You can you Gift Cards to pay for these

and You can use the $6 credit towards buying a new one too

    • Thanks for the info. Also, acccording to Amazon CS, it's limited to 1 credit per promo code, be careful not to buy the same gift card more than once

  • Which one has eBay?

  • +3

Yep used my $5 promo credit from before (the $75 GC) to get Netflix and paid rest using GC.

    • +1

You should consider switching your existing account into a Netflix Turkey. The savings are pretty big, considerably higher than getting discounted Netflix Australia GCs.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/706375

      • Can you login Netflix turkey on smart tv? Or is it only used on a computer ?

        • +1

You can log in to any device, anywhere in the world. You just need to trick Netflix the one time to think you are in Turkey for billing purposes. Everything else is the same as what you currently get but significantly cheaper.

          • @cute as duck: I used to do this on a few services but after having to validate household members etc I decided to just go legit.

            • +2

@jace88: It's easy on Netflix. You'd be silly not to.

  • any for airbnb?

  • Not saying promo has been successfully? Not sure if it will work?

    • I'm getting the same.

*Edit# I bit the bullet and proceeded. Worked fine.

      • Thanks, yes it worked fine for me too.

  • Does anybody know: if you've previously used the hack to get your Netflix set up through Turkey/India etc, can you still add these gift cards to your account without messing up the hack?

    • +1

No, your Netflix gift card must be in the same currency as your bill is charged. Netflix AU deals aren't useful if you've set up Netflix in Turkey/Argentina etc.

      • thanks for confirming daanish!

  • Be careful. You can only add the cards to google pay, apple pay and Samsung pay and the app used to get them is extremely buggy on android. It locked my google pay account trying to add it.

  • Can I convert the "Ultimate Home" to digital (Apple Pay) to use in store at JB Hifi?

  • Decent selection, thanks OP!

  • Cheers op,

Can we only get it once or can we do multiple purchases?

    • +1

Sounds like works ok on multiple purchases but for different GC according to previous comment

  • +1

Hi all, I just saw one review about these giftcards on Amazon when I clicked to buy the GC, Has anyone experienced this before?

Using hidden rules to deceive customers:
    1. the balance must cover the whole amount
    2. no other payment method can be used on the same translation
    * this 2 terms are not in the product description!

Here’s an example on how they cheat you:
    - $20 gift card with $22 item doesn’t work, because only one payment method is allowed
    - $20 and $18 item is okay. However, the $2 will never be able to spend because if no item is $2 - a profile for the gift card company

    • +2

Sounds like someone trying to use an Ultimate card online …

    • Yes. That's true. I have experienced this. And then the balance amount left on the card goes down the drain…

    • +4

      “Hidden rules”?

I don’t think it is hidden rules per se, I think it is instead the fact that no one really takes the time to explain how these gift cards work (as well as explaining how feasible it is to redeem every last cent from them).

What you need to keep in mind is that the Ultimate gift cards in this deal operate on the Visa card network, so these Ultimate gift cards are really just Visa cards that are restricted to the list of participating retailers on the Ultimate gift cards website.

      • If you use a Visa debit card at JB Hi-Fi to purchase a $22 item, but you only have $20 available on the Visa debit card, the transaction will decline due to insufficient funds. Obviously, the easiest way around that is to top up the Visa debit card’s balance and then try again.

      • If you use an Ultimate gift card at JB Hi-Fi to purchase a $22 item, but you only have $20 on the Ultimate gift card, the transaction will decline due to insufficient funds. Unfortunately, you cannot simply top up the balance of an Ultimate gift card, so it becomes more tricky to complete the purchase.

Depending on the retailer you want to spend money at, there may be ways around it (and let’s continue the example from above):

      In-Store

You can ask to do split payments, as long as the merchant allows this, and JB Hi-Fi (as an example) will allow this. You can pay $20 using the Ultimate gift card (which will reduce its balance to $0), and then $2 using another payment method (e.g. cash, card, Ultimate gift card, a JB Hi-Fi gift card).

