Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 128GB $1099 on $69 12 Month Plan @ JB Hi-Fi

210

Discovered this deal in the store at Rundle Mall: https://postimg.cc/CZ0LJSZB

Some stores are offering this deal on 256 GB variant too.

Edit:

Even though it says not in conjunction with any other offer, if you have a trade in coupon ($500) and check if it can work online for S22 Ultra series: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-galaxy-s22-ultra-…
(may be a glitch), then you could get 128GB for $599 (minus the trade in value of ur old phone).
You will have to go in-store to sign up for $69/month with Telstra.

Edit:
It says when you switch your number to Telstra.
Excludes current Telstra, Belong, Boost services.

    @Cheapoh
You need to explain how this works in your post.
The link shows a price of $1849 and says you can apply the $500 voucher.
    $1849 - $500 = $1349
How are you getting the extra $750 off and getting the price down to $599 ?

    • So from my understanding some jbhifi stores are letting you stack the $500 trade in coupon with the port in offer, which is $750 off s22 ultra for signing up to their 12 month $69/m telstra plan.

I've been turned down both stores I asked if I could do this. I don't understand why some stores are happy to do this, while others wont.

  • Do all trade ins get a $500 voucher?

    • Big if true

  • OP, can you give more detail on what you said when you called up the JBHIFI?

    • +1

I asked them will they accept trade in coupons with the current $750 off device price on $69 12 month plan. They refused saying it is only for S22 & Z Flip & Fold. Even the trade in coupon mentions the same thing. I checked on JBs website and the coupon worked, it took $500 off the price. I called up store again to inform trade in coupon works with S22 Ultra and they said they will accept it.
Another user has also confirmed he got same deal for 256 GB variant. Worth a try.

      • Which store was this ?

  • I noticed this ad in todays paper from Hardly Normal….they're doing a trade-in deal on Samsung's as well - https://i.imgur.com/XcotZpF.jpg

I'm not sure how it compares to the JB Hi-Fi deal posted yesterday as I managed to grab a S22 Ultra from it.

"$1000 off any Samsung Galaxy S22"

    • +1

That's a 24 month plan, this is 12 month plan and $750 discount.

      • +1

Hmm much better value then. 24 mths+ is bad.

  • so is this port-in only or can i get a new number and still have this discount

    • It was port in for me.

  • Does the invoice comes up as $1849 or $1099?

I'm going to go down to my local JB today and see what they will honour with this deal. I'll post my findings 🤓.

    • Keen to hear if it works

Just finished my enquiry. The customer service rep had a good check about stacking the $500 trade-in bonus with the $750/$1000 (12mth/24mth) Telstra deal. His screen said no stacking under the $1000 Telstra deal conditions but he did say that it's not so clear cut and that he would rather say no out of caution. He clarified that there is no real way of knowing until after you have signed the contract at the cash register and then try to add on the trade-in bonus.

I'm interested in the 512GB. With the 24 month Telstra deal this would come down from $2149 to $1049 outright and then $69/month for 24 months. For me this would be a reduction of $11/month and an increase of 20GB/month (currently on Vodafone, this is my last month of my Note 9 handset payment with plan which is currently $80/month).

I just signed up this deal and stack with the trade in coupon in Sydney City JB Hi Fi, ultra 256gb cost $449 after all.

        • Thanks mate, I read the other comments saying the same thing. I called Airport West to confirm and then showed/told the rep at my local store and they ok'd it. Going ahead with the S22 Ultra 5G 512GB, trading in my Note 9 512GB.

Success!. $469 for S22 Ultra 512GB Black. 24 month contract $69/month 100GB data, unlimited calls, SMS & MMS. Bonus info for anyone who wasn't aware like myself; Telstra can't move/change your plan even once it ends as long as you stay on that plan.

      Breakdown:

      RRP of $2149
      - $180 Note 9 trade-in
      -$500 bonus trade-in
      -$1000 promotion
      =$469

      @bananapretense

  • Just fot my info…what happens if you didn't send your traded in phone back to jb?

  • Hi OP, would you mind showing a picture of your receipt? It'll be great help. Thanks

  • Also has anyone managed to combine the trade in offer with the sim 12 month offer plus price matching in vic. If so which store was it in vic as can't seem to find one that will do it

    • +1

      Airport west

      • Could be only this store. Tried chaddy and holmesglen, they said no

        • I'm currently going through sign-up/purchase at Knox.

          • @Bezzey: Let us know how it goes at Knox.

            • @bananapretense: Will do. Just about to get the $1000 voucher. Already received the $180+$500 trade-in vouchers via email for my Note 9.

              • @Bezzey: So you are doing the 24 months then…. the mobile, you got $180+$500+$1000 off the mobile, which one?

