  • Last time I bought a brand new nintendo switch pro controller on ebay I got sent a boxless wired second-hand PowerA brand switch controller. This was a week or two ago

    • Would you mind letting me know which seller you bought off so I can steer clear of.

      Thanks mate

Just noticed now it was only a partial refund and I still paid for $9 postage, FFS

          Thanks for that!

Dude that sucks, is there any way ebay will do something about it? You got scammed for the controller and now you're getting scammed for $9.

I'd be doing a PayPal or credit card chargeback for the rest.

  • Did you refund?

    • sure did Limmy

  • This is back in stock - they have a few different ads going though, from what i can see 2 that mention a "maybe damaged box" and 1 that doesn't.. all of them have more stock than they did a couple hours ago and now im worried I just bought my partner a fake controller hah. their ebay rating looks good though..

  • Controller arrived but a cheap knock off not a genuine item

    • Did you read their description?

I clicked & had a look at the item description. Are they smoking crack, or what??

the version I received is that exact fake JPN one

        • Yeah mine was also fake, reported the seller to ebay and got a full refund

          • @Kazusa: I also got my controller, is also fake one, but eBay refuse me to return and refund. They said “This item isn't covered by eBay Money Back Guarantee. We're sorry you had a problem with your purchase.” how could I do now?

            • @ally-skey: I appealed and threatened a chargeback and restated the item is counterfeit

              • @Kazusa: did you provide any evidence?

                • @ally-skey: i took apart the controller and sent a picture of the actual pcb to the received pcb

                  • @Kazusa: would you mind send a picture of pcb? Thank you

        • Ebay refused to refund me also, I went straight to Paypal

          • @smartadam: How did you say with PayPal? this is my first time to face this problem, no experience. T.T

            • @ally-skey: Lodge a charge back, they will deal with Ebay on your behalf

I received mine today and it is also a fake one. It's a very good fake but still fake. I've started the return process, will see if it gets rejected.

Well that wasn't fun - I opened an eBay return and this was very quickly denied. The seller is running a pretty comprehensive scam. In their description they list all the differences from their 'Japanese' controllers to Australian controllers. So when you raise a return and state all the reasons that mean the controller is fake, the seller simply points to the item description.
I my case they said the internal PCD differences were due to region locking. WTF.
In any case, I'm an idiot for not actually reading the description properly (normally I don't make these errors). It's fairly clear they aren't genuine, even if they are Japanese or Australian.
The seller has got a great scam going on.
Once you raise the return the seller also blocks you as a buyer so you can't reach out to them again.
Fortunately, I did a chat to eBay and they re-opened the case and refunded the item to me. But I don't think they actually believed me, I think they just refunded me to make me go away. So the seller probably gets to keep the money and get away with the scam.

    • I use @Kazusa the way, I took apart the controllers, both my owned and the fake one, and take the picture of pcb, and compare the different, send to eBay appeal. They refund money, and said that the seller is penalised for this transaction also this will then be included in seller's defect rate which directly impacts their Selling Performance on eBay. But I don’t believe either.
