  • Is anyone else still waiting for the sim??

    • No sim yet here either

      • Mine never arrived. They gave me a $1500 credit.

  • How much was your first bill? Was is pro rated??

    • I was charged $99

My service was activated on 9/7, first invoice generated was for period 22/7/22 to 21/8/22.

      • +1

That means, you were not billed for 9/7 to 21/7.

        So
        1st invoice for 22/7 to 21/8
        2nd invoice for 22/8 to 21/9
        3rd invoice for 22/9 to 21/10

90 days would be completed on 9/10 before 4th month's invoice is generated on 21/10. So you have 12 days to cancel your service or receive bonus points before cancelling your service to avoid 4th invoice

Ironically my service was activated on 20/7 and my 1st invoice was generated on 21st July for 21/7 to 20/8, so no luck for me to avoid 4th invoice without getting bonus points

        • In theory yes that should be what will happen (Optus give me the bonus points on 9/10 or shortly thereafter). We'll see what happens in October :)

  • Does anyone know if you're meant to earn some FF points each month? (e.g. 10 points per $1 spent).

I haven't seen any come through and just want to check it's connected in time for the bonus 60k…

1 off 60k points at the end of 3 months.

  • Optus rep in chat said I can pay my 3rd month out now and I’ll be awarded the points. Hoping this is true, I want to churn back to Telstra through JB for a gift card offer for the new iPhone

    • I also just spoke to someone in chat and they were pretty adamant that even if I pay the bill charges in advance (3rd month) the bonus points will be credited only after completing the 3 months. Were you going to pay out your 3rd month?

They gave me this link when I asked them how I could pay in advance

Not sure, I paid my $99 anyway. That’s 3 payments I’ve made now. Waiting for the portal to refresh an invoice and register my payment on my account. Then we’ll see.

Either way, I’m happy to wait now since I’ve pulled the plug on my Telstra JB gift card deal

        • Let us know how it goes. I'm up to the 3rd payment as well (had the 2nd one get deducted beginning of this week). If you get the bonus points I'll do the same.

        • Any update?

          • +1

@Banana: Nah, nothing yet. Obviously have to wait out the 3 months regardless

  • Wow people are almost due their points and I'm still waiting on my sim. Optus are awesome.

  • does anyone remember part of the $99 offer being 10 points per dollar spent for first 3 months? meaning an additional 2,970 (3 months) or 3,670 (4 months) points for the $99 p/m spend? i can't find it anywhere now but am certain that was part of the sign up deal.

    • Nope
Just one off 60k bonus at the end of 3 months

  • They started a similar deal again early this month, I signed up my wife for this offer.
    Sim delivered on 5th Sept
    Service activated on 5th Sept
Invoice was generated on 5th Sept
Payment was charged on 5th Sept

So no unbilled days or fixed payment date(my payment date is 21st of every month)

Looks like they changed the rule to charge from the date of service

    • Likewise in my experience.

    • So impossible to avoid 4th month payment with out getting points
