Yep this price doesn't make any sense. We're about to go into recession too.
Recession could go both way, things may actually cost more, especially if OZ dollar drop in value.

I’ve waited 5 years to upgrade my card… 12years to upgrade the PC. Once I do it, I won’t care what happens with pricing. Can’t be gun-shy
only upset because I sold my 2080 when I had kids, then when I found time to game again I bought practically the same card for $200 more.
Could be worse… for many of us, that happened with cars.

What's a good realistic price for this?
Nobody can tell for sure but honestly I think $200 off is achievable depending on how long you want to wait. This is from simple price matching of the 6700 XT rough equivalent which went down to $535 earlier this month. Things might get a bit complicated with new gen and if you want a better model than the cheapest Eagle etc but overall prices will definitely drop. Also a couple of months ago when prices started to fall, EVGA 3060 ti was $699…i.e. there's a lot of room to drop.
