  • Best bet is to go through the gaming laptop category and see which ones fit your criteria.

This looks like a beast of a laptop, but might need to check the weight if your mum's gonna be carrying it around.

  • What's the RTX GPU requirement for?

    • This is what the lecturer advised her.

'With the Graphics, I prefer anything Geforce RTX2060 & above (Geforce RTX3060) by far is the one that can handle the heavy software these days but clearly expensive.

Archicad does not need something that is way too powerful but it will definitely help if you have all the advanced specs.

A laptop again is something that will double the price of a Desktop regardless of the specs, no matter what, I will always make sure it is a Gaming Laptop or Desktop if you want it to last for many years to come.'

      • The RTX 2060 is nowadays obsolete and is replaced by the RTX 3050. So basically any laptop with RTX3050 will meet that requirement.

If you have Lenovo education store access, this is the cheapest laptop with an 8-core Ryzen7 and RTX 3060 for $1299.

This deal ends today. Note that the laptop is pretty heavy, @ 2.25 KG as it is a mostly plastic construction

Otherwise I recommend looking at the ASUS Vivobook Pro M3500QC with OLED display. This is much lighter than the IdeaPad Gaming at 1.65kg, but it costs a lot more.
