    Junk deal

    • with cracker like pizzas (aka cracked pizzas)

    • +1

@hopper: Care to explain why it is a "Junk Deal"? Saves me $1.95 over what I usually pay using existing vouchers.

      • +14

I mean a deal for junk food. Like how we say dyson deals we say 'this deal sucks'

        • +2

Ah, fair enough. Not an obvious "Pun" comment until you noted it :-)

    • 2 dola garlic bread , shutup and take my money !

      • +1

You forgetting the $0 garlic bread offer from past

  • -2

cheaper to make your own or not?

    • +9

Doubt it unless you have all the ingredients on hand. Added to this the time, effort and power use. On the other hand, at least you know what you are making and can adjust ingredients to suit your taste.

    • +4

You probably can't make such crap on your own

              @Chmmr: Only when it’s 100% cashback

              • @jjno41: I tried pizza hut for the first time in 15~ odd years a few weeks back with that deal. Ordered thin and crispy pepperoni like I do with dominos and the base was crunchy like a biscuit. Terrible dough. At least my local dominos use actual dough and not some frozen premade frisbee's.

        • Can you do it for only $6?

    • would be.. red onion, tomatoes, chilli flakes & rocket

    TIP: Cost of living pressure:

Order the value range, that way you can get buy multiple and try out different ones.

Always go Deep Pan (you get less with thin or classic less dough pizza).

    Take care ozbargainers

    • +13

I always go thin and crispy, I feel like eating a mouthful of dough is just empty carbs making me fat. I enjoy the taste of the toppings and just use the base as a way of holding it all together.

      • +2

I thought that too and bought a thin and crispy on the weekend. The crust was like crispy paper and the topping was thin and crispy too. Overall thinner than a 'shapes' cracker. Never again.

        • +2

True, it seems like they've gone extra thin lately! So I tried classic crust last time instead, and found that too thick, so back to too thin for me. To each their own I guess!

          • +2

@matterink: Yeah it definitely did. I feel they're switched to Lebanese bread instead of thin dough

      • Thin and crispy actually has more fat compared to classic sorry to tell you :/

        • Perhaps it might look that way, but if so only in percentage terms.

Pizza dough doesn't magically become higher fat by using less of it.

(I used to work at a pizza place and it was the same dough just less of it, at least where I worked - not Domino's)

(incidentally I suspected your claim may not hold in percentage terms either - higher carb yes but not fat - unless perhaps you are talking dessert pizzas. Like Domino's doesn't sell)
I verified that "pizza dough is relatively low in fat" by google, various nutrition sites.

        • +1

It is the carbs and calories that you need to look at. Flour is a highly processed carb meaning it will be broken down in a short period of time. Fat doesn't make you fat, it satiates you.

          • -1

@Tim349850: The fat you eat is the fat you wear.
The calories in meat and cheese on top of the pizza would be a lot more than a thin crust dough.

Still don't see how thin could be more fatty either, unless they make them both with the same amount of oil.

            • +1

@G-rig: thin n crispy used 4x the oil for a batch back in the day that pan dough did. cant remember how many pizza's one would get out of a thin batch though off top of my head to make the comparison fair

              • @perfectlydark: Nutritional values would be on the website but not really worries.

Just comes down to serving size.

            • @G-rig:

The fat you eat is the fat you wear

              How so

              • @FredAstair: From my knowledge you both are partially right. In both cases fats and carbs can be utilised as energy by the body and not be directly stored as fat if you are in a deficit. If there is excess of either, then it would be stored as fat or converted into fat. It's why a keto diet works and also why by minimising carbs you can also shed fat.

So for example, in a carb rich diet where you are eating in excess, cutting carbs will make you lose fat as it reduces your total daily intake compared to what you burn daily. Same as a fat rich diet.

It then goes another level where eating carbs spikes your insulin levels which makes your body go into fat storage mode. Which is why a high fat and protein diet is also known to manage weight loss as your body looks to protein and fats for energy since there is no carbs, which also means no insulin spike and no 'immediate' storage mode. But if you eat too much protein and fats and your body doesn't use it for energy, it will get stored as fat.

                • @KonkyDong: Even though you have presented partial evidence here I fail to see how this applies to pizza and pizza bases.

As pizzas cause insulin spikes due to the Carbs.
So this would mean that the Carbs are actually the problem here for weight gain, or difficultly loosing weight.

So with that you could also state the Carbs you eat is the fat you wear.

      • +1

I used to advocate for it for the lower calories but I tried it in late May with some other flavours I normally don't get and it wasn't good at all. For example it was terrible with the Cheesy Garlic with Crème Fraiche. The base seemed different and was definitely crispy, too crispy, and there was little to the pizza in general and not much flavour. It seems to work best on pizzas with a lot of flavour and toppings, like mega meatlovers.

So I then decided to go back to classic crust in the June offer and it was better and more satisfying, and actually I think I might have even been less thirsty for some reason compared to the thin and crispy or at the least about the same, which I wasn't expecting because it has more sodium and carbs. I just use my exercise bike a bit to make up for the extra calories of classic crust.

        • Ironically it's mot à good idea to blame calories, fats or proteins here.

One thing your argument does cover here is Carbs versus Carbs.

There's some good study being done on this now. As we've a long history of bad science surrounding weight gain/loss in the past.

Harvard did one décades ago, with calorie/carb/and caloric réduction in their research.
          Quite interesting tbf

      • Did you know there is more Carbs in a thin then the classic crust?

