Bought for $186 in may from appliances online + had cashback fyi

Freaking inflation! I checked the prices in Good Guys 3 months ago and can confirm they've incresed the LG microwave prices for about $50 or $400 for some fridges. I guess other stores have done the same.

    • +2

Bought it for $162 from JB HIFI back in Dec 19

  • Lucky you mentioned was about to pull the pin on this one, I really like the look of it and size is perfect. I'll keep waiting

    • +18

You're getting the trigger mixed up with the pin.

      • Kaboom I guess

20 year old Panasonic still going strong but I think I need to replace it… do these last more than 3 years? My Samsung fridge died after 4 years.

    • +2

      Panasonic and Sharp never die.
LG works well too and has many more features though.

Also LG heats the food consistently. I have a Sharp now and some parts of the food always remains cold (had the same problem with an old Panasonic), but the LG one in the office doesn't have that problem.
Also my wi-fi works fine with Sharp, unfortunately LG kills it based on the reviews.

Finally, my advice is never use Samsung in your kitchen or laundary! From every 5 or 6 customers, one of them has a broken Samsung fridge, washing machine, microwave, etc.

      • +1

Agree just buy the flatbed sharp, my wifi fine. I just hate the button tho it's like pressing year 2000 appliances. The good guys LG with rotary is the best out of all 3 LG, the slide one is gimmicky.

I my last LG microwave last 10 years, still work but rusted here and there, my LG washing machine also last 8 years until it sounds like sand papers. My mistake forgot to put transport pin when we moving house.

My Samsung fridge, just 2 years old but it seems gonna die soon.

      • My Panasonic from 2013 rusted through, as has a lot of people from productreviews.com.au

  • Is sensor cook important? i am not sure if i should get 4236 or 4296.
    preferably 4266 but, way expensive

    • +3

Did u just talk to yourself 🤔

    • Well you can only get 4266 in The good guys, no question that's the best, just ask the good guys what price they can give, last time they give me 60 bux discount, for sharp flat bed.

I love LG microwave more but the Mrs want new flatbed technology.

  • +1

I was offered this model for $200 in jbhifi castle hill last month , I did not buy it because I did not like the look of the buttons outside .
Call or talk to somebody at jb hifi and ask what is the best price you will be surprised

Great Microwave, shame it kills your wifi

    • -3

Pretty much all microwaves do that when they are running

      • I have never had an issue with my 2 last microwaves? In fact I can't ever recall having this issue.

    • +1

      Couldn't agree more.

    • I've only noticed this when I'm close to the microwave (<2m) and on a stone-age 2.4GHz network. Similar issue with bluetooth headphones.

      • This. Used to have this issue back then. I switched to 5GHz network, haven't experienced disruptions since then

        • Not really that helpful for people with heaps of IoT devices that only run 2.4ghz though.

          • @Deviner: I have 15 IoT devices in the house that run on a separate 2.4GHz network

            • @Scythic: My comment was in response to you saying to switch to 5ghz.
I also use 5ghz for most standard devices, but I've a lot of IoT devices which are all invariably going to be 2.4ghz.

Almost everyone reporting wifi issues are quoting 2.4ghz being the problem with this microwave, so it's a bit of a lottery whether your hardware, configuration, or placement, is going to run afoul here.

  • how much is this at good guys commercial ? and what is the difference between these models ?

  • Terrible unit. Went through two of them. Used the exact dimension for clearance as I was installing new kitchen. They tend to overheat sand then stop heating all together. Ended up with a less fancy Westinghouse does the job.

    • +4

You mounted it completely tight in a custom cabinet and you wonder why it overheated? Derp.

      • -2

No. It was installed as per specifications. Exactly. Bought all appliances prior to new kitchen. Assuming 'completely tight' derp.

        • +3

          "Installed as per specifications"

Check page 6 of the manual.

28- The Microwave oven must not be placed in a cabinet.
The microwave oven is intended to be used freestanding

      Sand in a microwave?!

      • +1

Lol. You can make glass from sand using a microwave apparently… *and

    • +2

I wouldn't take it to the beach.

    • +1

My LG microwave has a tendency to throttle down power randomly, sometimes after prolonged use. Not sure if it is a protective mechanism but they will suddenly only do 50% power even though you are selecting full power. Come back a few hours later and it is all fine again. Messes up recipes.

  • Aside from aesthetics, what are the advantages of spending more on a new microwave?

  • Reasonable discount

i got it Issue date: 20/02/2021
    Product Details: Qty Price
LG NeoChef 23L Smart Inverter Microwave Oven
    Product code: MS2336DB

and the 42" was $189 at the time also

  • I bought this 2018 for $159 and still going strong

  • +2

This microwave is so powerful, I usually have to do 60% of the time that is recommended on cooking instructions. It also kills anything Bluetooth that is within 5m of it when it's on.
