    Any good review?

    • Have a look through previous deal posts, depends on your use case

  • Thanks OP, have been eyeing these for a while and just bought a pair

  • Are these any good for phone calls

    • +1

yes, I use this most days, phone calls, teams meetings.

    • they're okay. not horrible not great.

  • Openruns are 180 on JB Commercial if you're able to get access

  • +9

Note Aftershokz Aeropex is the old brand so they're probably getting rid of old stock. The newly branded Shokz Openrun version is identical except for the fast charging - 10 min charge gives 1hr+ battery life. Though the new version have downgraded accessories - a fabric case instead of a silicone case, and no longer included ear plugs (though this is no different than ones you can get from Bunnings for a few cents).

I've tried the Aeropex, Openrun and Openrun Pro so ask me anything. The Pro's do have more bass and have thicker mid level sound, whilst the Openrun has a warmer sound. Both have nice clean treble so great for listening to Tay Tay lol

    • +1

Upvoted for TayTay. The rest is… Noise.

    • So the Aeropex is equivalent to Openrun, whilst the Openrun Pro is a direct upgrade? Worth an extra $100?

    • -1

Also Openrun are IP55 where these Aeropex are IP67 waterproof. I have the Aeropex and have used in the shower a few times listening to podcasts.

      • Nah, Openrun are IP67 too.

      • No, Openrun is the same as Aeropex; both are IP67. The Openrun Pro is only IP55.

        • Yes my bad, thanks for the correction. I had been comparing against the pro when looking at whether I should upgrade.

    • Would you consider this a good deal?

      • +1

If you're not fussed about fast charge then yes it's a good deal as the aeropex is identical to openrun otherwise

    • This or the openrun (non pro) for $175.20? I guess it's ~$22 for fast charging and a fabric case?

      • Yeah $22 for fast charge is okay price bump as that's you're basically buying time, good for regular runners and cyclists

The Xtrainerz mp3 model for swimming is also on sale for $175, combined with the supplied earplugs, these were a game changer for lap swimming for me.

    • +1

@JGTC Post the Xtrainerz as a separate deal. $175 equal best price. They are the best swimming headphones I've tried.

  • received my pair and have been using them for a few days.

Great so far, still being able to hear makes it great with kids, especially babies.

Using on zwift, while watching tdf worked well, not having to worry about sweat or buds coming loose. Still able to hear over the fan/wind noise.

One annoyance is the neck loop, sometimes gets uncomfortable to recline or easily gets knocked by clothing but happy overall
