  • So the $5 voucher can't be used after 31/12/2022?

    • Correct.

    • It's Prime day next week, the $5 will be well and truly be gone by December.

    • it's automatically applied when you do an order that ships from amazon

  • +5

This is only 6.67% and people jumping it over it…

Tiny incentive from Amazon, next time probably even less if anything once they got the monopoly

I welcome the post and deals but shouldn't be overjoyed. Recently they give 5% for gift card as well as this

    • +4

I've never understood why these deals rate so highly. Having 75 bucks invested into Amazon, and the stuffing around buying/redeeming is not worth it for me.

      • +12

in my case, i KNOW for sure I will be spending at least $75 over the next few months, as I buy nappies and toilet paper from Amazon, so by using this, I am saving $5 on those purchases. It's not a lot, but "an ocean is filled drop by drop". If i wasn't sure i was going to be spending those $75, then i definitely wouldn't get this.

        • +1

          Also the same.
Working shift work, I can come home to supplies waiting for me on my doorstep.
No longer minimum $30 (or is it $50 ) spend at Coles or Woolies for click and collect and no expensive delivery from C or W.
The $5 will be easy spent, and likewise the $75 too

      • +1

When you consider savings on regular household items that Colesworth charge you 75% or even higher like nappies etc. People are gearing up for Prime Day.

      • If people use the credit within one or two months. It's the great investment. I can't think of any investment that would return 6.67% within 2 months and low risk.

    • It's for Prime members with Prime day next week….. While I doubt there will be any savings on major items, but it's typically a good time to pick up groceries and everyday items.

    • +1

Time to return your Ozbargain badge

    • Small percentages add up over time, same thing with cashrewards/shopback. I know I'll definitely spend money with Amazon so to me it's a no brainer.

    • +4

      Mostly cause tightarse posted.

He brings in 100s of votes more compared to others due to subscribers

    • +1

It's just 5 dollars and people who make six digits per year, go for this hysterically. Lol.

  • Is it one credit per member ?

  • Can't get it to work

  • my second account said not working anymore

  • +6

Just remember you wont get cashback if you use the amazon credit

    • +2

I only use the Amazon credit on groceries or food, where theres no cash back anyway
      But good reminder

  • Confirm what others have said: Clicked apply code - paid $75 and had 'qualifying promotion $5 credit' under the buy button on step 3 of payment.

  • +1

    ALL GOOD …
Applied code and received the emails from Amazon with confirmations.
$5.00 promo credit advice came back within 15 minutes later.
    GREAT STUFF TA.
    Thanks again

  • now we are $5 readier for prime day..

  • +2

Claimed 10mins ago :) Still working fine, cheers TA

  • Can't get it to work. Unfortunate.

    • Works for me now. If you apply the code once, you don't need to apply it again. It's applied to your account even if your cart changes.

  • Worked for me 10 mins ago. Took 10 minutes for email confirmation.

  • Worked for me after clicking apply coupon. Emails came within 5 minutes, thanks TA!

  • Wonder if TA is also in some kinda collaborative capacity with Amazon to decide on tailored deals for ozbargain? He's been doing an amazing job with cashrewards. I've gone to him on any cash back issue I might have and it's usually resolved.

  • didnt have any confirmation at checkout - added code at checkout, then the screen re-freshed but didnt indicate yes, you are eligible or code redeemed etc.
got a confirmation email after though… though a mob like amazon could make this process a little more straight forward

    • Applied to my account as at 4:10pm so still working so far

      • yes as per my post - it does work just thought it would be a LITTLE more obvious that the code definitely still applied especially if it's a limited redemption code.

  • +2

It is zero stuffing around to do this.
You put in your own email address and click the link your receive in the email which automatically adds the credit to your account. Easy peasy, the entire order and getting credit in account literally took 60 seconds.

  • Consumerism at its finest.. Bought one haha

  • I bought $75 e-gift card and have not received the promotion bonus - does it need to purchase a physical gift card to be qualified?

    • +1

E-gift card is fine, I bought one and got the $5 bonus about 15 mins later.

      • Can you view the $5 promotional credit in the account?

        • No. You can see it when you try to buy a Prime item, with option to apply it. You also get an email confirmation of receiving the $5

        • Yeah, you should see the $5 promo credit at the checkout when you buy something shipped and sold by Amazon AU.

          • @Tink: Bought a egift card on 4/7 and still can't find the $5 bonus. I guess just have to wait another day and then ask Amazon about it.

            • @t25: Bummer, hope you receive it soon

  • Clicked on apply code on the landing page. Ordered & received egiftcard at 2:47am (couldn't apply the code in checkout because already clicked on the button). Still no subsequent email about the $5 promo credit. Normally I get it instantly. Will wait another day before inquiring as it says

Your promotional credit will be automatically applied to your account used to make the purchase within two (2) business days after your order is shipped (for physical gift cards) or within two (2) business days after the order is completed (for electronic gift cards)

    • i ordered early morning yesterday, still havent received the $5 promo credit yet :(

  • Sorry a bit thick this morning, is this the correct step?
    1. Click apply code now
    2. Purchase $75 Amazon gift card (using the custom value)
    3. Pay for $75 now
And in the future a $5 credit will be applied?

I suspect we cannot claim the $5 now?

  • Just followed the steps in OP and got confirmation within the minute.

Thanks for purchasing $75 or more of Amazon.com.au Gift Cards. In accordance with the promotional terms, we have now automatically applied a $5 promotional credit to your account which can be used on eligible items shipped and sold by Amazon AU.

