Hard to upvote this.. Only thing considerable is the brekky wrap for me.

Edit: I like the double cheeseburger too

    • -4

I'll stick to maccas. At least you can order sausage no egg as a standard.

      • Wow, that seems so hard to tell them at the counter/speaker.

        • +1

Yes but HJ, don't reduce the price for removing the Egg, and they don't have no egg as a standard. I usually use the App to order.

      • Fk Maccas haha

        • I agree, but Maccas of a morning are:-
          1. Closer to work
          2. Have more App Brekky deals
          3. Are quicker than HJ's
          4. Have a Rewards system on all purchases
          5. Have a product with no egg as a standard

  • +40

    Inflation is real guys 😕

    • +30

      Haha does anyone doubt it?

On the plus side these less appealing vouchers have noticeably curtailed my hj intake; silver lining, right?

      • +1

now it really is a treat

      • Went they drop he Whopper deal last year same thing happen here.

    • +3

Yeah two whoppers used to be $8, but has quickly gone up $2 in about a year or so.

Shouldn't be eating this crap anyway too often.

    • +4

just need to look at the price of beef over the last 5 years to realise prices need to rise ….. it’s why places like maccas did so much promotion of chicken products ….cheaper protein than beef and because chickens are raised indoors no,price fluctuations due to droughts or floods or overseas demand for beef …. we don’t export chicken meat but we do beef.

      • +8

They should be promoting the vegan ones then, it's still relatively new so the price point still isn't below beef but should be. you can sub the whoppers for rebels but yeah still not exactly cheap.

Funny the price of food crisis, but people will still buy take out and coffees out.

      • Chicken is actually subject to droughts and floods and rising costs etc due to feed and water costs. yeah not as much as beef but definitely still affected and had huge increases during those periods too..

    • Back in the days of freshly cooked flame grilled double whopper with cheese 3$ something @cbd melb downstairs swanston st HJ.

I was with my 2x the size of me 6 foot Samoan mate who just became a vego convert, asking. Double whopper with cheese please.. No burger patty but lots of lettuce.. thanks! The staff at the front had a good suppressed silent chuckle but was happy to oblige! And the burger came out 2x the stack taller than the original burger with patty! FastF>> to this day. he would probably be met with a shock horror wtf man look!!.. extra $3 for 20g of lettuce please or you want extra $2 for 2 bok choy instead?

    • +1

Inflation has been real for many years, just the governement hid it from us. Soon we will play catch up and it's going to hurt.

  • +32

    2 Whoppers …$11.45… Inflation @ 15% apparently.

    • +18

can I get it $3 cheaper without the lettuce…..

      • +2

Not sure you are guaranteed lettuce atm

        • +1

Yeah, I just grabbed a Whopper and no lettuce of any type, not even cabbage, just not the same.
Putting a positive spin on it, I won't be eating this crap for a while due to this :)

          • @SimAus007: I ordered a burger from KFC and my usual saved order has extra lettuce. Didn't think anything of it, but when I opened it..wow.. literally half a lettuce. I'm rich I tells ya!

  • +16

Worst vouchers in a long time.

    • +35

Worst vouchers since the worst vouchers from last time.

  • +6

I know it may not be the bargain it once was, but let's be honest, we are ALL using these vouchers when getting our HJ's. Lol.

    • +9

I’m using the Shake & Win instead :P

Get your phone out, stand outside the store for a few mins and then head into the store

    • +3

Nah, shake and win + survey code. That being said, I haven't been to HJs in > 8 months as the last burger tasted like burnt sawdust. They've changed something and they are gross.

      • Tell me about this survey code. I didn't know about it, and I pride myself on being a shake n win veteran. I have 8 burner accounts to ensure success!

        • Get a physical receipt and do the online survey, then write down the code at the top of the receipt and show to staff at checkout. Been using the same one now for a long time as my local will very rarely take them off me (even if they did though, just get a new receipt at the same time then quickly complete survey again).

