This is definitely a pricing error considering the Deluxe Edition is $119.95 on Steam, representing a 77% saving, the previous deal for this was over $60 more through Humble Bundle back in 2021. The Standard Edition is also more than twice the price on GMG.

This first requires a VPN to USA to allow access to the page, you can checkout through Paypal or credit card as required and a you will receive a Steam Product Key.

For those having trouble checking out. I used Nord VPN connected to USA #8857, Chrome browser and was logged into GMG with my account, checked out using Paypal. I have now bought five copies for friends and all working fine.

Happy Dealing!

    • +2

      Nord working for me.

      • +1

Cheers, will give that one a go next time.

    • Just done using PIA

Fantastic game! The campaign mode is really cool - re-enating pivotal battles throughout history, along with interesting info and videos on medieval times. I'm thoroughly enjoying it :)

  • Sorry noob here, can I play this game on ipad, iphone etc?

  • pretty sure already fixed. Unable to check out

    • +2

      Nope, I just bought a 5th copy!

      • Any chance you could grab one for me? Happy to pay via PayID. I can't seem to get to get it to stay in the cart.

        • Unable to send message: Overseas user - Can't PM you haha

          • @Pelicannn: Must be the VPN. :P

I think I got it working though, but I just wanted to confirm you haven't bought it for me before I put the order through, otherwise no issue, I can grab it off you. Thanks!

            • +2

@OverburdenedWarrior: Nope not yet! First rule of OzB - Cash in hand!

              Over to you :)

              • +1

@Pelicannn: Got it working, thanks again for the great deal!

To anybody having issues, I used the TunnelBear extension and signed into GmG and was able to purchase using PayPal. I had an issue where the item wouldn't stay in the cart unless I was logged in. Everything redeemed perfectly!

      • is it Nord VPN not working than? how did you do it ?? :D

        • +2

I am using Nord connected to the United States #8857, Chrome Browser and checking out with Paypal. No issues for the five copies I have purchased.

        • +1

Try TunnelBear. I also had to login to the site to get it to appear in my cart.

  • +1

Just worked for me, thanks OP !

  • Isn't this one Xbox GamePass?

    • +2

The regular version is, not the Deluxe Edition. However for those who don't like subscriptions this is the way to go.

Cries in Netflix, Stan, Disney, Prime, Youtube and Spotify

      • This price worthwhile for a "deluxe" upgrade if I have GP for 3 years?

        • Ehhh. I’m not too sure. If you are only using Game Pass for AOE? Maybe buy you won’t realise savings for years given you have so long to go on GP.

        • +3

I just looked up what it gets you, nothing really.

"The Digital Deluxe Edition includes everything from Age of Empires IV, plus digital bonus content which includes the official Age of Empires IV soundtrack, Unit Counters Chart, art compilation from digital painter Craig Mullins, and exclusive in-game content including a Coat of Arms, Player Profile portrait, and Monument."

          • +1

@Vool: Oh wow, that's really nothing. Thanks for the heads up

  • Got it, great deal even tho it's still expensive. Never got around to playing AoE2 when I was young so I have both 2 and 4 now. Excited to get into it

    Thanks OP!

    • +3

Problem is finding the time to play. I just hope this one won’t just sit there collecting dust like my AOE2 Definition.

      • +2

I am exactly in the same situation. Buying all this hoping one day I’ll have enough time play more than just few mins and actually get immersed in it.

        • Me too, but hey could break a bone or some sickness and get more than enough time one day …

  • Can confirm. Used torguard and VPN to USA to purchase and successfully activated in my steam account.

  • Now $41.39 US

    • +1

You are looking at the Standard Edition, click Deluxe on the right hand side and STEAM.

      • Correct you are !
        Missed out, this time..

        • Evidently if you read below you didn't miss much!

  • +2

    Excellent deal, thank you.

For anyone wondering, great single-player and every active multiplayer scene. You won't have any problems finding matches at any time of the day.

  • Thanks OP- worked fine with Express VPN

  • Purchased and activated fine! Thanks op!

  • Bought 4 copies using PIA vpn set to New York. Worked a treat thanks!

    • How do you buy multiple copies of a digital game, or is it a CD they post to you?

      • They just give you a code to enter into steam for each game. I gave the other codes to my friends and they paid me back.

  • Just got mine, thanks OP!

  • I cannot get to my computer to activate it on steam but I have the code so they cannot really pull it now can they? I can wait?

    • +1

I can help with that part.

      Go here

  • Just bought via NordVPN and activated in Steam. Thanks OP!

  • +2

Worked perfect! I don't know why I bought this. Already playing it on Game Pass 🙂

    • +1

      Username checks out.

  • got it

  • Thanks, got one, that's actually the price a friend of mine gets directly on Steam in Indonesia. I suspect it's just vastly marked up in certain regions.

  • I was able to use windscribe in advanced mode.

  • Thanks worked with windscribe

  • It keeps disappearing from my cart?

