Digital copies of Jason Aaron's Thor run from 2011-2017. Each volume is ~400 pages, so at $11 ea this is definitely good value for money. Physical editions are ~$60-$70, so definitely cheaper to purchase this way. I believe these volumes are usually ~$35 for the digital editions however they aren't accessible on CamelCamelCamel so I could be wrong.

$44 total for ~1700 pages of Thor comics if you stick with Vols 1-4.

Also available Vol. 5 - $34.09 @ Kindle Store - 4.45 stars @ GoodReads - 486 pgs

Volume 1 is an absolute killer and what originally got me into reading comics. I believe some of the later volumes are relevant to the recent Thor Love and Thunder movie but I haven't read them so can't confirm?

These must be read through the Kindle app (or Comixology app?), so this is probably only worth it if you have an iPad or another device with a decent size screen to read off. Definitely possible to read on a phone, but

  • They used to go on sale for $4-5 but that was before the 'new and improved' comixology screwed everything up. These days sales aren't are good and I've bought barely any comics.

Do you have details to back this up? I couldn't find any way to view price history but I'm a little skeptical that they would ever drop that low?

Also, I'm assuming you are aware that these are the complete collections volumes, NOT individual trade volumes (which have a regular price of $11 ea and are ~120 pages each).

EDIT: You could be right tbh. This US price tracker shows their regular price at $15 USD on Amazon US. Not sure what they're normally at on Aus Kindle store though.

I own over 9K comics on Comixology, I just know the prices of this stuff.

But yeah I missed these have 18 issues. So it's about the same value. Usually the price for 6 issues in sale is $4, so for 3x the value, $11 is about the same.

And also, sometimes stuff goes on sale in the US store not the AU store, it's very inconsistent. Comixology merging with Amazon proper only happened about 4 months ago, so the camels wont help much as previously sales were through a completely different app.

          gold…

        • How many have you read?

          • @ihbh: Most of them. Although I've bought a heap which I have read in physical copies but wanted them digitally.

I just read them over my lunch break at work, about 4 issues a break 5 days a week. Over 12 years of doing this, it's very doable.

        • I can't sign up to Comixology. How did you do it? I just assumed you can't get Comixology in Australia.

          • @friendly-gandu: I originally signed up when Comixology wasn't part of Amazon, so I think I was grandfathered in. But it does allow me to use a single app to read my comics from physical Marvel codes (I buy them off a guy I know for $1.50 an issue), books bought on Comixology (which is now Amazon US Kindle books) and more recent comics I've bought on Amazon AU kindle store.

I'm surprised they wont let you onto the Comixology app these days as it's simply just a Kindle storefront with a slightly better reader for comics. Have you tried in the last couple of months since the change over?
