Horrible reviews on this product. Does not work and the company does not provide refunds. Stay away.

    • 100% agree!
Mine didn’t last even 8 months
Just stopped working. Company just takes you on wild email train.
Only buy if you want it for 6 months
      Waste of money

  • I have had a carlinkit 2 for a few years in 2 different cars and no issues, was about $110 off eBay.

    • I have CarLinkit 2 as well. Works fine most of the time.
Every now and again it hangs up, just disconnect USB port and reconnect.
The other annoying thing is it takes about 30 secs to sync. That is a long time.

I have an aftermarket wireless AC kenwood in my 2011 Mazda. Itis much more reliable and connects in about 20 secs.

Wired carplay seems instantaneous, but not as convenient. And I keep leaving my phone in the car. That is the absolute best bit about wireless carplay. It is always in your pocket.

      • Mine never disconnects, right about the 30 seconds by the time I back out my driveway it’s good to go. Sometimes it’s faster no idea why though. I wouldn’t go back to wired.

$60 on AliExpress for something that seemingly does much the same?

    • Interesting! I'll buy one and update

        Update:

The device came and it works exactly like the rest of these devices.

        Definitely recommend!

  • Yeah should get it my Xmas lol

  • I just got a Carlinkit 3 (CarPlay only) and it's been great so far!

    • How is the music quality when played using carlinkit versus straight up Bluetooth connection? I have one of the cheaper no brand and the quality of music really suffers, so much that it annoys me and outweighs the convenience.

Been thinking of getting Carlinkit but worried it’ll be the same.

      • Bluetooth has a much smaller frequency range than wifi. Much much better over carplay. Plus all those data services.

You need a CarPlay or Android Auto compatible stereo in your car first though.

        • Sorry so the carlinkit connect via wifi? My cheap one uses Bluetooth.

          • @ndro777: Wireless CarPlay uses Bluetooth to initiate the connection and then WiFi for the actual data.

This should be across all wireless CarPlay devices, regardless of the brand of your unit.

        • So listening to my music through bluetooth rather than a wired carplay connection is better?

  • Love this! Had it in our Santa Fe for a couple of years now and works really well. Excellent value from my experience.

Have one in my 2021 CX-5 and 2022 Prado and have had no issues.

Use code NOW10 for an additional 10% off.

Carlinkit 4.0 is already out on Aliexpress, which comes with both wireless apple carplay and wireless android auto. ~$128 AUD and will probably be cheaper after Jun 27.

    • Why cheaper after June 27th?

sorted out that all codes between LTB31 and LTB45 gives 15% off to $69.21

  • I have an aftermarket head unit, can I buy this carlinkit 4.0 to turn my wired carplay to wireless ?

  • Wait, Carplay isn't already wireless for iphones? I thought this adapter was to allow an android device to sync with carplay.

    • Depends on the headunit. This box makes a wired carplay headunit into a wireless one.

    • In some cases it’s a licensing issue. My car has Wired only CarPlay, yet the low end model of the same car has wired and wireless due to no licensing clash.

      Frustrating.