                • @affinity: $469 for S22 Ultra 512GB Black. 24 month contract $69/month 100GB data, unlimited calls, SMS & MMS.

                  Breakdown:

                  RRP of $2149
                  - $180 Note 9 trade-in
                  -$500 bonus trade-in
                  -$1000 promotion
                  =$469

                  • @Bezzey: Okay, 24 months is too long for many, even 12 months can be a problem too unless there is a good enough deal overall.

Have you tried to get $20 port in credit through Telstra chat? Perhaps for 24 months, worth a try; I've gotten it on a 12 month plan, but not without persistence, whilst others have gotten it on their first try.

                    • @affinity: That's my next step, I might wait until tomorrow and once my Telstra sim is active to ensure the live chat rep can see my fully active service to avoid any issues. My Vodafone service is strangely still active. JB Hi-Fi rep was surprised and said possibly it will deactivate once my Vodafone billing period finishes. I haven't inserted my Telstra sim yet so I'm thinking once that connects to the network it will deactivate my Vodafone sim.

                    • @affinity: I jumped on live chat last night and asked for port-in credit. Immediate reply was 'yes I can help you with $20 port-in credit for 12 months'.

                      • @Bezzey: I was knocked back first go, and just got offered $10 off on my second go. I think I will stick with that.

                        • +1

@bananapretense: I got my first bill during the week which was the full $69. I went onto live chat to ask why my bill wasn't discounted and the rep said that the $20 is no longer available but they could do $10 and asked me what I would like to do. I said I would like to stick with what I was originally offered and agreed on ($20 monthly discount for 12 months). They responded saying they could do a manual adjustment for this month and would have to consult with the original rep that offered me the $20.

        • Went back to chaddy for other purpose and talk different guy and he says why not. So i am doing it at the moment

          • @Svky: So, how did you go? And whom was the sales person?

You did the 12 month deal?

            • @affinity: Yes. All good. Kevin was helping me and the process was very smooth.

        • I was knocked back at Chadstone and Holmesglen too today, so I went to Knox and they did it.
I got an S22 Ultra 128GB for $419 after trade in.

      • [Trade-In] Coupon offer not available at JB Hi-Fi Airport located stores.

        But okay at Airport West?

      • +1

Thanks got both the trade in and sim discounts on a new number 12 month contract but didn't price match.

Found out that you just get a barcode for the trade in for them to scan.
Next time will be going in to just price match and then do sim plan and when pay will let them know these are just vouchers that way I can get it even cheaper.

  • Any idea if it works for $2 new optus sim thanks

  • are you able to cancel early?

  • +1

I was able to stack Telstra 12 months $69 plan - $750 off + $500 trade in bonus at JB Hifi Werribee Plaza for s22 ultra, so effectively paid $599

    • 128gb or 256gb model or it didn't really matter they would have done both?, umm maybe worth the trip to Werribee only 30 minutes away, do you remember who you did the deal through I mean sales person? Usually on invoice,. Cheers

      • Nah, name is not in the invoice ! But I remember it was Taylor. By the way, he did check with his team lead to see if this can be stacked. Taylor was a really nice young man to deal with. I got the 128 GB version; but as you said the size or colour shouldn't matter !

  • Is it easy to sign up to this with a new number (ie. a brand new Telstra customer)

And then once complete, transfer an exisiting pre paid number from a different provider (Optus) to take over the number you signed up with ?

  • +1

Thanks for sharing the deal. Confirming what the OP stated works.

My advice is to go in store and ask rather than simply calling.

  • Did anyone successfully do this in WA? Tried in Belmont and the staff said the 2 gift cards are Samsung-exclusive so cannot stack.
Phoned a couple other places and doesnt seem to work either

  • Has anyone been able to get the $20 off per month for the Telstra Sim

    • I jumped on live chat last night and asked for port-in credit. Immediate reply was 'yes I can help you with $20 port-in credit for 12 months'.

      • uh ok, mine keep saying there is no credit to apply, I did mine on a new number

        • I did mine on a new number

That's probably why. As far as I'm aware, port-in means porting in from another carrier with an existing number.

  • Hey guys, is it possible to cancel the plan and pay the etc fee as soon as ive signed up? If yes , how much would that cost me?

    • Not too much just the term of the plan,.. $69 x 12 months and bonus there is no cancellation fees 👍🤣

  • can i just buy a used iphone 7 plus and trade it in, do they check whether it's working? do you send the phone to jb hifi store or somewhere else?

  • Just tried in Bendigo store and was told not 750 & 500 were not stackable…..

    • "the trade your old phone in now" link isn't working online. Just reads store hours

  • what case and screen protector are people getting for their S22 Ultra? I usually get the ringke fusion cases but I find that their drop protection is not that great. Maybe I'm leaning towards a otterbox symmetry case, don't know what screen protector would fit that case.