    • maybe try using incognito mode

    • make sure you are signed in

    • Happens on safari. Happened to me too. Use Firefox or chrome, if the deal is still on.

  • Thanks OP! Been waiting for a sale.

  • The deluxe content is available, as a downloadable dlc it seems?

  • Worked. Thanks OP <3

  • Thanks OP, got one.

  • Thanks, just used Tunnelbear for the purchase and activated in Steam.

  • Amazing, thanks OP

  • Worked with VyprVPN

  • Thanks OP! Used Nord and Bought 4 copies. Paypal locked my account but the payments went through and codes work so everything is good :)

  • AI is a bit wonky in this.

On regular difficulty, i sometimes get absolutely annihilated

Other times on the hardest difficulty, i beat the pc with ease…

  • +2

Worked for me. Used my Up card as I find I get better rates with it and paid A$27.41.

    • I got 6 copies with PayPal being $27.01 every time.

      • Yeah I usually do a comparison before I choose a payment method but just went with my card this time. Still a killer deal though!

      • Paypal was showing $28.55 for me, so I used Commbank card and paid $27.41 as well

        • Interesting given PayPal only update their rates daily I believe.

I used a linked AMEX to my PayPal so perhaps that is why slightly different.

          • +1

@Pelicannn: You can choose for the exchange rate to be either through paypal or the credit card provider.
The credit card provider is always cheaper than paypal.

  • Thanks worked on privado

I love this game & have been playing for about 8 months. Unfortunately the player numbers have dropped from 40K ish to around 5000 concurrent on steam and (I assume) something similar on gamepass. There are things wrong in terms of balance, but when two players are on even footing and are giving everything it's great fun. The SP campaign has been touted as great but for some reason I can't be bothered with it- and I say that as a history buff and doco addict. It needs more personality and characters, like AOE 2, AOM or AOE 3. YMMV. Multiplayer is where the fun is at, with very competitive 1v1 modes and 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 modes with lots of features and variety being added every few months. If you intend on playing MP my two pieces of advice are 1) don't do it unless you can beat the AI on the hardest difficulty and 2) pick french, english or mongols. They have the strongest early game units and bonuses and are very forgiving. For example, Mongols don't even need to build houses and can get an attack going almost immediately. I say point 1) because the hardest AI is roughly equivalent to a 1000 ELO player. Therefore, if it is really beating you, your MP experience will be 10 losses in a row until you get matched with another beginner. For 2), most mid level players will use extremely frustrating tactics against you like building towers on your villagers or raiding you non-stop. The best way to mitigate this is to be the attacking player.

People turtling with walls really killed my interest in the multiplayer as the games would just frustratingly drag on. :( Glad you're enjoying it though.

      • When did you stop? I think roughly a month ago they doubled construction time for stone walls, and made it so that the foundation can be attacked as they're being built. With the latest patch they're reducing the amount of stone in stone outcroppings too. I also usually lose turtle-y games where the enemy can snowball keeps to secure stone, and then use that to build further keeps and walls! The best answer I found is to kill the baby in the cradle- park a scout near their stone at the beginning of the game and see how much they're mining. The very fact that they're mining stone early means you can guaranteed get a bigger army and deny its construction.

        • Oh okay. I might try it again then. I stopped playing it maybe a couple of months after launch (after I finished the campaigns).

  • If anyone has a spare code I would be happy to buy off you for $35 AUD. I'm getting blocked by my banks cos I'm overseas atm

    • Send me a pm mate. I’ll do it at cost when I get home from work.

  • Thanks ops, worked.
Been eyeing this game for a while

  • Thanks - used the free Hola VPN Chrome Extension to get it!

  • Awesome deal. Would asking my friend in the US to buy it and send me the steam code work? I dont have a US VPN

    • +1

      Yep. Should be fine.

  • Out of stock? Or am I being an idiot?

    • Out of stock as I just installed hola VPN :/

      • Noooo, will buy a key or two if somebody wants to sell them, PM me

    • Yep. I just checked. OOS :(

  • Thank you! Snapped one about an hour ago. Another one for my pile of games I haven’t played because I’m too busy making money to buy them.

Seems like pricing error, just got a refund for it in my paypal acct. Already redeemed….what do now?

    • +1

Yup just saw Paypal refund email for mine as well. If already redeemed I assume it will disappear from Steam account soon. I think keys have been revoked previously from Valve authorised resellers who had price errors. Although, those were accidentally made free rather than a super low price. But we'll see.

    • +1

Ha. Play the game I guess. You lucky son of a …

FWIW I have no emails yet from the 6 copies I purchased. Time will tell.

      • Also just gotta refund. I guess they’ll be removing the game soon.

    • I already redeemed and played mine in steam. No refund or anything through PayPal for me. Maybe I'll get to keep it…

    • Did you download it and test it as well? Maybe that's the difference, why I haven't been refunded…