    • To save people trying out multiple ones……they are all trash.

      Take care.

Domino's is fine, I don't understand all the hate. It's so cheap for the quantity of food, super quick. Sure it's not healthy but it's takeaway pizza? What do you expect

    • Better than pizza hut for sure.
Just not cheap like it used to be, but alright on cheap days.

      • +1

speak for yourself, my local pizza hut is way better than dominos, the dominos always seems to burn them

        • Yeah very dependant on the store for both.
Just hate the extra thick crust which seems to include traditional and thick crust.. if I wanted a load of bread I'd buy one ha

    • Seems to depend a fair bit on the store and staff making it… I'd written them off fully after so many terrible pizzas but one of these sort of deals came around and for laughs got some from my local store (I'd never tried that store before) and it was actually really good especially for the price

    • It's more than fine, when inflation is added

    • It's terrible. Cheap sure…. but still terrible.

  • Nearly missed this. Cheers

  • Ordered 4 pizzas last time from Dominos and 2 of them were burnt. Their pizzas are truly disgusting and you do get what you paid for.

Fat aint bad. Unless it's trans fat

        • -1

And keep saturated fats as low as possible.

Dairy mik ain't healthy .. free puss, blood and bacteria

People go on about carbs, but there's usually more fat than protein in a lot of junk food.

Just eat half the pizza instead of a whole one (or two lol)

        • Excess calories are also bad. You cant just pick and choose details when comparing things. You literally picked one thing to compare the two without the rest of macros/micros/calories and say pizza bad. Dont bring that dumb shit in

  • +1

Is this even still profitable with the rise of inflation?

    • You wouldn't think so, but last month's offer; the pizzas had dramatically less topping than usual at my local store and as such, the base burned. I couldn't even make out any cheese on it. It was the worst two pizzas I'd ever eaten. So if they pull that again, I'm sure it is still a little profitable.

      • Must be an outlet thing as mine have been consistently well made with generous toppings. YMMV of course.

        • Yup same here. Amount of toppings not bad, however size of slice is smaller than my palm lol.

  • are they doing this deal like once a month now?

  • Lunch and dinner sorted! Thanks!

    • Shame about breakfast…

      • I'm sure I can spare a couple of slices for brekkie too 🤤

  • +3

Their thin and crispy has gone down the drain seriously. It used to be a thin pizza base now I'm pretty sure they're just using Lebanese bread.

  • Value Range ones come at $6 not $4 for me…..like the Hawaiian for instance.

  • Can I buy for pick up in 2 weeks?

  • +1

fyi, does not need app, works fine on website

    • +3

Good, I am sick of companies that force people into the app just to increase their numbers (especially when the app and the website are the same from a digital point of view).

  • Pre-ordered 2 pizzas for lunch 1pm. Pizzas weren't ready until 1:25pm. So prepared for a big delay during lunch and possibly dinner prime times…

    • +2

Never pre-order. They always seem to mess up the timing or orders. Now i only order for pickup asap.

  • Has anyone elses Domino's app gone into some kind of lofi mode, where alot of graphics have been removed.

  • thank you, ordered 1 x Garlic Prawn and 1 x Chicken Supreme dinner is sorted for the fam!

  • Could anyone please let me know how can I advance order? Need it on 7 July and when entering coupon it says "THE VOUCHER 716712 HAS EXPIRED."

    • +1

With Domino's, you can only order for pick up within the day/time of the promo (which is today only).

      • Yeah, suspected that, thanks anyway

  • Pizza quality seems to be really down compared to 3-4 years ago imo.

    • +1

Domino's reduced their pizza size. Luckily pizza hut is keeping it real

  • Three premium pizzas.

They forgot the post bake sauce on two, and they gave not much sauce on the one that they remembered.

Also got into the store and find that they now charge a surcharge for cards (1.5% - lucky still less than 2% hsbc cashback). They had a little sign on the counter and said something about it will help them 'keep prices low' lol.

Plus dominos is copping it for introducing the '6% delivery fee' in the last few days. Might as well order through delivery platforms instead of their own website.

  • Dinner and a bit of lunch tomorrow sorted, 2 Trad. and a bread for $14, thanks OP, nice work 👍

  • I read that they are bringing in a delivery charge

  • ordered 4 this evening all good. Never had burned ones.. touch wood. For my area dominos is much better than pizza hut and the staff is not rude either.

  • None of the codes are working for me.

    Why???

    • Try doing it from the app and not from their website.
Tried adding the code from their webpage, got the expired message. When ordered from the app and it got accepted. Just ordered like 5 mins back, worked fine for me.

  • +1

just picked up my pizzas from Auburn NSW, ordered loaded pepperoni and loaded supreme with the codes, and they definitely gave me the non-loaded versions as I ordered from there before. Very disappointing!!

    • +1

I mean, why are you telling us? Call the store and get a refund.

      • maybe because they changed how loaded the loaded versions are?

  • "Premium Pizza's"? Didn't know Dominos was in the comedy business.

    • So premium they keep forgetting the sauces.

Out of I think 7 times I have ordered in the last year, they have had the sauce 4 times. They are doing slightly better than a coin toss.

      • Aah… that's probably in the optional extras.

  • Why do they use the thinnest little slices of pepperoni, they are almost like paper thin shavings. Everytime I get the pepperoni pizza half of the pepperoni is so crispy that it's bordering on inedible. I can't imagine anyone actually likes it that way!