Alternatively, you could purchase a $20 JB Hi-Fi gift card using your $20 Ultimate gift card, then use the $20 JB Hi-Fi gift card and $2 from another payment method (e.g. cash, card, Ultimate gift card, a JB Hi-Fi gift card) to pay for the $22 item.

      Online

The only option (and this is not possible at all merchants) is to use gift cards from the merchant in conjunction with one Ultimate gift card, but this has its limits. For example:

      • JB Hi-Fi allows you to redeem an unlimited number of gift cards in conjunction with one Ultimate gift card, but it will redeem the JB Hi-Fi gift cards first and then redeem any remainder using the Ultimate gift card. For example, if you get your hands on a $10 JB Hi-Fi gift card and try to use that in conjunction with the $20 Ultimate gift card to pay for the $22 item, $10 will be redeemed from the JB Hi-Fi gift card first, then $12 will be redeemed from the Ultimate gift card, leaving $8 on the Ultimate gift card (and really defeating the whole purpose of getting the JB Hi-Fi gift card in the first place).

      • The Good Guys is similar, except they only accept two The Good Guys gift cards in one online transaction (in conjunction with one Ultimate gift card).

If you end up going down the online route, you’ll need to keep in mind:

      • A small proportion of merchants make their gift cards available through the Ultimate gift card exchange.

      • Some merchants do not operate a gift card program.

      • Some merchants will not allow you purchase their own gift cards online using Ultimate gift cards (e.g. because they are sold via a third party, or their fraud detection systems won’t allow it, or they do not sell their gift cards on the same website as their regular website, etc).

      • Some merchants’ gift cards cannot be redeemed online.

      • Some merchants will enforce strict limits on the number of their own gift cards you can redeem online (e.g. 1, 2).

Can you see why it may be a good idea to think about how to redeem every last cent of gift cards (particularly Ultimate gift cards, TCN gift cards, Swap Celebration gift cards, etc) before actually attempting to purchase or redeem them?

      • For gift cards that can be redeemed in-store at JB Hi-Fi or The Good Guys or another larger retailer, it is fine, because it is straightforward to redeem multiple cards in one transaction in-store at these retailers, plus staff are probably used to customers wanting to redeem 81 Ultimate or TCN gift cards in one transaction.

      • However, trying to redeem small amounts online (e.g. JB Hi-Fi online, The Good Guys online) or at a retailer where the staff members generally don’t know how to do split payments (or don’t allow it at all) is an absolute nightmare!

      • I tried to use my 'Ultimate Thank you' card on Menulog but it didn't work even though they are listed.

        • +2

          When did you try?

Someone told me they used an Ultimate (Eats) gift card yesterday and it worked.

Menulog (and Deliveroo) haven't accepted Ultimate gift cards for months (until a few days ago), even though they have been listed as participating retailers. My guess is that their fraud detection systems kept on rejecting Ultimate gift cards, because they're prepaid gift cards, which does not support 3-D Secure.

Having said that, if you look at the Ultimate gift card page for the Thanks gift card, it currently doesn't list Menulog. I mention that, because if you purchase a physical Ultimate Thanks gift card, it has a QR code that points to a page with a list of participating retailers (which is the page I linked to you). If you were wondering, Menulog disappeared from this page last week. I know this, because I run computer scripts every week to extract participating retailers of all Ultimate gift cards from their website and upload it to an OzBargain wiki page so that OzBargainers can easily see at a glance who participates in which Ultimate gift card (and this usually gets posted in deals too).

          It's a mess.

Mine wasn't automatically applied (after email confirmation) but I spent 30 mins in chat with them this morning and they gave it after pushing for it. They insisted I use the codes which were for the original order 🙄
They loaded it onto my account manually as an exception! and I told them this wasn't good enough as others would be waiting.

  • This deal is still going - and you can still use amazon gift cards to pay for it!
