  • Seiko deals are like Harris Scarfe 70% off clearance prices.

    • There is Seiko, and there is Seiko.

  • Excellent deal on this watch, great cheap workhorse if you are able to look pass the movement (newer version has 70hours instead of 50).

Similar money will buy a Sumo. But, this one looks better (I would think so), esp with a metal strap.

    • +1

What’s the movement on this? I can’t see it listed on the site.

      • +2

        6r15

Featuring the Seiko mechanical hacking movement 6R15 with an approximate 50 hour power reserve and approximate tolerance of +25 / -15 seconds per day.

If 6r35 accuracy is anything to go by, +30/-30 a week. Some weeks are better.

  • looks nice if you want an auto. I have a similar solar

    • Solar (even quartz) any day of the week unless one knows why he/she wants an auto and would appreciate an automatic watch.

      • some people like the way the second hand sweeps on auto typically 1/3 of a second jumps vs the 1 second jumps on typical quartz or solar to extend battery or charge life ….. I preffer convenience and accuracy of solar and quartz.

        • :) exact reason why I reckon the spring drives are some of the best movements.

  • mmm niiiiice

  • I don't usually use the word gorgeous but when I do it's for the SPB071J

  • I can appreciate the blasphemy I’m about to spew.. but growing up I had a couple of tags, many seikos and citizens.. nothing too fancy.. but always found myself changing the time due to lapses minutes. I was to dumb or young to realise anything to do with the movement etc.
now I have my Apple Watch I could never imagine having to reset my time to be correct.

I get the collector hobby aspect but is there a good watch that is actually precise and keeps the time a lot better than a $50 Casio?

    • I hear what you're saying…and agree when it comes to knowing the "correct" time, but sometimes mechanical watches are beautiful-looking outside and inside, and I buy them just for that.

    • They're effectively jewelry with some intricate mechanics. I love them precisely because they're tactile, intricate, and interesting to look at.

  • Great price, OOS now

Nice watches are more about aesthetics than anything else….I don't collect them because I need to know the time.
