IMHO bit outdated and not good value for money at this price (perhaps if it was $299 then maybe), the satellites are only dual band AC1200, not ideal if you are planning to link them wirelessly. Something like the TP-Link M9 (Tri-band AC2200) which sells for around the same price IMHO is a better buy.

    • Thanks for suggestion mate. I will have to look for deal on AC2200

      • No doubt showing my ignorance but if most of us have a max 100Mbps (or even more likely, 50), does it matter that the Google Nest Wifi is only AC1200 (I though the second generation Nest Wifi was 2200 vs 1200 for Google Wifi)?

I was eyeing the Amazon Eero vs its Eero 6 or Pro versions and I am wondering if there's any point getting the high speed capable models when in Australia we're all likely to be stuck on current speeds for a few more years.

Check out Eero Mesh from Amazon currently $292. OfficeWorks $287. Very much functionally lineball with the Google Mesh, but better value.

Here's a useful comparison, probably the biggest difference is that each Google access point also doubles as a smart speaker

Full disclosure : I have the eero mesh 3-pack in a Google ecosystem and I'm totally happy with it. I can also recommend their tech support team, who were excellent in helping resolve a really unusual interference problem.