          • @MiscOzB: Very good thanks. They have never given me a receipt so I didn't know. Seems similar to the KFC survey hack as they rarely ask for theirs.

          • @MiscOzB: Are HJ's still offering the free chips and drink with feedback receipt? My local (QLD) would not accept and said the feedback rewards were discontinued.

            • @ozasterix: Funny you should ask that… I had HJ's yesterday and they still gave the chips and drink (used the same receipt which I was able to keep once again), but on the new receipt they gave me for the order there's no mention of the free chips and drink by giving feedback, it just has "https://www.hungryjacks.com.au/feedback" under "Tell us your thoughts!". So maybe they've officially discontinued it but my local (in NSW) is still providing it? I'm not sure. "myhjexperience.com" redirects to some other site and looks different now yet still has an option to enter a survey code, but there is no survey code on the receipt I was given.

              • @MiscOzB: Same receipt in Qld then - no mention of the free chips and drink anymore and just a link to their feedback page (no rewards).

              • @MiscOzB: Same experience for me, today. The receipt no longer has a survey code only an invitation to leave feedback. I think they may no longer offer the free chips and drink for feedback.

        • last time i looked at the receipt it was selected receipts for free fries and drink and cashier wouldn’t accept it, not every receipt free drink and fries for doing survey, unlike KFC …. else my go to was use receipt for free drink and fries and just get a whopper for lunch …..

        • -1

phones are dual sim ….so you carry 4 phones for 8 burner accounts ?????

or 5th phone for your non burner account ?

      • +4

Yep, best value now is Shake & Win $4 Bacon Deluxe, $4 Whopper or $1 BBQ Cheeseburger and combine them with free chips and drink from survey receipt (have multiple accounts too of course). That's what I often do for a cheap feed now.

Can't remember the last time I used one of these vouchers, value is terrible now.

        • Yep, exactly the same. They still doing the whopper for $4? The voucher used to be 2 for $7 when that came out.

          • @tunzafun001: Yeah still $4. Always seems pretty common too, more common than Bacon Deluxe at least.

      • Not a deal, but i have not had HJ's in about 8 months either but i had their breakfast BLAT yesterday and it was damn good. https://www.hungryjacks.com.au/menu/breakfast/turkish-brekky…

      • Would it kill them to heat the fricken bun? Why does HJ have cold buns? I like my buns hot.

    • Loose Change Menu only

  • +2

    Thanks!

  • +5

    Is phone ok?

    • +1

      Yes.

    • +19

      Yes but these prices aren't

    • -1

Lol. I know there is sarcasm there. But the answer always is Phone is fine

    • Sure for those prices, they laugh at you!

    • -1

a phone for a whopper, whoopy doopy do, yeah.

  • -2

Is phone fine? Sorry haven't used these in a while so just re-confirming 😁

  • -4

These get worse and worse every time. How are these still considered a bargain?

Neg vote reason: issue with retailer price jacking beyond typical rate of inflation

    • +5

Care to post one? Waiting since 2017 and still counting…..

    • +3

Ooph you're going to in for a real surprise when you try and buy a car, build a house, buy groceries…

      • Yup, 2017 to 2022 will be a real surprise

      • -3

Already did all that during covid. Still not feeling it.

        • +4

how are you an adult that bought a house and car in last 5 years yet can't wrap your head around why hungry jacks can't sell lets say 2 bbq brekky wraps for 5.95 like they used to? go to woolies and see prices of fruits, meat and vegetables.

          • +3

@[Deactivated]: Let's not act like this is the first time HJs has raised prices by ridiculous amounts. They've done it even during times of negligible inflation. Not sure how an adult like you can't understand that these coupons stopped being bargains a long time ago.

