      Possibly they are.
However June update has fixed most of the issues as per reddit and whirlpool forum. But ymmv.

    • +14

I'm not sure about the broken features or maybe I'm the lucky one, but I haven't experienced any issues since I bought the mobile about 5 months ago. No Bluetooth drops, wif is fine, 5g works, no battery issues and the fingerprint sensor also works

      • +10

Same, have had zero issues from launch, ordered it the day it released. Didn't get the January update and every update since has only improved the device.

      • I've had my P6pro for a couple of months now and it's been rock-solid. The only thing that annoys me is the lack of a shortcut to switch to vibrate but I'm sure someone will chime in with a solution.

        • I'd like to know too! Before Android 12 they had one where you could press Power + Volume up together to activate vibrate or silent but it's gone since they changed the power button to activate the Assistant.

          • @The-Real Team Doge: Never knew about that one, would be handy. Although not a huge time save compared to volume button then touch the screen.

            • +1

@kulprit: Yeah I suppose not, but at least you can do it without having to look at the screen or taking it out of your pocket!

      • I got my P6 Pro during JB Hi-Fi promotion. It's been flawless!
It usually takes Google 6-8 months to fix all bugs after the phone is released, so, now it's the time buy a Pixel phone

        • Well they will only get cheaper and cheaper too. Generally waits till the next pixel is announced and they will be dirt cheap

    • +4

P6 pro literally no issues at all.

    • +1

I've had no issues with my Pixel 6 Pro, nor have I had any issues like you described and by the look of the replies to your
comment my experience is consistent with other people. Are you speaking from experience or are you just saying stuff?!

      • +4

I've had a p6 pro since day 1. Lots of issues, some fixed, some reintroduced after being previously fixed. Most recent is the touch screen not responding issue. Fixed in april or may, reintroduced in June update. If you look at the android bug reports, you'll see lots of people having lots of issues. They may not affect 90% of users, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. This is a flagship phone from the biggest android maintainer and it has been far from a good experience for me and many others.

        • +2

Totally agree, but in general consensus people who are happy with the device rarely post about there positive experience as compared to the ones who are having not so great experience.
I would definitely give Google benefit of doubt given its there 1st gen Soc, but hopefully things are much more stable in 7series.

Same price for the Google Pixel 6 Pro at JB as well

Cant see discount on Pixel 6. Still shows as $999

    • +3

      Yeah it's not on sale

      • Seems like Google has changed there mind :-p
It was showing 20% off, I’ll edit the post.

        • +2

dammit, I want the straight 6, not the Pro - haven't seen a discount on the base model yet. Makes me wonder if it is more prone to some of the issues users have been reporting and they're just trying to push people towards the Pro?

          • +1

@trawg: Happy P6 (regular) owner here. Purchased at launch and no issues of any sort to date.

          • @trawg: Telstra currently has the base Pixel 6 for $849 on selected colours

            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/707152

            • @x: I saw, thanks! I'm hoping for it on the Google Store as I have a bunch of credit from another purchase though :(

  • Happy with my pixel buds a from the Telstra deal.

  • +4

Looks to be a bunch of discounts on the cameras too

Good to see a lot more accessories coming to the AU Store.

Im saving my money for the 7 Pro, I prefer the slightly more refined look, and hoping the Tensor v2 chip has also been further optimised to work better/faster with all other aspects of the phone.

    • +5

I'm saving for the 8 pro

      • +8

I'm saving for a rainy day

        • +2

          That's today (Melbourne) :-)

      • Im saving for the coming recession.

    • +3

I spent all my money on Fuel

      • +1

I spent all my money on ice berg lettuce

    • Im in the same boat - im tempted here but would rather have the 7 as an upgrade from my ulefone

  • +6

too bad, there is no more free photos storage since P4.

    • +2

Pixel 6 Pro > Syncthing > Pixel 1XL = Free, unlimited, full resolution backups.

      • +1

pixel 5 had unlimited photos too so it didnt stop at P4.

        • +2

Only the P1 has original quality, full resolution backups so my P6 and my wife's P5 both sync to the P1 we have permanently plugged in at home. I also did this with my P4, and have a folder on my computer that syncs with the P1 as well.

