The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.

    1040pm WA time….

    • Getting the same in NSW, but also says on the right "Qualifying offers: Amazon GC promotion" https://i.imgur.com/HS6t6qz.png

      Same for you?

Edit: Got the "Benefit Confirmation for your Order" email.

    • +5

There is an apply code button on the linked page. Click on that to enroll yourself. Then just checkout without coupon code.

      • Thanks but usually you should be able to apply coupon ocde. This is confusing. my impression is first 2000 gone

        • If you click the Apply Code button on the offer page, then you don't need to enter the code on the checkout screen (it'll say "Qualifying offers" under the total price). It's confusing, but it's a one or the other thing - either click Apply Code or enter the code manually.

Thanks Op. gotta fund those space rockets…🚀

  • +2

Tapped and bought one ,waiting confirmation now
Received this 7 mins after order
"Benefit Confirmation for your Order "

  • +3

Yes I can finally use my $100 Coles Prepaid Mastercard

  • +5

Is this even worth it though, 4.76% off? Only because I have a prepaid MC.

    • +2

And restricted to items sold by Amazon AU, I'm wondering the same…

      • +3

Well, if its any consolation, prime day is in 2 weeks, most of that stuff is shipped and sold by Amazon.

        • Aye, but there are seemingly enough gift card promos going around, and often better. I think I'm happy with those, esp CR's 10%-off offers lately.

          • +1

@Jeffie: Also won't be able to get cashback (likely will be upsized cashback on all categories as usual from CR and SB during Prime Day) if using the promo credit.

Still bought it anyway with Coles Gift MC. Just bought another one of these (with S&S) with the credit.

      • +1

And restricted to items sold by Amazon AU

Yeah this is the worst part of the promo credit. But hey can always buy toilet paper or paper towels ffs.

  • Can U buy gift card with gift card credit?

    • -1

      No

    • Yes. You can buy most other stores, eg Home (JB, Good Guys). You cannot buy Amazon gift cards with Amazon gift card balance.

  • +7

Cant believe it, only saving 5% and you guys are all over this deal

Bought 1 on each account! LOL

    • Well if we combined the one from yesterday along with $250 worth of gift cards then that's $15 (1 lettuce) which makes the shield $233.

      • Which deal from yesterday? $5 Shopback one expired yesterday itself.

  • I got the same deal with shop back today as a promo. Spend $100 on GC and get $5 bonus Cashback. I bought $400 of Amazon cards and got $8 regular Cashback + the $5 bonus Cashback for a total of $13 Cashback.

  • -1

    Wasn't it $10 last year

  • +2

There is no cashback if using credit

  • Can you use gift cards to buy the gift card?

    • "Your A$XX.00 gift card balance can't be applied to orders that contain Amazon.com.au gift cards."

  • Still worked as it now.

  • +4

These ones are kind of annoying

After you press apply and then go to the buy the gift card to enter the code. It says promo cannot be applied but at times it has actually already applied.

Would be good if they could indicate if it has been accepted or not or alert message like this code has already been used etc

Issue has been there for years

    • If u go back in again to press the apply code, It says you are already enrolled

      • Still says “The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.” hmm

        • He's talking about here where it says "Apply code" at the bottom (linked to in the deal).

    • Pretty sure it's an either or, click the button OR use the code. I'll find out soon enough!

UPDATE: Benefit confirmed! So yeah, it's an either or.

      • +2

Ya but they could of wrote you have already applied this code rather than this promo code can't be applied to.yiir purchase

        • So am I too assume I already have this even with the error? Lol

        • Agreed, I was wondering for a minute if I'd still get the promo credit if I proceeded with the purchase.

      • Does it mean you'll get the $5 credit just by clicking the button, without buying the GC?

        • Still gotta buy the gift card…

    • When you check out, the promotion is written in a single line on the RHS of the checkout page.

  • +1

Will the code stop working once limit is reached?

Similar deal last time and got nothing

  • Tue 28/6 @ 8:15am. Purchased and promo credit received.

    • +2

Unlimited bonuses. They just say 2000 to give the aura of exclusivity

  • gift card or e giftcard?

how come i got this message "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."

    • +2

      It has been answered above

    • See reply to the first comment on this thread

  • still available. just bought it

  • +4

The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.

