  • think you get extra 10% off from Shopback?

    • Yes, Outsize Absolute Extra & Purple Corrale™ 10.00%

  • How old is this model? Is it equivalent to the v15 just with a bigger bin?

Edit - Looks like it's equivalent to v11?

    • +1

      Bigger v11

      • +1

        And 2 batteries.

        • Sorry, where does it says 2 batteries?

        • I think it's only in America that it comes with two batteries.

          • +2

@Mr Buggles: You could be right. The Aust specs says up to 60 min run time. The US spec says up to 120min (2 batteries x 60). May be someone who owns one in Oz can verify?

        • +2

Australia is not that kind to give you 2 when 1 costs $199

  • +8

There is no inflation problem in Australia… $1k+ vacuum cleaner is a bargain.

    • +1

Thier V15 model is 1500$! Who the fck pays 1500 for a stick vacuum cleaner? Crazy!

  • anyone have any feedback on this vs other dyson handheld models? Xiaomi G10 shit the bed after 3 years so this could be perfect timing if the product is decent

  • Last week this model had the slim laser light fluffy head for $1149. Looks like the swapped that out for the regular fluffy head and dropped the price by $100.

The green laser light is meant to show all dust you can’t see with the naked eye.

I believe they are the same model

      • If any who bought this last week can confirm which heads they received it might justify why the price reduced by $100. Last week, the laser slim fluffy was part of the deal, not the regular fluffy.

        • I found a screenshot from last week, and it is indeed the same as you said, it was laser head, no wonder it is 100 cheaper.

          • @Windfall: Dyson have a habit of swapping out accessories and dropping the price. They did that with the V10 Absolute + a few weeks back. Cut the price and removed some accessories. Still a good deal if a twilight zone laser does not appeal.

            • @Paul-1973: twilight zone laser makes you never be able to stop vacuum

          • @Windfall: Hi mate, i ordered it last week for the $1149 but they sent me the none laser head could you post that screen shot you had im going to email them! cheers

    This or v12?

So confused with the Dyson range.

Currently have the v8 Absolute+ that I got over 4 years ago. End of its life so want to replace.

If your house has a large area, buy this.

      • Thanks!

        • +1

Its really HUGE, see it in shop before you buy it. If you mrs wants to use it for cleaning the house, might cause hand pain.

          • +1

@John Doh: Agree with this. Saw the Outsize at Myer for the first time recently and was quite surprised at how big it was (compared to my V10). Definitely recommend trying it in store before buying.

            • @SingleMalty: After using the Dyson V7 and dreame V10, I found the normal Dyson V11 already to be huge in comparision TBH.

    • you are comparing the extreme. V12 has a slim bin (tiny for a small apartment or you end up emptying many times) and this has the largest bin in handheld.

  • Out of curiosity, does shopback and cash rewards track if you use PayPal's pay in 4 option?

  • +1

never used a dyson but I recently bought the dreame 9 from kogan for $179

amazing device, it's going for $199 currently

came across a few reviews of owners who had a similar version of the dyson and say they are comparable despite the price difference

might be worth considering - i'd advise against the kogan branded models though

    • +2

I have the dreame V10 and its really good.

      • it's been amazing so far, it looks well made and with the battery pack from samsung it should last

spare parts are cheap, bought 6 filters and 2 brushes for $35, original battery replacement is reasonably priced at $60 too

i am sure the dyson is good but i doubt it's $600 better!

        • Definitely not 600 better. I have used both. The dreame V10 is on par with Dyson V8. Not used Dyson V10 so can't comment on that. I like the Dyson soft roller head over Xiaomi.

          • @John Doh: yeah that's the common theme i've seen in the reviews by owners that have had both, that the dreame is about the same as a relatively recent model of the dyson

            thanks for confirming

Dysons are now overpriced and newer large models with bells and whistles just end up failing more due to electical complications, and although better than others they still have a 33% failure rate, ie ive had 3 and twice a year the battery fails or the motor and there not even worked that hard ended up getting a full refund on all after multiple failures withing warrenty over and over.

If you have a bigger room house stick with a tradional Miele/other 240v unit, stick vacume cleaners are really not realible vs 240v and they never will be there for casual use.

Miele compact $299-379 is a great unit light weight reliable as a subsitute for any stick vac over 700$

    • Who the hell would want drag that thing around banging into walls etc, not mention to using it on stairs if you have a double storey house.

    • the convenience of the stick vacuums are game changing imho, especially if they are docked and always charged

especially for someone lazy like me

takes 30 seconds to vacuum a spill put the thing back, not to mention how easy it is to dust everything from venetian blinds to sucking up spider webs 3m high into the ceiling, it's all so effortless

you don't need to spend 1k either, the dreame products rival dyson at a 3rd or 4th of the price

  • V10 is extremely heavy using one handed I tried at JB hifi. YouTube expert reviews saying not much difference between V8 and v10 on suction I would save your money

Only low power modes run longer and better but max mode about the same

This advertising on 60 min run time is for low mode me thinks

  • I’ve been looking at this, and liking it.
Can anyone comment on the battery life?
We have a large home and I’m worried the run time of 1hr might not cut it, esp if the 1hr is on minimum suction setting???
    Thanks
