[Pre Order] Asus GeForce RTX 3080 TUF Gaming 12GB GDDR6X Graphics Card $1359 Delivered @ BPC Technology

290

Please go gentle on me - long time lurker. Been looking for a 3080 12GB for quite some time and ideally was looking for something a bit better than the PNY, Gigabyte, Galax deals I've seen before. Was looking for something else on BPC and saw this in the new products section. Stock not available until the 27th July but able to order now.

Did a quick search and couldn't see anything comparable for a lower price. Yes the 4XXX series is coming but now the new is saying December, instead of September. And honestly I was hesitant to wait until then anyway. Nearly pulled trigger on a 6900XT but I'm excited for DLSS and Ray Tracing so held out for a 3080.

It's also been a heck of a long time since a 12GB 3080 deal came up! Anyway, feedback appreciated.

Coming Soon: 29/07/2022

  • Not bad, best 12gb one has been $1250 from memory

  • Would bite if it were not pre-order. So many tales of woe on Ozbargain about waiting way too long and prices will drop.

    • +1

BPC are normally pretty good and TUF is a common card, I doubt you'd be waiting long but given the Vulcan 12GB was $1299 @ BPC the week before - and imo the better buy - i'd call to negotiate or just hold off tbh.

  • Coming soon end of month, annoying, but agree great deal

  • Man I’ve been tryna sell my 3080ti TUF for ages at 1400 and get no bites 😂

    • That’s a great price, if it hasn’t been mined

      • +8

not as a second hand tho even not mined.

    • Where is your sale thread?

Anyone holding out for 4000 series launch?

    • +1

Waiting to see how NVIDIA will disrespect gamers again with 40 series, 3 months and they cry poor "oh it's not as profitable at the crypto high, I have to raise MSRP"

      • +3

What card did they raise they actually MSRP on?.

There's no reason for them to raise MSRP when they can do a launch with an okay price but limited supply, suppliers, retailers all raise prices and then we all do the spider man meme blaming the other one.

        • They released new iteration of cards with minimal gains with new Msrp, like the Ti's and 12gig version etc, they can use this msrp as their starting point… This way they ensure they get the profits rather than channel partners or scalpers.

      • +3

Or maybe they'll say not enough 4000 series cards after this.

        • +1

Tsmc has not agreed to cut back orders. Not easy to find 5N customers. So more chips.

      • +1

        cough cough 6x50xt

      • They still have to compete with AMD.

    • Can’t be bothered to wait for 4000, the card I would want or afford is not at launch, more like 16 months later, 3060 ti will do me fine if they ever drop

    • +1

Yeah, I've been HODL'ing for so long now that it currently isn't worth buying 3000 SKU's.

Stories all over the US/Youtube about massive overstocks atm though, talk of below MSRP and delays to 4000 series mean I might yet jump between now and then.

      • the 3090 ti FE was 1599USD yesterday on best buy

        • +1

Yeah, pushes me more towards waiting, especially if articles like this are to be believed.

          • +1

@Abaddon: Hmmmmmm, this would be upsetting for those that bought GPU's late in the game. Also depends on the price of the new cards thou

  • +1

Think the Vulcan was 1299 before which is a better model than this one?

  • +4

    1100$ then we talking.

  • +3

These prices with the current state of the economy, I think not.

  • +3

I would hold right now. Nvidia just tanked their RRP today and US sellers have also reacted. We'll see some more price reductions as there appears to be a big surplus and 4xxx launch soon (so they need to get rid of 3xxx cards)

    • +3

Seems like thier launch moved to november so that inventory gets cleared. Retailers are angry because they paid huge bux for inventory which they are finding it hard to sell at lower price. But I would definitely not want to spend 1360 bux at this point in time. A 4080 will have better bells and whistles and 16 Gigs of RAM for almost similar or lower price. I would have if I had gotten this at this price in last december.

      • Video card prices went full retard, it's going to be fun watching this whole thing meltdown shortly, once POS finally kicks in.

  • +1

12GB 3080 big drop since march, waiting for the 3080ti drop to $1600 will put the trigger.

    • Time to pull the trigger then big fella. There's also this more premium model for $1700.

I would strongly encourage you to wait a few months for Lovelace though. The 4080 will be 50-60% stronger than the 3080 Ti and likely cost less. Now's not the time to be buying the top end.

The 4090 will also be insane (likely double the 3090 in performance), but Nvidia will probably want an insane price for it ($1.5-2k USD), so that's probably outside your budget.

      • +1

Damn bro the Nvidia dropped the MSRP, you are right that's not a good time to buy a 30 serious card. My budget is around 1k-1.6K, if I waited for 40 serious, I got to upgrade my power supply, looks like 40 serious power consumption is a huge increase. I don't know if my 850 PSU can handle it or not.

        • The 4090 is all but confirmed to be 450 W (with a 600 W 4090 Ti to be released later), so the 4080 is likely to be 350-400 W. Definitely low enough for a decent 850 W PSU to handle.

  • If one is going to buy such an inferior LHR card they might as well get the 3080 on PNY and save themselves the money.

  • +1

I'm tempted but my 2080ti is holding up well. A few more months for the 40 series will be worth it IMO. I usually buy every second generation anyway.