  • Hm…..still haven't received the confirmation email yet.

Is it because I chose a physical card?

  • +1

me: jeez $5 … im never going to spend that

also me: spends $100 on 5 impulse buys within obligatory 9am morning toilet break ah

  • I got the credit as at 9:06am

  • Got it as of 9:20

  • +7

Appear to be regular offers from cashback operators to buy gift cards, which often provide better value e.g. yesterday's ShopBack offer of $5 bonus cashback on $100+ gift card purchase. Bought Amazon $100 from that promo using discounted Coles prepaid Mastercard, earned $5 bonus cashback + $2 regular cashback (regular 2% cashback on Amazon gift cards). If I purchase this offer directly from Amazon means $5 bonus has to be spent at Amazon and provided as promo credit, which may invalidate a future cashback claim if used on relevant purchase. Cashback means I'll get $7 cash back to use anywhere on anything, without any potential impact on subsequent cashback eligibility. The difference isn't earth shattering - but unless looking at big purchase and/or wanting to grab any offers to build up large Amazon credit for Prime day sale I'd be targeting cashback gift card offers rather than this offer. YMMV

    • +1

Exactly the logic why after the first excitement and activating the offer I decided to not make use of it.

  • Got a benefits confirmation at 09:36

  • Got a confirmation at 9:55 am

  • Enrolled via the 'Apply Code' not the Promo Code upon checkout ->

You have already enroled for this promotion, start shopping to use it

  • all gone?
    i have clicked apply code
    still show up "
The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."

    • +1

Did you read the first comment and replies to that?

      • +1

they did not…. TLDR now getting schooled by you :)

  • +1

Purchased at 10:42 and received. Thanks

  • -3

if you go back to first page "You have already enroled for this promotion, start shopping to use it"
Already added to Cart but cannot checkout with CODE

  • i received the benefits confirmation and in the email it says $5 has been applied automatically, but when I go to Balance history in the gift card section, it cannot see $5 applied.
    anyone has the same issue?

    • Yup, I'm still waiting for the credit too, however, the T&C mentioned that it could take up to 2days to appear

    • +7

It is not a gift card so it won't be on gift card section.
That's a credit which will be automatically applied when you place an order from Amazon AU.

      • ah yes, I see it now! Thanks for clarifying that

  • Confirming at 2:23 pm.

  • Waiting on benefits confirmation. Received GC but no other email

    • I put my order in around the same time as you. Got confirmation 1 minute after receiving my gift card

      • Edit: came in right then

  • +1

    Still working.

  • Enrolled got confirmation for $5 even with no code applied at check out

    This offer is messy

    • Yeah, it's a bit weird, depending on what device/browser or even the Amazon app. On the gift card page it has an Apply Code button, tried that. I entered the code, wouldn't accept it. Nor, did it give me any indication that I would get the bonus $5.

I gave up on the app and just used a browser on my phone instead that clearly showed at the checkout that I was eligible for a gift card promotion, so I went ahead with the purchase, and boom, got the $100 gift card email, followed by the email saying as a benefit of that order I have $5 promotional credit added to my account for my next purchase. Both emails arrived within minutes.

      All good. Eventually!

As long as you take a screenshot of the checkout and it shows you're eligible for the promotion somewhere, you should get it, and if not, just contact customer service and explain the situation, they'll pop the $5 onto your account (i've done it before).

  • 2000? Lol what a bluff.

  • Did anyone else get a call from 02 7228 1103 claiming to be Amazon, only to be asked if you’ve purchased a $100 gift card today?

    • +2

Got called twice by Amazon a year ago from (02) 7228 1102 checking up on Amazon gift card purchases I was making ahead of last year's Prime day deals. I'd bought a stack of discounted Coles pre-paid gift cards and used them to buy a heap of Amazon gift cards. Sounds legit.

      • Thanks, I was a bit skeptical, as the call was over in 30 seconds and the other person on the call didn't quite explain why he was calling. But it sounds legit :)

    • I don't think Amazon will call you ;)

  • -1

promo code doesnt work anymore, looks like its finished

  • I just sent a $100 gift to… myself.

  • Worked perfect, ready for prime day 👍

  • Got the confirmation for the credit when my physical gift card got posted today. Cheers OP!

  • +1

    Still Works!
