Saw an ad for this on Facebook. Tourism Australia are running a campaign where you can send a free book to anyone outside of Australia.

About the book:

"With Love, From Aus is a book written by some of your favourite – and most inspiring – personalities across Australia. From Chris Hemsworth to Terri Irwin, With Love, From Aus weaves together personal stories about adventure, mateship and Australia’s unmistakable ‘no worries’ attitude. But these stories all have one thing in common; they share what makes life ‘Down Under’ truly special."

The book is currently available from Amazon for USD 23.15, or from Booktopia for AUD 36.50 + postage. The retail version appears to be a 151 page hardcover - not sure if the freebie is hardcover, but free is still a good price for a paperback.

Overseas the past few months, people here have seen what’s happened to Australia and this book isn’t gonna fix the tarnished image.

Exactly the opposite reaction from my friends living in The Czech Republic. They are going through the 420,000 vacancies in Australia and trying to figure out if it will support their visa. We are incredibly lucky country.

Friends in less well off country want to work in a country with high minimum wage. Wow.

You would be better off being honest with them and leave them in the better place.

    • My sister had to pay IDR37000 tax for it!

  • Sent to Canada and they wanted to charge a $1.95 customs fee to the recipient!

    • Turns out the customs fee was a scam email, whoops!

The recipient is rapt. Fascinated by the pictures and the stories.

    Thank you.

    • Did it just randomly appear?
Or did they actually send out tracking etc.

      • +1

  • Received the book. It looks nice (wrapped in plastic so I’ve only seen the cover)

Would it be suited to an upper primary age child to read? She loves nonfiction.
