Thanks OP, I find these kinds of headphones pain my ear a lot :(

Looking for an over the ear headphone, hopefully there is a deal soon.

  • how does the ANC compare to airpods pro?

    • The ANC in these was added via a software update, where as the ANC in the 85t has dedicated processing and is meant to be superior.

That being said, I have these and the ANC is very good at taking away droning noises - my laptop fan is going a bit nuts right now but with the earphones in I can't hear it. And then I just opened the app and realised that my ANC wasn't even on, and that was just the passive noise cancellation. There is a barely noticable electrical hissing noise when the ANC is on, and when I tap on my desk it sounds much quieter and higher pitched. I don't have the airpods pro to compare directly.

One noteworthy thing with these is they connect in a master/slave manner, with the right earbud being the master. If you only want to use one it has to be the right, you can't alternate between them. I believe the Elite Active 7s remove that restriction.

      • Thanks for the input, I might hold off
I have the airpods pro and really like the ANC, but I can't get a good fit for my left ear

Looks like this 75t model doesn't have wireless charging either (apparently newer version of 75t does? but it isnt advertised in this listing)

        • 75t active has the wireless charging case.

          • @ace310:

75t active has the wireless charging case.

Not necessarily. You need to choose it as an option when you buy.

        • There are wireless charging and non wireless charging versions of the case.

I have a wireless charging case but still find myself plugging a usb-c cable in as I've had one or two instances across a few years where it didn't charge properly, and plugging it in seems worth the hassle rather than running out of battery later.

  • How does it compare with the Echo Buds (2nd gen)?

Exactly what I was waiting for (to replace a pair of taotronics). Many thanks

    • have a pair of taotronics, been really good. But I cant find them on amazon anymore :(

      • They got banned from Amazon for supposedly not following the rules. Apparently they were asking for 5 star reviews in return for gift cards

        • lol really?

          • @ozzyoi: Damn that sucks. I got two Taotronics lanterns from a deal here and they’re awesome.

  • I wait for a lightning deal on elite 3 or 4. The price seems to be good to be true but I think the RRP is overrated.

    • I paid around to $130 for 75t 6 months ago, very happy. Purchased elite 4 from JB hifi yesterday with JB perks coupon for $114.

      • What did you buy the elite 4 for if you already have the 75t and only 6 months old?

I'm tempted to get the elite active 7 so that I can use it in either ear, but that isn't a compelling enough reason to upgrade at this stage.

I got elite 4 for missus. I think 75t v 4 is on par, not an upgrade.

Elite 75t can pair 2 devices simultaneously ( not sure about 4)
But 75t's left pod only doesnt work unlike 4.

(Also had some jb hifi gift card so it made sense to me)

That is the only real difference I can see on paper, not an audiophile.

@Cpt Archer: I would prefer 75t to active 4. 4 can't pair two devices simultaneously, it is a nightmare.

            • @drillvoice: thats bad.2 device simultaneously make so much sense. I'm not going to mention it to my gf haha

Thank god they are gone. Makes the decision easier…

Have had two pairs where the left earbud suddenly dies

    • Good to know. Do you have any newer ones? Thinking about elite 3 or 4 waiting for a lightning deal.

      • No, I just rock the right earbud for now. Check out the jabra subreddit and you'll probably get some good feedback on those.

    • I also had this happen on the pair I got, seems to be a common issue.

  • these or samsung buds 2?

  • All gone! I kept getting the waitlist notification but as soon as I pressed it, it was already gone. Annoying.

There are also Elite Active 3s, 4s and 7s on sale here:
    https://www.amazon.com.au/stores/page/42BEB638-6B66-4312-A59…

  • These repeatedly get mentions in top choice for TWS earpods if you are after top level call quality, solid bass(not dumb distorted ones) and clarity.

ANC is surprisingly good. Don't be fooled by the "ANC was added by software update" argument - They have the chip that was needed for it and they added it. Just like how a new model has that chip but comes with that feature turned on from factory.
