Least Expensive Way to Get to Asia over Christmas?

So for cheap options to Asia I always check out Scoot to Singapore then onwards, or Jetstar to Bali, Phuket or Ho Chi Minh as these are usually the cheapest entry points.

I did a quick price check and I'm looking at about $1400 return which is nuts (but expected for peak season). For comparison my last trip was $450 return.

So the question, does anyone have any hot tips for a cheaper entry and exit path into Asia over Christmas? I'm planning on traveling around once there so am flexible on the first and last stop.

You can use SkyScanner to search for flights to "Everywhere" which will allow you to find the cheapest way to Asia if you don't care what airport… https://www.skyscanner.com.au/transport/flights-from/syd/

    • Skyscanner's weakness is that someone before you had to have searched that specific route and date for it to come up on your "Everywhere" search.

Not sure if the sale is still on, but a few months ago there was a Singapore scoot sale for $170 one way, then a few weeks ago another sale for $162. And then a third deal for approx the same price. Even if it's not on anymore, seems like it goes on offer pretty often? I paid $352 return with no add-ons, absolute bargain in my books!

Yeah I've flown Scoot a few time for that reason. The SYD-SIN leg can be had for about $400 ret, if you time it right, then use cheap local carriers from that point on
