Still don't understand why these things cost more than a pair of Q150s.

    • Because there's no other option to match them I guess.

You are right though. In their 'mid' range (R3, R2C) the centre is 2/3 the price of the pair.

Probably make up $$ on these and have more lean margin on their stereo speakers. Once someone has committed to the brand they’re more inclined to pay the extra to add centre channel for surround. Same goes for height channel speakers

that's me! Replacing my cheap polk audio centre channel with this to match my Q350s.

      • to match my Q350

based on driver diameter, that'd be Q650.

        • Yeah the Q650c 'goes with' the Q350s

          Sadly won't fit.

  • Better off using the Q350 as a centre if you know someone you can split a pair with. The two drivers on the sides of the Q250c are passive radiators and produce no sound.

    • "and produce no sound."
Passive radiators will vibrate at a specific frequencies passively from the centre speakers movement. Usually this will be mostly bass frequencies below 100hz so they do contribute to the overall sound of the speaker.