            • +1

@cheekymonkey97: What are the better value alternatives? If these are so deep into the "not bargain" territory, surely there'll be heaps of other things which actually are bargains

  • -6

KFC hack, 4 pieces for $7. Bye HJ

    • But KFC don't sell whopper without Lettuce 🤷‍♂️

  • +1

Better off making multiple accounts on the app for the shake n win offers but even then it's hardly worth it for me as there are no hungry jacks stores around where I live or work

  • +1

    Can't upvote, terrible offers.

  • +2

Vouchers are getting worse as the months roll on. Inflation/Supply Chains issues aside, HJs are drifting..

  • +4

I still feel quite 'jacked (off)' that they removed the coffee from the $4.25 muffin hash meal deal.

    • +1

Agree. Everyone needs a coffee at breakfast. Or at a minimum with that meal. They could have increased the price slightly to include the coffee! ☕

    • +8

Getting jacked off for $4.25, now that's a bargain.

  • +5

Thanks op for the effort of posting. Shame the prices have gone up so much :/

  • +1

What happened to the chips and drink that came with those whoppers?

  • +2

Anyone know what the pay is like at HJ's?
    - could be the the best bargain staring you right in the face at the bottom of the page.

"Get paid to make/serve the bargains found on ozbargains…….. = BARGAIN!!!"

  • +2

    Phone is fine

  • Is it me or am I failing to see the bargain here.

  • -6

I think these vouchers are still decent..

    • -2

      why?

  • +5

These vouchers are proof Hungry Jacks wants us to stay healthy.

    • +3

Yep, haven't touch HJ for 2yrs. Bye HJ hello KFC :)

      • +1

Kfc have raised prices on popular app deals.

      • I commented something similar but got negged into deletion

  • how do we use these via the phone

    • step 1: be friendly and say "hey I wanted to use this XYZ voucher please" raise your arm and display phone
      step 2: ????
      step 3": profit

    • +3

When you order just say I've got a voucher. No one has ever checked

      • +1

Only time I was questioned about it was when the franchisee owner (used to work at that particular store and remembered her) was serving me and said that I need to print it out to use it in future lmao. Otherwise in any other case, no one will care.

      • I've been checked before, but it isn't often. They've refused me because I didn't have my phone with me (my house was around the corner) and I wasn't able to show the vouchers haha

  • Throwback to vouchers from exactly 1 year ago :(

  • +3

The Jacks Fried Chicken burgers are great and I find them much better than McDonalds McChicken burgers and even KFC chicken burgers. (the only one i might consider a distant second is the KFC Zinger burger.

    • McChicken burders

      • edited: fat fingers from eating chicken burgers at all these places to work out who has the best chicken burgers of the lot!

Costco chicken burgers are decent for $7.

Im sure others are comparing $18 burgers from FiveGuys or the like. (dont forget this is OzBargain, not Gourmet Burger reviews!)

    • +2

Each to their own but I disagree and find them flavourless :(.

  • +1

I miss the old Hungry Jacks.

    • +1

good days, me and the boys could walk in with $15 collectively and eat till our stomachs are full

      • +1

Remember when you could get whoppers for a gold coin? Pepperidge farm remembers

  • +3

Two junior whoppers and chips for $8.95 is the only good deal

    • +1

two original whoppers and chips for $9 would be a better deal. - old HJs

      • +1

        Gotta have chips 🍟…

    • +1

Yep happy the Whopper Jr deal is back. Went missing from the last vouchers.

    • Agree, although I swear this was $5.95 a couple of years ago…

    • +1

I remember when they were like $4.95 for that, then applied 20% staff discount to like $4.

That was only 4 years ago…

  • +4

No more 2x bacon deluxe or whoppers with cheese for < $10 :(

    • +4

2x Bacon Deluxe for $6.95… those were the days. I remember claiming it from Woolies/Coles receipts too. Hasn't even been 5 years since they were last at that price. They're noticeably smaller these days too, sadly.

      • +3

They really are getting smaller too..
And yes I remember $5.95 in highschool and $6.95 just a few years ago..
Not even on the list anymore :(

    • +1

Yes! was just thinking the same thing, been missing bacon deluxe :(
