Another free game from GOG. Free from 11pm AEST.

Embark on an all-new adventure with Shantae, the hair-whipping belly dancing genie. After losing her magic, Shantae teams up with the nefarious pirate Risky Boots in order to save Sequin Land from a curse. As a pirate, Shantae gains new weapons to advance her quest, slay monsters, battle epic bosses…

  Anyone a Shantae fan here? I played HGH and hated the platforming in that game. Some maps in HGH I would climb to the top and accidentally miss something only to fall all the way down.

  Generally like platforming, mario, shovel knight, Celeste but just hated HGH platforming. Is PC going to be different?

      Bought it on switch over a year ago with HGH so already have a copy of it. But massive backlog means I have to be very selective

        HGH isn't that good a game compared to this and riskys imo. This one has some of the best movement (once you start getting pirate abilities) so it might be better from that perspective but if you found HGH frustrating from the platforming I dunno if you'd enjoy it that much

      I think he developed the switch version of the original Shantae.

      But he recently helped re master Quake and it's one of the all time greatest re-releases ever made.

    imo hgh is the worst of the 5, because instead of being a side scrolling Zelda (some call it metroivania but I think this is a better comparison) it's stage based, but don't expect much better platforming in the other games either

    Yeah I felt it was low budget when I played one Shantae and the Pirates Curse on 3ds.

    I think this series is second only to sonic in terms of getting by on nostalgia and bugger all else. Still free is free, and I will def play this, so it's a rec from me.

  I enjoyed this a lot on 3DS - not so much Half Genie Hero though. Might do a second playthrough with this version.
