alcoholic OZbargainers with a 9am Bundy sting?

  • Nice score for Bundy drinkers. Champion for sharing.

  • How do you know this won’t work in other states?

    • +1

Pricing and promotional offers differ in each state.

  • +2

Thanks heaps for sharing! I'm in the same town as you. If I wasn't bedridden with influenza I'd be speeding to the shop now.

  • Comes up as $100 for 4

    • Are you in store

  • Was, yep

    • +1

The price will show the discount after the person working the POS presses on the checkout button.
      At payment stage.

    • +2

Every special and discount is only applied once the person working has entered the payment stage. If they're still scanning and haven't gotten to the payment then the price will show $100.

Once on payment screen instore it will show $93 discount

  • Store is sold out but they have no-sugar version. Is that the same discount?

    • It works for them too

  • +4

I just tried- it did scan as $7 in a brisbane store. The guy refused to honour it- said its not RSA and they received an email about it already apparently. He got pretty grumpy too 😂

    • +1

I can't be bothered to look it up but I reckon he is taking the piss on the RSA excuse 😂

      • nope, it's illegal to sell that quantity of alcohol at that price

        • Damn nanny state we live in.

Thanks for the info though I guess 😂

  • +1

Refused to sell it to me. Said can't have it for $7 I can only have it for a carton.

  • +2

Does work, mine got honored! Haha thanks!

  • Don’t know how to revoke my neg vote. But wish I could give you 2 +

  • +1

Wouldn’t release the goods stating an RSA rule, not sure how legit that is. Hit or miss I guess depending on if the staff member has read the email.

Expired Deal and now a Disabled user? Poor BWS employee… at least a couple of people got the deal!

  • +3

Just here to upvote a great Aussie deed! Well done OP

  • +4

Deal worked and was honored for me in Southport. Amazing. Only worked for regular run and coke not OP or bare

  • +18

Cleared out the 2 stores in town. 22 cartons for $154.

    • +1

      username checks out :D

    • +2

      Legendary

    • +1

22 cartons of bundy and coke RIP pancreas and liver. Well done. This isn't even a broden, it's just impressive. Hope the kids that sold it to you don't get the arse for honouring the price!

    • +2

Wow old Gerry from HN would definitely call you a professional.. hats down to you sir 👍

    • -1

      shouldn't that have been $49? each 4 cartons @ $7 = 20 cartons for $35 plus 2 cartons for extra $14

      • +1

        a six pack isn't a carton.

    • What a madlad

  • +1

Tried it at a second show and was denied, the manager said they just got texted about it. It went wild on facebook he said. I can only assume OP as already been fired as it would not be hard to track the original sale.

  • +5

Why is OP now a disabled user

    • +1

Poor guy. I hope he hasn’t been fired.

      • +4

Better pour out a Bundy in his honour

        • +3

@ozbundy could pour out a few for him and not even notice they're missing.

          What a hero OP is.

      • defs got in the shit after posting part of his name on here, i'd imagine that's serious misconduct for selling at a discount despite literally being told not to do it; they can also see at what time the items were sold if there was a investigation and match up the posts

        • I’d say the fact that Woolworths employs people who don’t have their RSA’s is a little bit more serious than someone pointing out a pricing error.

          • @Ozbundy: Lol they encouraged people to come in and take advantage of a unpublished pricing error

            • @DemocracyManifest: So if they followed correct laws and employed people with RSA’s that person would of known it’s again RSA laws to sell grog that cheap?

              • @Ozbundy: It's not the RSA, its the floor price, and its mostly to do with tax. Essentially BWS in this instance was giving it away for practically free; OP would have been told to correct price, and did not. It's usually honored with a price ticket error but this was not a price ticket error; if you didn't see 6pk for $7 or whatever it was advertised you are lucky you got the price as anyone else would have not let that go through

                • @DemocracyManifest: This makes more sense mate.

The manager of one of the local stores I hit sold me 4 cartons worth.

  • +1

Anyone know the Facebook group that shared it ? I want to join lol

  • -3

To any of you guys thinking you'll be able to grab this absolute RIPPA DEAL by ranting and raving about how this bloke said we have to honor the price, as a fellow BWS employee, we definitely don't lol. It is actually against the law the sell them at this price as it is against Australia's RSA guidelines, OP clearly has no clue what their going on about. We are supposed to honor what the tickets say in store, but not what it scans up as. You can try your best, any to get some so far are very lucky, but I very much doubt anyone is out of their minds enough to sell them at this price now, especially with the amount of store communications we have received, (not that we should've needed them to realize not to…).

    • +4

Aren’t you the life of the party…

      • Trying to save all you alco speds from making your way down and getting disappointed… maybe give it another read.

        • +1

Aren't the RSA guidelines just that, guidelines. I assume you are referring to a breach of the Liquor Control Act 1988?

    • How would selling a 4x 6 packs at $7 be a breach of RSA? You can usually buy a carton.

      • +1

You can buy a carton, but not for less than $50 usually, other than times like these lmfao. Australia is just a little strange with their alcohol laws, especially QLD, so the sale of that much alcohol for that cheap is considered irresponsible service of alcohol. Just like the shot buckets we used to sell years back, they are no longer within RSA guidelines because of their price:alcohol-content ratio. So therefore 24x 4.6% drinks for $7 is a big no no according to Mr Government

        • +1

As BWS is currently employing people without their RSA (on the condition they get it in next 21days; do those employees technically have to follow the RSA line of denial?

        • +2

Yeah - the 'floor price' of booze is a political issue in other countries but due to our cooked tax systems it's usually not an issue! Except in the case of goon (which is 'low alcohol' anyway) most booze here is too expensive to be too cheap!

Damn shame about those shot buckets though. Silly cheap fun.

          • +1

@krunchymoses: Definitely feel you there, the shot buckets were always a great way to get the night going quick. You can still get them at some independent bottle shops but unfortunately that means they aren't as cheap anymore :'(

        • You're wrong about the shot buckets btw.

We stopped selling them and anything that encourages rapid intoxication or anything that makes a game of drinking due to CSR policies.

Same as uniform policy. It's not a goverment mandated law but helps us look responsible in the eyes of the public.

  • +1

Op is the mvp right there despite the naysayers
