Does anyone have one of these / know how THICK a phone this can take? (I don't mean 79mm wide, I mean the thickness of the phone/case)
(I find it so freaking irritating that these companies never provide a maximum phone THICKNESS measure!!!)

It says on the jbhifi description for this that it fits Xbox S|X controllers

The elite controller appears to be same dimensions as xbox one controller so it should fit, as the grip is shown as fitting both xbox one and xbox series controllers.
How do you hook up xbox controller to say android?
You need to check which model controller but it should just be bluetooth or use a cable.
The first gen xbox one controllers and elite controller 1 (last gen used a specific 2.4ghz frequency) won't work but all newer ones will.

I feel a tablet controller would ideally be the ones that wrap the back and have switch style controls on the side.
I’m trying to imagine the right balance though. That seems like the tablet would be way too top heavy. There’s hours be a reason right.

Yep, having both, the 8BitDo one is MILES ahead in build quality. It's really a night and day difference.