          • -3

            @ebosh:

Only the P1 has original quality, full resolution backups

Yeah but the original quality of the P1 camera is worse than compressed image from a Pixel 6 pro. You you really aren't losing anything

            • @1st-Amendment: But if you have an original Pixel you can take photos with your Pixel 6 Pro, have it sync to the OG Pixel and have unlimited, original quality images backed up to Google's cloud service. Regardless of the original Pixel's camera it's the agreement with Google for unlimited storage that makes it valuable

            • @1st-Amendment: I was uploading my dslr photos through pixel 1 though

              • @onlinepred: Yep I backed up all my old DSLR photos as well. For the price I paid for the P1 (~$90) it's been fantastic. I'm not sure what I'll do when it eventually dies.

            • @1st-Amendment: At least you read the first 20% of what he wrote

              • -3

                @bejahi:

At least you read the first 20% of what he wrote

And you understood 0% of what I wrote. So smart!

    • Yes I agree but for some reason my partner and I who own a Pixel 4a and 6 Pro, we still get free photo (and video) storage.
I do pay for Google Drive/One storage but the photos do not contribute to my subscription limit.
I noticed someone else on OzB comments state that they continue to get free storage with their Pixel also.

      • I don't know how many times it's been repeated above, but yes the free photo storage is still ongoing, but it's for normal/standard quality resolution photos or whatever it's called. The Pixel P1 has free, unlimited photo storage for original quality, full (highest) resolution photos. If you want to store the same original quality, full (highest) resolution photos from your Pixels other than P1, it's not free (i.e counted towards your storage quota/limit).

        • @brickwall I don't know how many times I've said this but thanks for the information!!

          • @PukeyLuke: Lol no worries, I was replying because you said "for some reason..we still get free photo storage", sounds like you were not sure why you're still getting them hehe…but if you know that you're only getting free photo storage for normal quality photos, then sorry, my bad😅.

Nest Cam Outdoor price is decent, but you can get it for $248 at OW right now.
Picked 2 up myself this week.

    • +1

What are your thoughts on the nest cam? Looking at going either eufy or nest can't decide right now.

      • The battery life is shorter than Eufy and needs a subscription for stuff which eufy does for free.

  • Where does it say about the google one bonus? I purchased a pixel 6 2 days ago and can’t see any mention of it.

    • You have to subscribe to the top tier membership to avail 10% credit on any purchases made on google store.
Once you subscribe on the checkout page I’ll show the estimated credit.

      • thanks mate, damn i should have done that before I purchased the phone 2 days ago.

        • You can return it within 30 days, reorder again the same products.

  • +2

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the 10% back in store credit only applies if you have a Premium Google One membership @ $125/year. Further, I think it applies to any purchase from the Google Store, at any time, not just for this sale.

    • +3

      yes you are correct

    • +2

You can go monthly and cancel after you receive your credit

  • Just to be clear, this doesn't stack with the 20% promo sent a few weeks ago.
"You can only use one code per order. Codes cannot be combined with other promotions. Terms and Conditions"

I got too excited and totally missread OPs comment on this.

    • That is correct, code cannot be stacked.

  • Anybody knows if these Nest cams are any good? Would use it to check on my pets when we are away.

    • +1

I have the eufycam for my pets and it is great

  • perfect timing to make my price protection claim with 28 degrees

  • Looking for the new buds with anc !!

    $1,048 + $100 Harvey Norman Gift Card @ https://www.harveynorman.com.au/google-pixel-6-pro-5g-128gb.…
Maybe try your luck with this to see if they will do it cheaper: 'Seen it cheaper? Chat with our team and ask for a JB Deal on 13 52 44'

  • +1

I'd definitely give Officeworks a go with the Harvey's price match. In this scenario they will often reduce the price by the gift card amount and beat it by 5%. Used to be the case anyway.

Went with the 6 Pro for me and mrs to replace P30 Pros. First impressions - very happy, and all compatibility issues with AAWireless dongle I was having are gone. (AAWireless is a dongle that provides wireless android auto to wired head units.. great little device!)

Went with Spigen Ultra Hybrid cases and screen protectors - both fit really well and allow drivers licence to be kept in the back window of the case, to maintain wallet-free.

Going to take a bit of getting used to, but like that with any new phone.
