Might be worth checking your local Coles in their Special Buys section. I picked up a pack of 20 (under brand Seymour's homewares) at clearance price of $2.50 about couple of weeks ago, then earlier this week spotted it further reduced to $1.25.

Pretty good price for the pegs. Just a note that they are 304 Stainless Steel. The Aldi ones are 316 Stainless Steel.

There's no difference unless you live near the ocean/some source of chlorine spraying onto the pegs

        • +4

There is a massive difference if you DO live within say 5km of the sea. I live about that distance and the 304 pegs rust within 6 months.

        • Not chlorine.

          It's chlorides that causes corrosion.

Chlorides include substances like common salt (NaCl), calcium chloride, potassium chloride. Obviously, sea water is one of the strongest concentrations, but ground water can be heavily contaminated (think excess salinity in agricultural areas and bore water) and even rainwater will pick up chlorides among other pollutants as it falls through the air. So you don't need to live near the coast to get the problem.

304 stainless is NOT marine grade. It won't rust as easily as ordinary steel, but if/when it gets wet, it will certainly get surface corrosion and rust quite quickly, which will transfer to clothes.

@jebdra: I would love to know which part of this autistic outburst is supposed to be a meaningful contradiction of my comment.

Good quality stainless (316, look it up). Quite thick wire, much stronger than AliExpress jobs I already had, but might be hard to open for some.

yep true. they require more dexterity and strength to get them open. i miss my thumb

  • Are these on sale now ????

    • In special buys 22/6. Plenty of stock at my local aldi

Thx Op , Just saying , some Aldi special prices may not be that competitive enough compared to others Eg :

I wonder if anyone has ever asked Aldi to price match or beat ?

I ordered this and seemed to be of good quality but must say that I only had it for a couple of months. Works out cheaper

    • I bought similar ebay ones around a year ago and still going strong. Probably lost half of them by now, though.

  • Thanks for the reminder, got 3 packs this time. Will be good for summer.

  • Let's not forget, brethren and sisthren, the Tyrrany of Pegs!

  • Thanks, I’ve been waiting 6 months for these!

I also picked up the Stainless Steel Sock Hanger. At $14.99 I won’t claim it as a bargain, but it’s cute, strong, and far better than the crappy plastic Bunnings one I’ve been using.

  • Thank goodness they don’t have a L and R on these pegs like bloody socks.
Like my socks i don’t DARE put the R one on my L Foot 😳😂
