This is a nice price but after using one for work the last 6 months, this 2-in-1 model has a really annoying issue, likely due to its thermal design, that it is very often running at a high fan speed, even when idling or running minimal tasks.

Having a non-2-in-1 model of the same generation, the fan definitely does not kick up anywhere as often under the same loads.

    • Have you tried setting the maximum power to like 80% or soemthing

    • likely due to its thermal design

Is this in tablet mode (back to back)?

i7 in a small package + turbo boost probably part of the reason. Looking at the pictures of the inside there really isn't that much space for heat to exit. Got a latitude 3 series for work, the rear vent is pretty useful as a hand warmer.

I also had the 7390 laptop for work and I like it.

      • I've never used it in tablet mode, it sits "traditional" style on my desk propped up slightly on some books for increased airflow underneath(doesn't block any vents).

My other (personal)7390 that I love- everything that I needed in a laptop for a ripper price 4 years ago(esp when comparing vs the XPS equivalent). Struggle to even consider upgrading now seeing as it does everything I need and has been super reliable(even brought it around the world with me pre-covid).

  • Will this display and charge off a dell type c dock ?

    • Yes

  • bought, thank you.

  • want to buy but it says zero stock?

Sorry guys OOS, might have one or two that may come back in. We might do a 15" i7 8th Gen towards the end of the week since they have been so popular.

    • Thanks, on the lookout for one like this!

  • I should have just picked the bloody thing up 🙄

Australia Post are so hopeless these days. I'm in Brisbane about half an hour from this shop, I ordered on Monday and it looks like it won't be arriving at my house still at least next Monday, this is with "express post".

    • Maybe none of us have received it yet until Monday. It could be 3 business days if no further delay with Australia post. Certainly not as fast as DHL which arrives next day from order.

    • No tracking for me past "Received and ready for processing" - is that normal? expected delivery 4/7, ie 14 days to Perth.

Mine finally updated today to "item processed at facility" and the delivery date has been updated to tomorrow. The original estimated delivery date was last Thursday… I am about half an hour from the store that posted it…

So yeah Aus post must be having some serious delays at the moment in Brisbane. Christmas peak period is going to be fun this year, better get all your online shopping done by September 😅

    Received mine today :)

Extremely happy with the condition, can barely tell it's been used 9.8/10 IMO.

    Going well so far :)

I just picked mine up from the post office - it's working but initially I had an issue with a few keys on the keyboard (O,0) not working but it came good after a couple of mins…… started it up again and making a few minor config changes and again the same keys stopped working…. It looks like a hardware issue with the keyboard - I notice that the centre keys have a very bright backlight whilst the edges are dull - curious if anyone else has seen this sort of thing on this model of Dell laptop?

Keyboard light looks even to me. Possibly yours was reassembled badly? Though I would not have expected more than removing bottom cover and blowing out the dust from a "refurb".
Mine is good. Am pleased to see the optional IR-camera for windows hello authentication was included.
