Awesome 3-season tent that I've personally bought and been using for a year with no complaints in all weather conditions except snow.

I've copied the post format from the previous deal at (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/667292) which this deal beats by $5; thanks cool runnings

This is considered to be one of the best of the affordable lightweight (2kg) two-person three-season freestanding backpacking tents on the market. Checking camelcamelcamel, I see that it does drop to this price every few months, but it's on sale now. If you're looking for something to buy to use your amazon gift cards and you're into hike-in, hike-out camping trips, this is a good opportunity. The green polyester is the cheapest, but other colours are available too.

The tent is pretty light for the price, but to reduce the tent's weight by an additional 208g, you may choose the 20D Nylon fabric material option,

which will come to $165 (usually $209). Both of the deals represent roughly a 18% discount. Check the specifications carefully when ordering to make sure you are getting the material you prefer.

Actually, if you browse the Naturehike tents on the Amazon AU site, quite a few versions of this tent design are marketed (one-person, three-person). Some of these have sales too.

  • Love all my naturehike stuff. I have 2 of the cloudup 2 upgraded 20D tents. Simply quality with crazy value. Proper inner, breathes and so light. No association, just a fan.

Ikr the quality is so damn good for the price

looking at the picture, why the guy drive motor home need this tent?

    • LMAO just noticed that

      • +1

because he've done a lousy photoshop job

I bought a 20D Cloudup-1 for about $140 a while back, I needed a freestanding tent with a small footprint to use in places where my Lanshan-2 4-season wasn't suited… No complaints other than the zipper being a little dickie… (edit: forgot, head height is a bit of an issue for a 6-footer in the "1", but I think that's fairly typical of all one man tents)

Some VERY rough footage from my first trip out with it:

    • WOAH great product video on it. If you did a review on that I'd watch it.

      • lol thanks, I'm not really one to do "reviews", I just record and upload odd footage.. Everyone has different needs so what suits me wont suit the next person, most Youtube reviews "seem" a bit disingenuous to me…

Not relevant to this Cloudup2 deal but people may be able to draw parallels from the "1" weights:

        Cloud-up 1, 20D total weight = 1521 grams, (with tags & plastic bags removed)
        Footprint groundsheet = 196g
        Tent inner, + fly + poles + bag = 1181g
        12 Pegs + bag + guy-lines = 144g

    • I have the cloudup2 and I'm 6 foot 3. No worries with sitting up inside. Did you shoot with an action cam? I see the top is quite pointy in the "1". The 2 is intimate for 2 adults, easy with an adult and a kid, room for you and your gear if you are on your own.

      • It's typical of all one man tents I think, not a big deal, it's the trade-off for using a small lightweight tent.. and yeh, that was recorded with the Gopro8 I think.. (edit, Nov-2021, it was probably the Gopro10)

and… Surprisingly, the "1" has just enough room for your backpack and gear inside when solo, unlike a lot of 1-man tents… I do prefer a 2-man tent but as mentioned above I purchased the "1" for the small footprint…

  • I have never understood the advantages of these nature hike tents 2.2kg vs this 1.45kg tent?

Obviously water and wind resistance, but wouldn't most of us go out hiking in fine weather?

Try hiking in Tassie. The best scenery and even in the best months you'll get wet.

      • +2

Correct ! .. you couldn't use that Kmart tent in Tassie, even in the middle of summer, it would be asking for trouble…

    • 100% sure with this design, you will get wet when there is any rain

    • +1

Hah, you made me laugh. Either you said that as a joke or you have little to no experience camping. It's like saying why do people buy a tesla car when you can buy a leaky, rusty, Datsun 120Y to drive around. Even on a cool but no rain night, that kmart one is going to be wet inside, including your sleeping bag.

  • +2

This tent got me from Adelaide to Melbourne on my bicycle as well through a lap of Tassie. My friend paid a bit extra for the more waterproof fabric version and it seemed to survive some storms a little better. My partner has the three person version and it is also great. Very popular with bikepackers who are budget-conscious or just don't want to carry around a lot of gear that could get stolen.

  • Thanks for the big thumbs on Naturehike products, I can go ahead and buy their other stuff with confidence.

    • I've only used the 2 person tent so I cant comment on the other stuff

      • I'm sure their gaiters are fine lol!
