Kogan Bluetooth & 2.4GHz Dual Mode Wireless Keyboard Space Grey $14.99 + Delivery (Free for Kogan First) @ Kogan

400

It's not an MX Keys but at a fraction of the price it's probably worth a shot. It does have the advantage of not being full-size and still sporting a numpad, so it should fit into a bag or briefcase nicely. Connects up to three devices, 1x with the 2.4GHz dongle and 2x Bluetooth.

  • Please don't tag it as MX Keys, if your deal has nothing to do with MX keys. 58 people just got notifications about a MX keys deal being posted.

      LOL

      • 2nd that lol. Lol

    • -5

58 people got the wrong notification? The horror

  • Looks OK for the price, but alas I don't need it

I always go by the adage “if you buy cheap you buy twice”.

    • +17

Generally, but not always true. I have a desk fan I bought 20 years ago for $10 that is still going well, my fancy ass fan I bought that cost over $100 lasted 2 years…

      • +4

everything is made to be rebought not repaired these days.

    • +1

Buy twice because it's half the price? Win!

    • Poor man pays twice = Kogan purchaser buys twice.

    • You just cancelled the terms ‘discount’ and ‘vfm’

  • Thanks, great price, got one!

Member from 2017 and still recommending logan… hmm run away people.
Doesnt matter how cheap, it will go to the bin.

    • +2

Last time I commented on something for being e-waste I got sternly told it doesn’t matter

      • +4

Yeah but that was from Con the Fruiterer.

        • +2

I loved that skit. Couldn't do that now days as the fun police would have them locked up for racism or something they make up.

Couple la days doesn't matter. Hahaha

    • Obviously they didn't get a bad rep for nothing and this particular keyboard seems like cheap rubbish, but there are plenty of Kogan products out there working just fine. No point writing off everything by default.

    • +6

Meh. I’ve tried posting quality items before that were genuinely a good deal and been soundly chastised because they weren’t cheap enough. The bottom line is: “The deal is in the eye of the bargain holder.”

  • If only it didn't have the numpad.

      Have an angle grinder around?

      • Plasma cutter is more fun.

  • it's probably worth a shot.

Yeah, if your goal is to help fill a landfill.

  • +1

This one is similar but $3 cheaper?

    • It's got a phone holder & tablet stand too and the context right mouse key.

I have been keen to pick a MX keys KB for PC for awhile.
I grabbed this one from office works and so far it's been great.

    https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/j-burrows-…

I run it for my WFH pc over wireless and use it via Bluetooth to use on my gaming pc.
I don't game on it but it's great for typing.

    • It's not an mx keys keyboard tho?

Edit: clearly I don't know what mx keys are, I thought it meant mechanical. What are scissor switches?

      • +2

Scissor switches are a rubber dome underneath that is the electrical actuator, and the key top is held up by two thin, square frames that look like a pair of scissors when viewed from the side. When you press on the key the scissor action keeps the key top stable as it depresses the dome to make the electrical connection. Its lightweight low profile makes it ideal for certain keyboards, notably laptops. Wikipedia has a good description with pictures. Scroll to and expand the Types section.

        • Thank, yes I read up, realised these are just like your run of the mill laptop keyboard (in most cases)

      • Logitech MX Keys is a keyboard. You're probably thinking of Cherry MX switches.

        • Yeah, I was. Why would 2 different companies use mx do describe something in the same market. Painful

          • +2

@Jackson: I'm sure it crossed Logitech's mind that MX is loosely connected with quality keyboards so they were happy to let people make that association.

  • No it's not bu for $60 it's pretty good.

Erm…you posted a deal yourself for a Kogan product only two years ago. This was well after 2017 when I joined OzB (as you seemed to enjoy pointing out above). Care to elucidate your opinion further?

  • Have long time ago decided to never be ripped off by Kogan again, every single purchase (19" TV 2007, GPS 2008) both 13 months though the GPS started playing up within a few days of warranty expiration …. NEVER again as they denied any help and were like a brick wall.

    • Life is like a box of chocolates.

      • Kogan chocolates come out of date with that white crud that chocolate sometimes develops and a denial that anything is wrong

Edit: Disclaimer. I didn't buy this nor op's

  • Only the space key is grey?

  • I brought their mechanical keyboard 2 years ago and I'm still using it. Don't know why other people are complaining.