  • Also just followed the steps in OP by clicking the apply code and purchasing a $75 gift card. The $75 gift card arrived within minutes of the purchase followed by the $5 benefit promo credit one minute later (email below)

SUBJECT: Benefit Confirmation for your Order XXXX

Thank you for purchasing from Amazon.com.au.

Your recent order XXXX entitles you to a promotional credit which we have added to your account. This credit can be applied to your next qualifying purchase.

Promotion details: Additional information on this offer can be found here.

Thanks for purchasing $75 or more of Amazon.com.au Gift Cards. In accordance with the promotional terms, we have now automatically applied a $5 promotional credit to your account which can be used on eligible items shipped and sold by Amazon AU. The promotional credit must be used by 31 December 2022. This offer is subject to Terms and Conditions.

  • I still haven't received my $75 voucher, shouldn't it automatically go into my Amazon account under payment methods

    • Huh? No, it's an egift card.

      • All good, I had to resend it.. so now I got the $75 but where is the $5 bonus? Should they both come together so I have $80 in my account?

        • +1

It's promo credit, you can't see it until you go through the checkout process when you buy an Amazon AU supplied product. You can choose to untick it if you want cashback instead.

But if you got the confirmation email for the $5 credit, then you should be all good.

  • I never got a confirmation email saying I got credited with $5 but when I was buying something the other day it gave me a $5 discount.

  • +1

had an email confirmation about the $5 benefit but it's not showing up in my checkout on amazon. odd.

    • Me too.

      • i actually had it - not everything on prime qualifies, has to be eligible items shipped and sold by Amazon AU.

        • How does $5 look like? Added to the balance or shown separately? I tried some items shipped and sold by Amazon AU, on check out page I can see my gift card balance will be used, no $5

      • Me three. I made a purchase right afterwards and there was no check-box to remove any gc promo. Now I'm worried it auto applied the $5 and I lost my CR tracking.

I tried it on an item and no promo showing. Maybe it takes a while to process into Amazon after receiving the email?

  • Can this only be applied once? I already bought a 75 dollars GC and received the 5 dollars, but can I buy it again for another 5 dollars?

    • The first 10,000 Prime members

  • If you apply the $75 voucher + $5 credit how does cash rewards work?

Does it work well on the remaining balance left or the total inclusive of gift card?

    • Read the Cash Rewards T&Cs for Amazon AU, or any TA CR deal for Amazon AU.

      • Thanks Mr Kimble

  • I have clicked apply code, but nothing shows up in the promo code section when I am checking out.. do I need to further apply something or it will detect automatically?

    • 13,000 Ozbargain clicks. Has this deal not expired?

      • +2

There are unlimited redemptions. The fake number is to give the aura of exclusivity

        • Correct. It's still working as of 5 mins ago.

  • I keep getting an error that the promotions code can’t be applied to my purchase… using iPhone app. Any ideas or have I entered it in wrong spot during check out.

    • +1

look at right hand side under order total. does it say qualifying offer: Prime GC promotion?

      • Edit: silly me. Read instructions again and I had already clicked apply code hence didn’t need to type it in upon checkout. Hopefully it all works!

        Update: benefit confirmation received.

  • +1

Thanks mine came in almost immediately. Clicked "Apply Code" from the landing page and all worked out. On the mobile app.

  • Hi all. Does the promo credit get refunded if you cancel an order (ie before it ships) ? Seems not from some googling I've done. ??

    • In the past it has been fine, but I haven't done it recently.

The terms at the bottom specifically says that promo credit is forfeited if you do a return, but says nothing about cancellations.

I would say it should be OK, worst case you get on customer service and they'll most likely fix it up for you.

      • Thanks. Item has shipped now. Not a big drama. Good to know. Will bear in mind for next time.

  • I just bought this and I got $5 voucher in my account. Thanks OP!

  • I saw the words something like "GC promotion" in my checkout but I don't see the $5 credit when I view my gift card balance (currently $75).
Am I missing something or what could I do to query this?

    • +1

The only way to see promo credit is during checkout and it is only applied to items sold by Amazon, under the payment section promo credit is shown as a discount and is separate from your GC balance/card.

  • Expired? Says cannot be applied to purchase 😩

    • Offer expires tonight and credit expires EOY.

What item? It only applies to certain items.

      • Amazon gift card, tried the $75 standard logo one, happy bday one

        • Contact Support I guess? They can manually add. Unless 10,000 people have claimed it already?

          • +1

@John Kimble: Just bought GC and $5 appeared on checkout. 5min from start to finish. Easy peasy

            • @lily: On the right hand side under order total I can see it listed, but under where you enter the code it says

"The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase".

              Did you get that?

              • @Ughhh: I went through the promo landing page for gift cards and clicked on the "apply code" yellow button. I then chose to purchase the $75 GC without needing to enter the actual code.

  • -2

If I use the GC to pay for a kindle will I get cashback?

  • +3

Just letting anyone out there who are interested to buy this deal. This deal still worked at 2pm today 13/07/22 when I bought it.

You apply the code at the landing page link on this post. Then the credit is sent to you after you finalise the purchase, not during, meaning you pay $75 upfront.

    • how long did it take for you to receive said 5$ credit?

  • Just letting anyone out there who are interested to buy this deal. This deal still worked at 6.30pm today 13/07/22 when I bought it.

I got the credit within 20mins
